Effective April 1, 2022, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office no longer takes jurisdiction over hospital, nursing home or hospice COVID-19 deaths unless there is another factor that falls within the Office’s jurisdiction. Data continues to be collected for COVID-19 deaths in Cook County on the Illinois Dept. of Public Health COVID-19 dashboard (https://dph.illinois.gov/covid19/data.html). This contains information about deaths that occurred in Cook County that were under the Medical Examiner’s jurisdiction. Not all deaths that occur in Cook County are reported to the Medical Examiner or fall under the jurisdiction of the Medical Examiner. The Medical Examiner’s Office determines cause and manner of death for those cases that fall under its jurisdiction. Cause of death describes the reason the person died. This dataset includes information from deaths starting in August 2014 to the present, with information updated daily. Changes: December 16, 2022: The Cook County Commissioner District field now reflects the boundaries that went into effect December 5, 2022. September 8, 2023: The Primary Cause field is now a combination of the Primary Cause Line A, Line B, and Line C fields.
This map layer represents roadways under the jurisdiction of Cook County, MN.

Historic land, building, and total assessed values for all Cook County parcels appealed with the Board of Review, from 2010 to present. The Board of Review uses these values for reporting, evaluating assessment performance over time, and research.
When working with Parcel Index Numbers (PINs) make sure to zero-pad them to 14 digits. Some datasets may lose leading zeros for PINs when downloaded
This data is parcel-level. Each row contains the assessed values for a single PIN for a single year. Important notes: • Assessed values are available when the Board of Review closes appeals and certifies the values. • The values in this data are assessed values, NOT market values. Assessed values must be adjusted by their level of assessment (https://prodassets.cookcountyassessor.com/s3fs-public/form_documents/classcode.pdf) to arrive at market value. Note that levels of assessment may have changed throughout the time period covered by this data set. • This data set will be updated when each township is certified. However, note that there may be discrepancies between the Board of Review’s data and the Assessor's site and this data set, as each pull from a slightly different system. • Current property class codes, their levels of assessment, and descriptions can be found on the Assessor's website (https://prodassets.cookcountyassessor.com/s3fs-public/form_documents/classcode.pdf). Note that class codes details can change across time. • The Change Reason and No Change Reason fields are only populated starting with the 2015 year data.

Employee payroll data for all Cook County employees excluding Forest Preserves, indicating amount of base salary paid to an employee during the County fiscal quarter. Salaries are paid to employees on a bi-weekly basis. Any pay period that extended between quarters will be reported to the quarter of the Pay Period End Date. (e.g. If a Pay Period runs 02/21-03/05, that pay period would be reported in the Q2 period, as the end of the pay period falls in March - Q2) The county fiscal quarters are: Q1: December - February Q2: March - May Q3: June - August Q4: September - November The Employee Unique Identifier field is a unique number assigned to each employee for the purpose of this data set, that is not their internal employee ID number, and allows an employee to be identified in the data set over time, in case of a name change or other change. This number will be consistent within the data set, but we reserve the right to regenerate this number over time across the data set. ISSUE RESOLVED: As of 4/19/2018 there was an issue regarding employee FY2016 and FY2017 payroll in which records were duplicated in the quarterly aggregation, resulting in inflated base pay amounts. Please disregard any data extracted from this dataset prior to the correction date and use this version moving forward. KNOWN ISSUE: Several records are missing Bureau and Office information. We are working on correcting this and will update the dataset when this issue has been resolved. For data prior to Fiscal Year 2016, see datasets at https://datacatalog.cookcountyil.gov/browse?tags=payroll

This dataset contains amounts shown in the TIF District Programming 2021-2025 reports as well as from 2026 through the planned expiration of each TIF district. The report and corresponding dataset show estimated fund and project balances through the end of FY 2020. Amounts shown in columns 2021 and later reflect known obligations and proposed projects as well as estimates of revenue based on the current equalized assessed value data for each TIF district produced by the Cook County Clerk.
Versions of this dataset are produced periodically for the then-relevant time periods, which will partially overlap, with newer versions having updated numbers. The immediately previous and next (if available) datasets are shown in the Featured Content cards for this dataset. All versions of this dataset can be found at https://data.cityofchicago.org/browse?tags=tif+district+programming.

Analysis of ‘COVID-19 Cases, Tests, and Deaths by ZIP Code’ provided by Analyst-2 (analyst-2.ai), based on source dataset retrieved from https://catalog.data.gov/dataset/04f6ebfb-8a04-45ff-9335-984cd5a4e200 on 13 February 2022.

This is the source data for some of the metrics available at https://www.chicago.gov/city/en/sites/covid-19/home/latest-data.html.
For all datasets related to COVID-19, see https://data.cityofchicago.org/browse?limitTo=datasets&sortBy=alpha&tags=covid-19.
Only Chicago residents are included based on the home ZIP Code as provided by the medical provider. If a ZIP was missing or was not valid, it is displayed as "Unknown".
Cases with a positive molecular (PCR) or antigen test are included in this dataset. Cases are counted based on the week the test specimen was collected. For privacy reasons, until a ZIP Code reaches five cumulative cases, both the weekly and cumulative case counts will be blank. Therefore, summing the “Cases - Weekly” column is not a reliable way to determine case totals. Deaths are those that have occurred among cases based on the week of death.
For tests, each test is counted once, based on the week the test specimen was collected. Tests performed prior to 3/1/2020 are not included. Test counts include multiple tests for the same person (a change made on 10/29/2020). PCR and antigen tests reported to Chicago Department of Public Health (CDPH) through electronic lab reporting are included. Electronic lab reporting has taken time to onboard and testing availability has shifted over time, so these counts are likely an underestimate of community infection.
The “Percent Tested Positive” columns are calculated by dividing the number of positive tests by the number of total tests . Because of the data limitations for the Tests columns, such as persons being tested multiple times as a requirement for employment, these percentages may vary in either direction from the actual disease prevalence in the ZIP Code.
All data are provisional and subject to change. Information is updated as additional details are received.
To compare ZIP Codes to Chicago Community Areas, please see http://data.cmap.illinois.gov/opendata/uploads/CKAN/NONCENSUS/ADMINISTRATIVE_POLITICAL_BOUNDARIES/CCAzip.pdf. Both ZIP Codes and Community Areas are also geographic datasets on this data portal.
