    Description

Vector polygon map data of city limits from Houston, Texas containing 731 features.

City limits GIS (Geographic Information System) data provides valuable information about the boundaries of a city, which is crucial for various planning and decision-making processes. Urban planners and government officials use this data to understand the extent of their jurisdiction and to make informed decisions regarding zoning, land use, and infrastructure development within the city limits.

By overlaying city limits GIS data with other layers such as population density, land parcels, and environmental features, planners can analyze spatial patterns and identify areas for growth, conservation, or redevelopment. This data also aids in emergency management by defining the areas of responsibility for different emergency services, helping to streamline response efforts during crises..

This city limits data is available for viewing and sharing as a map in a Koordinates map viewer. This data is also available for export to DWG for CAD, PDF, KML, CSV, and GIS data formats, including Shapefile, MapInfo, and Geodatabase.

The primary risk classifications used are the 1-percent-annual-chance flood event, the 0.2-percent-annual-chance flood event, and areas of minimal flood risk. The DFIRM Database is derived from Flood Insurance Studies (FISs), previously published Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs), flood hazard analyses performed in support of the FISs and FIRMs, and new mapping data, where available. The FISs and FIRMs are published by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The file is georeferenced to earth's surface using the UTM projection and coordinate system. The specifications for the horizontal control of DFIRM data files are consistent with those required for mapping at a scale of 1:12,000. Lake Owen, Albany County, Wyoming
    Description

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release presents a digital database of geospatially enabled vector layers and tabular data transcribed from the geologic map of the Lake Owen quadrangle, Albany County, Wyoming, which was originally published as U.S. Geological Survey Geologic Quadrangle Map GQ-1304 (Houston and Orback, 1976). The 7.5-minute Lake Owen quadrangle is located in southeastern Wyoming approximately 25 miles (40 kilometers) southwest of Laramie in the west-central interior of southern Albany County, and covers most of the southern extent of Sheep Mountain, the southeastern extent of Centennial Valley, and a portion of the eastern Medicine Bow Mountains. This relational geodatabase, with georeferenced data layers digitized at the publication scale of 1:24,000, organizes and describes the geologic and structural data covering the quadrangle's approximately 35,954 acres and enables the data for use in spatial analyses and computer cartography. The data types presented in this release include geospatial features (points, lines, and polygons) with matching attribute tables, nonspatial descriptive and reference tables, and ancillary resource files for correct symbolization, in formats that conform to the Geologic Map Schema (GeMS) developed and released by the U.S. Geological Survey's National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program (GeMS, 2020). When reconstructed from the geodatabase's vector layers and tabular data that has been symbolized according to specifications encoded in the accompanying style file, and using the supplied Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) GeoAge font for labeling formations and GeoSym fonts for structural line decorations and orientation measurement symbols, this data release presents the Geologic Map as shown on the published GQ-1304 map sheet. These GIS data augment but do not supersede the information presented on GQ-1304. Description

This digital elevation model (DEM) is a part of a series of DEMs produced for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Coastal Services Center's Sea Level Rise and Coastal Flooding Impacts Viewer. The DEM includes the 'best available' lidar data known to exist at the time of DEM creation that meets project specifications for those counties within the boundary of the Houston/Galveston TX Weather Forecast Office (WFO), as defined by the NOAA National Weather Service. The counties within this boundary are: Jackson, Matagorda, Brazoria (portion), Harris (portion), Galveston, and Chambers. For all the counties listed, except for Harris, the DEM is derived from LiDAR data sets collected for the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) in 2006 with a point density of 1.4 m GSD. LiDAR data for Harris County was collected in October 2001 by the Harris County Flood Control District Tropical Storm Allison Recovery Project (TSARP) with a point density of 2.0 m GSD. Hydrographic breaklines used in the creation of the DEM were delineated using LiDAR intensity imagery generated from the data sets. The DEM is hydro flattened such that water elevations are less than or equal to 0 meters. The DEM is referenced vertically to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88) with vertical units of meters and horizontally to the North American Datum of 1983 (NAD83). The resolution of the DEM is approximately 10 meters.

    Description

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line File is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The Area Hydrography Shapefile contains the geometry and attributes of both perennial and intermittent area hydrography features, including ponds, lakes, oceans, swamps (up to the U.S. nautical three-mile limit), glaciers, and the area covered by large rivers, streams, and/or canals that are represented as double-line drainage. Single-line drainage water features can be found in the Linear Hydrography Shapefile (LINEARWATER.shp). Linear water features includes single-line drainage water features and artificial path features, where they exist, that run through double-line drainage features such as rivers, streams, and/or canals, and serve as a linear representation of these features.
