    Description

By far, the highest number of crimes reported in Denmark from 2012 to 2022 were property crimes, such as theft and burglary. In 2022, over 276,000 property crimes were reported in the Nordic country, which was less than reported in 2012. Meanwhile, both the number of reported sexual crimes and violent crimes increased over the past 10 years, reaching respectively 9,700 and 31,000 in 2022. The increase in the number of reported sexual offences is partly down to an amendment of the criminal code in 2013, meaning that more cases fell under the category of sexual offences.

Intentional homicide does not include all intentional killing; the difference is usually in the organization of the killing.
