Daily hospital admissions to University Hospitals Leicester (UHL) of patients with Covid-19

Number of Covid-19 patients in mechanical ventilation bed at University Hospitals Leicester. This includes data for both Leicester and Leicestershire residents and could also include those residing out of the city or county.

The number and percentage of Covid-19 fully vaccinated people by age band. Population estimates are based on National Immunisation Management Service counts.

This dataset has been updated to reflect new age bandings and population figures provided in July 2022.

This dataset now includes details of the Autumn Booster programme.

Note on analysis:

This datasets presents the proportion of the eligible population who have received all vaccinations they are entitled to. This is terms as a "Complete Dose". The number of vaccinations required to qualify as a complete dose differs by the age of the individual. The following scale is used to determine this:

- Aged 5 - 15 - Dose 1

- Aged 16 - 24 - Dose 1 & Dose 2

- Aged 35 - 50 - Dose 1, Dose 2 & Booster

- Aged 50+ - Dose1, Dose2, Booster & Autumn Booster

The Covid in Cartoons project engaged 15-18 year olds with political cartoons and cartoonists to foster processes of meaning-making in relation to the pandemic. Working with Cartooning for Peace and ShoutOut UK we engaged young people in building critical narratives of the crisis and its impact on their lives. We aimed to promote an inclusive, socially-responsive curriculum that supports young people's ability to cope in difficult circumstances. We used surveys, focus groups, and records of the participants' experiences in the form of workbooks to gather data. The project was led by Dr Fransiska Louwagie (PI) and Dr Diane Levine (Co-I), with postdoctoral associates Dr Kara Blackmore and Dr Sarah Weidman, and ran between January 2021 and July 2022. Covid in Cartoons participants produced many drawings as they progressed through the minicourse, focusing on: i) introducing political cartoons, ii) reflecting on the pandemic through cartoons, iii) heroes, inequalities and human rights, and iv) live drawing with a professional cartoonist.

The data published shows the different Covid-19 business support grants paid to eligible businesses and charities by Leicester City Council. The grants were funded by the UK Government. In line with transparency and data protection rules, payments to individuals/sole traders are redacted. Note: £594,298.57 of the LRSG Open Grant was allocated towards the Additional Restrictions Grant allowance.

The participating towns in this effort included Grafton, Holden, Leicester, Millbury, Shrewsbury, West Boylston, and the City of Worcester.
