TwitterRoughly a year has passed since the outbreak of COVID-19, in which South Korea has managed to contain the virus with relative success. However, the pandemic nevertheless caused great harm to the Korean public and the economy. Notably, recent weeks (December 2020) were marked by soaring numbers of infections in South Korea, where infections exceeded 1000 for the first time. Thus, analyzing the covid status data of South Korea may give insight into the trend of the pandemic.
The time period of the data is January 1, 2020 - December 23, 2020. Updates may be provided later.
The covid_kr file contains information such as number of: confirmed cases, released from quarantine, tests, deaths, patients being treated, negative cases, aggregate tests etc.
The gender_age file contains information of cases based on age and gender category.
Please refer to the column descriptions for details :)

TwitterAs of January 2025, the number of regular workers amounted to around **** million, up around *** thousand compared to the same month a year earlier. While the number of regular workers has increased following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, non-regular daily workers were more affected by the pandemic and experienced a decline in employment.

Performance of the forecasting models for imported COVID-19 cases after 12 days.

TwitterOn March 1, 2023, exactly 12,291 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in South Korea. South Korea's handling of the coronavirus (COVID-19) was initially widely praised, though the government's handling of vaccine distribution has been criticized. Seoul and the metropolitan areas were hit especially hard by a few group infections during the second wave in August 2020. This was followed by a fourth wave, driven by the delta variant and low vaccination rates, leading to rising figures. Though the country has since achieved high vaccination rates, the omicron variant led to record new daily cases. Cases once again began to decline in January of 2023.

Started in China, the Wuhan corona-virus is spreading around the world. Also, Korea is currently suffering from a virus that is spreading rapidly. The new coronavirus is difficult to analyze because it spreads through a variety of pathways, including asymptomatic infections.
Also, the infection propagation pattern differs from region to region, which requires specialized analysis for each city. We focused on constructing and analyzing data sets to prevent local infections in Busan City.
The following web app developed for visualizing and analyzing the local infection situation in Busan in a time series. http://corona-busan.co.kr
In Korea, viruses are spreading rapidly due to certain religious activities. To analyze unusual situations, we included religion as a type of infection, and we constructed a confirmatory line over time to quickly identify contaminated areas and minimize additional infections.
Busan_Patient_Path.json In this data include 3-large hierachical category of patient (patient_info, infection_info, route_info)
Pusan National University(PNU) CSE, Chang-Hong Lee, and Jun-Hwan Huh has made the data sets and develop an analysis framework for the public good.

Depression among university students and international university students is an increasing problem globally. This study aimed to clarify the differences on the conditions and determinants of the knowledge, preventive practices and depression of the Chinese international students and local Korean students in South Korea during the COVID-19 pandemic. An online cross-sectional questionnaire including general demographic characteristics, COVID-19-related knowledge, preventive practice, and the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9) was applied from March 23 to April 22, 2020. A total of 533 university students (171 Chinese international students and 362 local South Korean students) were included in the study. The majority of both Chinese international students and local South Korean students had a good comprehension of COVID-19. Chinese international students in South Korea showed better preventive practice than local Korean students, while the proportion of moderate to severe depression of Chinese international students was relatively higher (28.07%) than that of local Korean students (22.38%). Determinants of depression of Chinese international students in South Korea were information satisfaction, likelihood of survival after infection, symptoms of a cough and feelings of discrimination, while for local Korean students were gender, educational level, family, suspected symptoms, self-assessed physical health status, COVID-19 detection, population contact history and online sources of information. These results could be used as a reference for decreasing the depressive symptoms among the university students.
