This system provides the user with a facility to select a state and county combination to determine if the selected county is part of an Office of Management and Budget (OMB) defined Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA). The system has been updated with OMB area definitions published for FY 2009.

The database includes ZIP code, city name, alias city name, state code, phone area code, city type, county name, country FIPS, time zone, day light saving flag, latitude, longitude, county elevation, Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA), Primary Metropolitan Statistical Area (PMSA), Core Based Statistical Area (CBSA) and census 2000 data on population by race, average household income, and average house value.

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. Metropolitan and Micropolitan Statistical Areas are together termed Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs) and are defined by the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and consist of the county or counties or equivalent entities associated with at least one urban core (urbanized area or urban cluster) of at least 10,000 population, plus adjacent counties having a high degree of social and economic integration with the core as measured through commuting ties with the counties containing the core. Categories of CBSAs are: Metropolitan Statistical Areas, based on urbanized areas of 50,000 or more population; and Micropolitan Statistical Areas, based on urban clusters of at least 10,000 population but less than 50,000 population. The CBSA boundaries are those defined by OMB based on the 2010 Census, published in 2013, and updated in 2018.

One of the many challenges that social science researchers and practitioners face is the difficulty of relating data between census tracts which are re-delineated with each decennial census. While some methods of harmonizing or crosswalking data between census tracts exist, to provide additional avenues for merging these data, PD&R has released the HUD-USPS Census Tract Crosswalk Files. These unique files are derived from the USPS Vacancy Data which are regularly updated by the USPS which makes them uniquely positioned to describe human settlements patterns between census tract delineations. These data use the locations of ZIP+4 centroids, an extremely granular level of geography, the number of addresses of various types (residential, business, other, and total), and do not rely on ancillary data to map where population or households might be located.There are twelve types of crosswalk files available for download. The first six crosswalk files are used to allocate ZIP codes to Census Bureau geographies such as census tracts, counties, county subdivisions, Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSAs), CBSA Divisions, and Congressional Districts. The last six are used to allocate from those same Census Bureau geographies to ZIP Codes. It is important to note that the relationship between the two types of crosswalk files is not perfectly inverse. That is to say, the ZIP to Tract crosswalk file cannot be used to allocate data from census tract geographies to ZIP codes. Instead, the Tract to ZIP crosswalk file must be used in that specific scenario.In addition to the crosswalk files, this dataset also includes screenshots of HUDs documentation and FAQ pages.

The School District Geographic Relationship Files (GRF) were designed to provide a complete set of geographic associations between school districts and other types of geographic areas including counties, Core Based Statistical Areas (CBSA), Consolidated Statistical Areas (CSA), New England City and Town Areas (NECTA), Zip Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTA), Urban Areas, Congressional Districts (CD), places, Census tracts, and Census block groups. The GRFs are based on the Census Bureau’s TIGER/Line database, and the tables provide a separate record for each part of a district that is uniquely associated with one of the other geographic areas.

This service offers Esri's Updated Demographics, Census Data, Tapestry Segmentation, and Business Summary data for the United States. Updates are based on the decennial census, Infogroup business data, other public and proprietary data sources, and proprietary models.

All attributes are available at all geography levels: country, state, county, tract, block group, ZIP code, place, county subdivision, congressional district, core-based statistical area (CBSA), and designated market area (DMA).

There are over 2,100 attributes in categories such as: population, households, race and ethnicity, educational attainment, marital status, employment by industry and occupation, income, net worth, housing and home value, number of businesses and employees, sales, and many others. Key attributes from the 2010 Census such as population, are presented for reference. Some attributes such as population, income, and home value, are also projected five years to 2021.

Esri offers Updated Demographics for 2019 and 2024 and Tapestry Segmentation for 2019. Esri provides Census Data for geographies not supplied by the Census Bureau including ZIP Codes and DMAs.

