Cloud storage is a modern data storage solution that is created by utilizing remote servers and internet connectivity to store and manage data, rather than relying on traditional local storage methods, such as hard drives or physical servers. It is extensively used for data backup, allowing users and organizations to safeguard their critical information against data loss due to hardware failures or accidents. Additionally, it is widely employed for file sharing and collaboration. Users can easily share documents, images, and other files with colleagues, clients, or collaborators, making it a convenient solution for remote work and team projects. One of the key advantages of cloud storage is its accessibility and scalability. Users can access their stored data from anywhere with an internet connection, making it convenient for remote work or on-the-go access. Furthermore, it can be easily scaled up or down based on the specific storage needs of users or organizations. This scalability eliminates the need to invest in additional hardware as data requirements grow, resulting in cost savings and increased flexibility.
The United States cloud storage market is influenced by several key drivers, such as the increasing adoption of cloud-based solutions across various industries, including healthcare, finance, and retail. As organizations seek to optimize data management and accessibility, cloud storage offers a scalable and cost-effective solution. In line with this, the ongoing digital transformation trends, accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, have fueled the demand for cloud storage services, which is boosting the market growth. Moreover, remote work, online collaboration, and data analytics have become essential, driving companies to leverage cloud storage for secure and efficient data handling. Additionally, data security concerns and regulatory compliance requirements have driven businesses to opt for trusted cloud storage providers that offer robust encryption and compliance features, which is boosting the market growth. Moreover, the growing popularity of hybrid cloud solutions, which combine on-premises infrastructure with cloud storage, is another significant driver. Furthermore, the need for disaster recovery and business continuity planning has led to increased adoption of cloud storage as a reliable backup solution, which is favoring the market growth in the country.

The purpose of this publication is to provide numerical insight into the Dutch government archives that fall under the 1995 Archives Act and that are managed by archive services or secretaries of municipalities or water boards. The publication provides a description of the size and nature of these archives, their use (e.g. visitor numbers), accessibility, state of repair, staff composition and the finances of archive services. Archives are divided into dynamic archives and static archives. Dynamic archives are recent archives available for regular consultation. These archives are usually 'within reach' of users and outside the legal archive repositories. As such, they are excluded from this statistic. Static archives store records that fall under the Archives Act and that have been transferred from the (government) agencies where they originated to archive repositories after a period of 10 years. After a certain period of time, this makes the archives available for historical, genealogical or other research. The Archives Act regulates the management of government archives, including the period after which documents must be transferred to a government archive. The Archives Act 1962 and the Archives Decree 1968 were replaced in 1995 by the Archives Act 1995 and the Archives Decree 1995. The statutory transfer period was changed from 50 years to 20 years with effect from 1 January 1996. The government archives are the archives of the central government, provinces, municipalities, water boards and other government bodies. In principle, these archives are static archives: they contain records that must be kept according to the Archives Act. The Archives Act refers to archive records; in this statistic the term archival records is used. Data available from: 1980 Frequency: Discontinued

Archiving Software Market size was valued at USD 8 Billion in 2024 and is projected to reach USD 16 Billion by 2031, growing at a CAGR of 10% during the forecast period 2024-2031.
Global Archiving Software Market Drivers
Explosion of Data and Growth in Volume: One of the main factors propelling the archiving software industry is the exponential rise in data generated by enterprises. As digital transformation programs gain momentum, businesses gather enormous volumes of structured and unstructured data. By securely storing and facilitating easy data retrieval, archiving software assists organizations in managing their data effectively—a critical aspect of preserving operational efficiency.
Data governance and regulatory compliance: Regulations of data management and retention are becoming more and more demanding for organizations. Policies like GDPR, HIPAA, and Sarbanes-Oxley require businesses to hold onto specific data for predetermined amounts of time. By automating data retention and destruction, archiving software helps firms stay compliant and helps them avoid the heavy fines that come with non-compliance.

Several studies have analyzed motives to work in the public versus private sector. However, research on prosocial motivation in the context of public sector employment has largely neglected civic virtue, the motive to contribute to society. This study considers civic virtue in addition to other possible motives, using a representative, longitudinal data set of employees in Germany including 63,180 observations of 13,683 different individuals. We find that civic virtue relates positively to public sector employment beyond altruism, risk aversion, laziness, and (low) financial motivation. The result holds within different branches and is explained by sorting into the sector.

Applicant data refers to information on selected characteristics (e.g. geographical area and educational profile) for applicants to externally advertised processes, via the Post-Secondary Recruitment program (PSR), the Federal Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) and general external recruitment advertisements of departments and agencies. The Public Service Commission (PSC) administers a number of programs to support departments and agencies in their renewal efforts and to enable targeted recruitment based on the skills required for the future. These programs also provide economies of scale for departments and agencies that are undertaking strategic recruitment. To this end, the PSC administers three student employment programs — the Federal Student Work Experience Program, the Research Affiliate Program and the Post-Secondary Co-op/ Internship Program. These programs are designed to provide students with on-the-job assignments where they can develop the skills and knowledge required for entry into the workforce, while meeting the temporary needs of managers.
