TwitterLANDSURVEY_COUNTY_POLY_IN is a 1:24,000-scale polygon shapefile, originally with a projection of Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) North American Datum (NAD) 1983 zone 16. After republishing this shapefile by the IGIO, this data is with a projection of WGS84.This shapefile was derived from a predecessor coverage named "IN_LANDSURVEY." IN_LANDSURVEY is a digital representation of land survey features as represented on the USGS 1:24,000 digital raster graphic (DRG) series. ESRI ArcEdit 8.1 and ESRI ArcView 3.2 were used to extract the following shapefiles from IN_LANDSURVEY: LANDSURVEY_COUNTY_LINE_IN, LANDSURVEY_COUNTY_POLY_IN, LANDSURVEY_SECTIONS_LINE_IN, LANDSURVEY_SECTIONS_POLY_IN, LANDSURVEY_STATE_LINE_IN, LANDSURVEY_STATE_POLY_IN, LANDSURVEY_TOWNSHIPS_LINE_IN, and LANDSURVEY_TOWNSHIPS_POLY_IN.

Data layers showing the current county boundaries, along with layers for imagery statewide collection organized by collection years. This map can be used to determine the image resolution (pixel size) of the different imagery collection areas going back to 2005. These layers were processed and published by Indiana Geographic Information Office (IGIO).

TwitterThe 2015 cartographic boundary KMLs are simplified representations of selected geographic areas from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). These boundary files are specifically designed for small-scale thematic mapping. When possible, generalization is performed with the intent to maintain the hierarchical relationships among geographies and to maintain the alignment of geographies within a file set for a given year. Geographic areas may not align with the same areas from another year. Some geographies are available as nation-based files while others are available only as state-based files. The records in this file allow users to map the parts of Urban Areas that overlap a particular county. After each decennial census, the Census Bureau delineates urban areas that represent densely developed territory, encompassing residential, commercial, and other nonresidential urban land uses. In general, this territory consists of areas of high population density and urban land use resulting in a representation of the "urban footprint." There are two types of urban areas: urbanized areas (UAs) that contain 50,000 or more people and urban clusters (UCs) that contain at least 2,500 people, but fewer than 50,000 people (except in the U.S. Virgin Islands and Guam which each contain urban clusters with populations greater than 50,000). Each urban area is identified by a 5-character numeric census code that may contain leading zeroes. The primary legal divisions of most states are termed counties. In Louisiana, these divisions are known as parishes. In Alaska, which has no counties, the equivalent entities are the organized boroughs, city and boroughs, municipalities, and for the unorganized area, census areas. The latter are delineated cooperatively for statistical purposes by the State of Alaska and the Census Bureau. In four states (Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, and Virginia), there are one or more incorporated places that are independent of any county organization and thus constitute primary divisions of their states. These incorporated places are known as independent cities and are treated as equivalent entities for purposes of data presentation. The District of Columbia and Guam have no primary divisions, and each area is considered an equivalent entity for purposes of data presentation. The Census Bureau treats the following entities as equivalents of counties for purposes of data presentation: Municipios in Puerto Rico, Districts and Islands in American Samoa, Municipalities in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, and Islands in the U.S. Virgin Islands. The entire area of the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Island Areas is covered by counties or equivalent entities. The boundaries for counties and equivalent entities are as of January 1, 2010.

This feature class/shapefile represents electric power transmission lines. Transmission Lines are the system of structures, wires, insulators and associated hardware that carry electric energy from one point to another in an electric power system. Lines are operated at relatively high voltages varying from 69 kV up to 765 kV, and are capable of transmitting large quantities of electricity over long distances. Underground transmission lines are included where sources were available. The following updates have been made since the previous release: 1,166 features added.Users should note that this dataset does not contain all electric power transmission lines in Indiana, especially those at a smaller scale.

From the 2019 TIGER/Line Technical Documentation: The Census Bureau obtains school district boundaries, names, local education agency codes, grade ranges, and school district levels annually from state education officials. The Census Bureau collects this information for the primary purpose of providing the U.S. Department of Education with annual estimates of the number of children aged 5 through 17 in families in poverty within each school district, county, and state. This information serves as the basis for the Department of Education to determine the annual allocation of Title I funding to states and school districts. The 2023 118th Congressional District TIGER/Line Shapefiles include separate shapefiles for elementary, secondary, and unified school districts. The 2020 shapefiles contain information from the 2020 school year (i.e., districts in operation as of January 1, 2020). Unified school districts provide education to children of all school ages. In general, if there is a unified school district, no elementary or secondary school district exists. If there is an elementary school district, the secondary school district may or may not exist. In addition to regular functioning school districts, the TIGER/Line Shapefiles contain pseudoschool districts.

TwitterThe Human Geography Map (World Edition) web map provides a detailed vector basemap with a monochromatic style and content adjusted to support Human Geography information. Where possible, the map content has been adjusted so that it observes WCAG contrast criteria. This basemap, included in the ArcGIS Living Atlas of the World, uses 3 vector tile layers:Human Geography Label, a label reference layer including cities and communities, countries, administrative units, and at larger scales street names.Human Geography Detail, a detail reference layer including administrative boundaries, roads and highways, and larger bodies of water. This layer is designed to be used with a high degree of transparency so that the detail does not compete with your information. It is set at approximately 50% in this web map, but can be adjusted.Human Geography Base, a simple basemap consisting of land areas in a very light gray only. The vector tile layers in this web map are built using the same data sources used for other Esri Vector Basemaps. For details on data sources contributed by the GIS community, view the map of Community Maps Basemap Contributors. Esri Vector Basemaps are updated monthly.Learn more about this basemap from the cartographic designer in Introducing a Human Geography Basemap.Use this MapThis map is designed to be used as a basemap for overlaying other layers of information or as a stand-alone reference map. You can add layers to this web map and save as your own map. If you like, you can add this web map to a custom basemap gallery for others in your organization to use in creating web maps. If you would like to add this map as a layer in other maps you are creating, you may use the tile layer item referenced in this map.

A voting district is a geographical area which is represented by a seat or numerous seats in a legislative body. These boundaries are created by State and local governments for the purpose of administering elections. These boundaries are updated by the Indiana General Assembly by aggregating local data annually, and are often used to build Congress and General Assembly districts during the redistricting process. This dataset contains attributes for the district's county FIPS code, the district name, a full FIPS ID, and what US Congress, General Assembly House, and General Assembly Senate district each polygon resides in. This data is made available by the Indiana General Assembly on an annual basis.
