    Income share held by fourth 20% of Costa Rica climb by 1.87% from 21.40 % in 2023 to 21.80 % in 2024. Since the 1.44% decrease in 2021, income share held by fourth 20% jumped by 5.83% in 2024. Percentage share of income or consumption is the share that accrues to subgroups of population indicated by deciles or quintiles. Percentage shares by quintile may not sum to 100 because of rounding.

The share of population living on less than 3.2 U.S. dollars per day in Costa Rica declined to three percent in 2023. The share thereby reached its lowest value in recent years.