This data collection contains summary statistics on population and housing subjects derived from the responses to the 2010 Census questionnaire. Population items include sex, age, average household size, household type, and relationship to householder such as nonrelative or child. Housing items include tenure (whether a housing unit is owner-occupied or renter-occupied), age of householder, and household size for occupied housing units. Selected aggregates and medians also are provided. The summary statistics are presented in 71 tables, which are tabulated for multiple levels of observation (called "summary levels" in the Census Bureau's nomenclature), including, but not limited to, regions, divisions, states, metropolitan/micropolitan areas, counties, county subdivisions, places, ZIP Code Tabulation Areas (ZCTAs), school districts, census tracts, American Indian and Alaska Native areas, tribal subdivisions, and Hawaiian home lands. There are 10 population tables shown down to the county level and 47 population tables and 14 housing tables shown down to the census tract level. Every table cell is represented by a separate variable in the data. Each table is iterated for up to 330 population groups, which are called "characteristic iterations" in the Census Bureau's nomenclature: the total population, 74 race categories, 114 American Indian and Alaska Native categories, 47 Asian categories, 43 Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islander categories, and 51 Hispanic/not Hispanic groups. Moreover, the tables for some large summary areas (e.g., regions, divisions, and states) are iterated for portions of geographic areas ("geographic components" in the Census Bureau's nomenclature) such as metropolitan/micropolitan statistical areas and the principal cities of metropolitan statistical areas. The collection has a separate set of files for every state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the National File. Each file set has 11 data files per characteristic iteration, a data file with geographic variables called the "geographic header file," and a documentation file called the "packing list" with information about the files in the file set. Altogether, the 53 file sets have 110,416 data files and 53 packing list files. Each file set is compressed in a separate ZIP archive (Datasets 1-56, 72, and 99). Another ZIP archive (Dataset 100) contains a Microsoft Access database shell and additional documentation files besides the codebook. The National File (Dataset 99) constitutes the National Update for Summary File 2. The National Update added summary levels for the United States as a whole, regions, divisions, and geographic areas that cross state lines such as Core Based Statistical Areas.

The 2015 TIGER Geodatabases are extracts of selected nation based and state based geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) database. The geodatabases include feature class layers of information for the fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Island areas (American Samoa, the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, Guam, and the United States Virgin Islands). The geodatabases do not contain any sensitive data. The 2015 TIGER Geodatabases are designed for use with Esriâ s ArcGIS.

        The National Nation-Level Geography Geodatabase contains multiple nation-based layers reflecting the selected geography. These layers are the
        5-Digit ZIP Code Tabulation Area, Combined New England City and Town Area, Combined Statistical Area, Core Based Statistical Area, Metropolitan

The Postal Code Conversion File (PCCF) is a digital file which provides a correspondence between the Canada Post Corporation (CPC) six-character postal code and Statistics Canada's standard geographic areas for which census data and other statistics are produced. Through the link between postal codes and standard geographic areas, the PCCF permits the integration of data from various sources. The Single Link Indicator provides one best link for every postal code, as there are multiple records for many postal codes. To obtain the postal code conversion file or for questions, consult the DLI contact at your educational institution. The geographic coordinates attached to each postal code on the PCCF are commonly used to map the distribution of data for spatial analysis (e.g., clients, activities). The location information is a powerful tool for planning, or research purposes. In April 1983, the Statistical Registers and Geography Division released the first version of the PCCF, which linked postal codesOM to 1981 Census geographic areas and included geographic coordinates. Since then, the file has been updated on a regular basis to reflect changes. This dataset contains records for each public secondary and elementary education agency in the United States and its outlying areas (American Samoa, Guam, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and the Marshall Islands) for 1985-1986. Reporting agencies serve instructional levels from pre-kindergarten through grade 12, or the equivalent span of instruction in ungraded or special education districts. Regional Educational Service Agencies, supervisory unions, and county superintendents are also represented. Variables include state and federal ID numbers, agency name, address, city, and ZIP code, FIPS county and out-of-state indicators, instructional operating status, agency type, grade span, metropolitan statistical area (MSA) ID and status, and board of control selection code.

The Postal Code Conversion File (PCCF) is a digital file which provides a correspondence between the Canada Post Corporation (CPC) six-character postal code and Statistics Canada's standard geographic areas for which census data and other statistics are produced. Through the link between postal codes and standard geographic areas, the PCCF permits the integration of data from various sources. The Single Link Indicator provides one best link for every postal code, as there are multiple records for many postal codes. To obtain the postal code conversion file or for questions, consult the DLI contact at your educational institution. The geographic coordinates attached to each postal code on the PCCF are commonly used to map the distribution of data for spatial analysis (e.g., clients, activities). The location information is a powerful tool for planning, or research purposes. In April 1983, the Statistical Registers and Geography Division released the first version of the PCCF, which linked postal codesOM to 1981 Census geographic areas and included geographic coordinates. Since then, the file has been updated on a regular basis to reflect changes. For this release of the PCCF, the vast majority of the postal codesOM are directly geocoded to 2016 Census geography while others are linked via various conversion processes. A quality indicator for the confidence of this linkage is available in the PCCF.
