    COVID Alert CT is Connecticut's voluntary, anonymous, exposure-notification smartphone app. If downloaded, the app will alert users if they have come into close contact with somebody who tests positive for COVID-19.

    This dataset includes the cumulative and weekly activations for COVID Alert CT for iOS and Android smartphones.

    The location of app users is not tracked--the app uses Bluetooth technology to detect when another person with the same app comes within 6 feet. The phones exchange a secure code with the each other to record that they were near. The number of codes issued and claimed is also included in this dataset.

    Data presented are based on a weekly reporting period (Sunday - Saturday). All data are preliminary and are subject to change.

    Reporting of Aggregate Case and Death Count data was discontinued May 11, 2023, with the expiration of the COVID-19 public health emergency declaration. Although these data will continue to be publicly available, this dataset will no longer be updated.This archived public use dataset has 11 data elements reflecting United States COVID-19 community levels for all available counties.The COVID-19 community levels were developed using a combination of three metrics — new COVID-19 admissions per 100,000 population in the past 7 days, the percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied by COVID-19 patients, and total new COVID-19 cases per 100,000 population in the past 7 days. The COVID-19 community level was determined by the higher of the new admissions and inpatient beds metrics, based on the current level of new cases per 100,000 population in the past 7 days. New COVID-19 admissions and the percent of staffed inpatient beds occupied represent the current potential for strain on the health system. Data on new cases acts as an early warning indicator of potential increases in health system strain in the event of a COVID-19 surge.Using these data, the COVID-19 community level was classified as low, medium, or high.COVID-19 Community Levels were used to help communities and individuals make decisions based on their local context and their unique needs.     The COVID Tracking Project collects information from 50 US states, the District of Columbia, and 5 other US territories to provide the most comprehensive testing data we can collect for the novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2. We attempt to include positive and negative results, pending tests, and total people tested for each state or district currently reporting that data.

    Testing is a crucial part of any public health response, and sharing test data is essential to understanding this outbreak. The CDC is currently not publishing complete testing data, so we’re doing our best to collect it from each state and provide it to the public. The information is patchy and inconsistent, so we’re being transparent about what we find and how we handle it—the spreadsheet includes our live comments about changing data and how we’re working with incomplete information.

    As global communities responded to COVID-19, we heard from public health officials that the same type of aggregated, anonymized insights we use in products such as Google Maps would be helpful as they made critical decisions to combat COVID-19. These Community Mobility Reports aimed to provide insights into what changed in response to policies aimed at combating COVID-19. The reports charted movement trends over time by geography, across different categories of places such as retail and recreation, groceries and pharmacies, parks, transit stations, workplaces, and residential.

    Following a trial run and official release on the 24th of September 2020, the NHS COVID-19 app has been downloaded more than 29 million times in England and Wales, as of December 2021. Developed to complement the NHS Test & Trace in England and the Test, Trace and Protect program in Wales, the app is aimed at increasing the speed and accuracy of contact tracing, and includes features such as local area alerts and venue check-in.

    NHS COVID-19 app usage Between the beginning of June 2021 and the end of July 2021, the number of COVID-19 cases in the United Kingdom started rising again, reaching the peak of 54,674 on the 21st of July. In the previous week, it was reported that more than 600 thousand users of the NHS COVID-19 app in England and Wales had received a self-isolation alert or “ping,” causing what has been since renamed by the media as a “pingdemic.” The NHS COVID-19 app, which works using Bluetooth technology, registers the devices that the users have been in proximity of, and is programmed to send alerts to all the traced contacts in case the app users test positive for coronavirus. While the app’s tracing measurements are currently being reviewed to decrease the number of alerts sent, two in 10 users have reported switching off the app’s contact tracing function. Moreover, according to a survey of online users in Great Britain, only 22 percent of the online users who have the app are using it correctly, while one in ten reported deleting the app altogether.

    Travel health pass and COVID-19 apps In 2021, the rolling out of vaccination plans worldwide prompted health institutions and travel companies to start releasing new apps or updating their current ones to function as health passports. With close to 5,7 million downloads in the first half of 2021, the NHS app was the most downloaded app used to show digital certifications. The CovPass app, which is available to residents in Germany, followed with more than 5.56 million downloads as of the second quarter of 2021. According to a February survey of travelers worldwide, the main concerns over the use of digital health passports related to security risks over personal data being hacked and privacy protection.

This dataset displays pharmacies, clinics, and other locations with safe and effective COVID-19 medications. These medications require a prescription from a healthcare provider. Some locations, known as Test to Treat sites, give you the option to get tested, get assessed by a healthcare provider, and receive treatment – all in one visit. COVID-19 medications may be available at additional locations that are not shown in this dataset. The locations displayed have either self-attested they have inventory of Paxlovid (nirmatrelvir packaged with ritonavir), Lagevrio (molnupiravir), or Veklury (Remdesivir) within at least the last two months and/or reported participation in the Paxlovid Patient Assistance Program. Sites that have not reported in the last two weeks display a notification, "Inventory has not been reported in the last 2 weeks. Please contact the provider to make sure the product is available."     Between February and June 2020, the rate of location opt-in by mobile app users in Latin America and the Caribbean grew from roughly ** percent to **** percent. Apart from Western Europe, Eastern Asia, and Eastern Europe, users who agreed to share their location to access mobile app services increased in every region of the world. The increase is due to coronavirus outbreaks worldwide, which led users to firstly spend more time on their devices, and secondly to download and install tracking apps to monitor their exposure to COVID-19.     The data published here are based on the figures reported by the districts and urban districts using the official reporting channel of the Land registration office. Due to the time needed for data collection and transmission, deviations from locally communicated cases may arise. On a case-by-case basis, there may also be a reduction in the number of reported cases, for example where a notification has not been confirmed or the person’s place of residence is outside the circle.

COVID Alert CT is Connecticut's voluntary, anonymous, exposure-notification smartphone app. If downloaded, the app will alert users if they have come into close contact with somebody who tests positive for COVID-19.

This dataset includes the cumulative and weekly activations for COVID Alert CT for iOS and Android smartphones.

The location of app users is not tracked--the app uses Bluetooth technology to detect when another person with the same app comes within 6 feet. The phones exchange a secure code with the each other to record that they were near. The number of codes issued and claimed is also included in this dataset.

Data presented are based on a weekly reporting period (Sunday - Saturday). All data are preliminary and are subject to change.
