    Description

**- This dataset provides population and net migration data for a selection of Muslim countries, covering the period from 1960 to 2023. The data combines information from multiple sources and is provided in both CSV and Excel formats. Key countries included are 'Syrian Arab Republic', 'Iraq', 'Afghanistan', 'Lebanon', 'Jordan', 'Egypt, Arab Rep.', 'Pakistan'. It includes separate files for population data, migration data, and combined data.

    • Files included are: muslim_countries_migration.csv, muslim_countries_migration.xlsx, pop_net_migration_muslim_countries.csv, and population_muslim_countries.csv.

    • This data can be used for demographic analysis, visualization projects, and exploring migration patterns in the Muslim world.

    Columns descriptions:

Country: "Name of the country or territory." (Be consistent - if some are territories like "West Bank and Gaza," make this clear).

Year: "Year of observation (1960-2023, as available in the dataset)."

total_population: "Total population of the country/territory in that year. Units are individuals." (Or specify "in thousands" or "millions" if that is the case). Indicate what NaN means (missing data, not available).

net_migration: "Net migration for the country/territory in that year. This is the difference between the number of immigrants and emigrants. A positive value indicates more immigration than emigration, while a negative value indicates the opposite. Units are individuals." Indicate what NaN means (missing data, not available).

    key insights:

    Total Population Trend:

    • Pakistan has the highest population among the selected countries, with a steady increase from 1960 to 2020.

    • Iran's population is also increasing but at a slower rate than Pakistan.

    • Other countries, such as Afghanistan, Jordan, Israel, and Lebanon, show moderate population growth.

    • Lebanon and Israel have relatively lower population figures compared to Pakistan and Iran.

    Net Migration Trends:

    • Net migration fluctuates significantly over time for all countries.

    • Afghanistan shows sharp declines in net migration, indicating periods of mass emigration.

    • Iran and Pakistan also show significant migration spikes, suggesting political or economic events influencing migration patterns.

    • Around 1980, Iran and Afghanistan show drastic net migration changes, likely linked to conflicts in the region.

    • Post-2000, net migration remains volatile but stabilizes for most countries.

    Significant Migration Events:

    • The 1980s show major migration shifts, possibly due to the Soviet-Afghan War, Iran-Iraq War, and regional conflicts.

    • Migration fluctuations continue in the 1990s and 2000s, likely influenced by wars, economic conditions, and international policies.

    • Recent years show a decline in extreme migration shifts, but Pakistan and Afghanistan still experience notable fluctuations.

Market Dynamics of Islamic Financing Market

Key Drivers of Islamic Financing Market

Growing Muslim Population to Increase the Demand Globally

The growing Muslim population globally is expected to significantly increase the demand for Islamic financial products and services in the coming years. With Muslims comprising a substantial portion of the world's population, estimated to reach nearly 30% by 2050 according to demographic projections, there is a natural market for Sharia-compliant banking and investment solutions. As incomes rise and financial literacy improves in Muslim-majority countries and beyond, more individuals and businesses are seeking financial services that align with their religious beliefs and ethical values. Moreover, the increasing affluence and urbanization among Muslim populations contribute to a greater demand for sophisticated financial products, including Islamic mortgages, savings accounts, and investment funds. This growing demand is wider than in Muslim-majority countries. Still, it extends to Muslim communities and individuals residing in non-Muslim-majority countries, as well as non-Muslims who are attracted to the ethical principles and risk-sharing mechanisms inherent in Islamic finance.

Economic Development in Muslim-majority Countries to Propel Market Growth

Economic development in Muslim-majority countries is poised to propel significant growth within the Islamic finance market. As these countries experience robust economic growth, driven by factors such as population growth, urbanization, and natural resource wealth, a corresponding demand for sophisticated financial services that comply with Islamic principles emerges. This demand stems from both individuals and businesses seeking ethical and Sharia-compliant financial solutions to meet their diverse needs. Moreover, the expanding middle class within these countries signifies an increasing appetite for diverse banking and investment products, including Islamic mortgages, savings accounts, and investment funds. As disposable incomes rise and financial literacy improves, more people are turning towards Islamic finance as a viable alternative to conventional banking, recognizing its alignment with their religious beliefs and ethical values.

Restraint Factors Of Islamic Financing Market

Limited Product Offering to Limit the Sales

The limited product offering within the Islamic finance market poses a significant challenge, potentially constraining sales and market growth. Compared to conventional banking, Islamic finance products and services are often more specialized and may only cover part of the spectrum of financial needs for individuals and businesses. This limited range of options can deter potential customers who require a broader array of financial solutions. One of the primary reasons for the limited product offering is the adherence to Sharia principles, which prohibit certain financial activities such as interest (riba) and speculative transactions (gharar). While Islamic finance emphasizes ethical and socially responsible investing, it also imposes constraints on product innovation and development, particularly in areas where conventional finance has more flexibility.

    Islamic Clothing Market Outlook 2025-2034

The global Islamic clothing market was valued at $128.4 billion in 2025 and is projected to reach $249.7 billion by 2034, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.7% during the forecast period from 2026 to 2034, driven by a confluence of demographic, cultural, and economic forces reshaping the global apparel landscape. Islamic clothing, encompassing garments such as abayas, hijabs, thobes, kaftans, and a broad spectrum of modest fashion items, has transcended its traditional religious context to emerge as a mainstream fashion category with significant commercial appeal across diverse geographies. The global Muslim population surpassed 2.1 billion in 2025, representing approximately 26% of total world population, and is projected to reach 2.8 billion by 2050 according to demographic forecasts, providing a substantial and expanding consumer base for Islamic apparel brands. Beyond purely demographic growth, the rising awareness of modest fashion among non-Muslim consumers, particularly in Western markets, is broadening the addressable market significantly. Increasing urbanization in key Muslim-majority countries such as Indonesia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Egypt, Turkey, and Nigeria is fueling consumer spending on clothing and fashion, with urban Muslims increasingly seeking premium and fashion-forward interpretations of traditional Islamic garments. The proliferation of social media platforms, particularly Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest, has catalyzed the global reach of modest fashion influencers and brands, creating viral trends around hijab styling, abaya designs, and modest sportswear that resonate with millions of followers worldwide. E-commerce penetration in Islamic clothing has accelerated markedly, with online platforms enabling brands headquartered in Turkey, Malaysia, UAE, and Indonesia to serve customers in North America, Europe, and Oceania with same-week shipping capabilities. Additionally, growing government support in countries like the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia for developing domestic fashion industries under broader economic diversification strategies is channeling investment into Islamic fashion startups and established players alike. The halal economy, of which Islamic fashion is a key pillar, was estimated at over $3 trillion globally in 2025, underscoring the macroeconomic significance of this market segment. Corporate investments in sustainable and ethical manufacturing practices aligned with Islamic values of fair trade and environmental stewardship are further attracting ESG-focused investors and retailers to the sect
