All open tree debris removal requests made to 311 and all requests completed since January 1, 2011. Large piles of branches or bushes may be picked up by the Department of Streets and Sanitation. 311 sometimes creates duplicate requests for tree debris removal. When there is an open tree debris request, a duplicate request is created when the exact same address and the exact same service request type are used. Streets and Sanitation responds to the initial request opened and closes the duplicates. A forestry "Clam" is the name of the vehicle the Forestry Bureau deploys to collect tree debris. Description

Selected variables from the most recent 5 year ACS Community Survey (Released 2023) aggregated by Ward. Additional years will be added as they become available. The underlying algorithm to create the dataset calculates the percent of a census tract that falls within the boundaries of a given ward. Given that census tracts and ward boundaries are not aligned, these figures should be considered an estimate. Total Population in this Dataset: 2,649,803 Total Population of Chicago reported by ACS 2023: 2,664,452 % Difference: %-0.55 There are different approaches in common use for displaying Hispanic or Latino population counts. In this dataset, following the approach taken by the Census Bureau, a person who identifies as Hispanic or Latino will also be counted in the race category with which they identify. However, again following the Census Bureau data, there is also a column for White Not Hispanic or Latino. The City of Chicago is actively soliciting community input on how best to represent race, ethnicity, and related concepts in its data and policy. Every dataset, including this one, has a "Contact dataset owner" link in the Actions menu. You can use it to offer any input you wish to share or to indicate if you would be interested in participating in live discussions the City may host. Description

All vehicles reported by Transportation Network Providers (sometimes called rideshare companies) to the City of Chicago as part of routine reporting required by ordinance. Inclusion of a vehicle in a monthly report indicates that the vehicle was eligible for trips in Chicago in that month for at least one day, regardless of whether it actually provided any rides. If a vehicle is eligible in multiple months, which is common, it will have records in each of these reporting months.

As of the creation of this dataset, there have been four TNPs licensed to operate in Chicago, although never more than three at any given time and currently three. Vehicles reported by more than one company in the same month are combined and the MULTIPLE_TNPS column is marked as TRUE. However, the matching process is imperfect so not all such vehicles are necessarily identified.

Information on last inspection date was not required before September 2017 so will not be found in older records.

The reporting is done on a monthly basis, as indicated in the MONTH_REPORTED column. However, starting in 2018, the reports are batched and files for all three months in a quarter are delivered to the City of Chicago at the end of each quarter. Due to an issue in this transition, some vehicle records for Q2 2018 (April-June) were reported for the quarter as a whole, rather than for individual months. For purposes of this dataset, those records have been assigned to 2018-06 (June). Therefore, some caution in interpreting this month and the quarter as a whole is advised.

All open sanitation code complaints made to 311 and all requests completed since January 1, 2011. The Department of Streets and Sanitation investigates and remedies reported violations of Chicago’s sanitation code. Residents may request service for violations such as overflowing dumpsters and garbage in the alley. 311 sometimes receives duplicate sanitation code complaints. Requests that have been labeled as duplicates are in the same geographic area as a previous request and have been entered into 311’s Customer Service Request (CSR) system at around the same time. Duplicate complaints are labeled as such in the status field, as either "Open - Dup" or "Completed - Dup." Description

This dataset reflects reported incidents of crime (with the exception of murders where data exists for each victim) that occurred in the City of Chicago from 2001 to present, minus the most recent seven days. Data is extracted from the Chicago Police Department's CLEAR (Citizen Law Enforcement Analysis and Reporting) system. In order to protect the privacy of crime victims, addresses are shown at the block level only and specific locations are not identified. Should you have questions about this dataset, you may contact the Data Fulfillment and Analysis Division of the Chicago Police Department at DFA@ChicagoPolice.org. Disclaimer: These crimes may be based upon preliminary information supplied to the Police Department by the reporting parties that have not been verified. The preliminary crime classifications may be changed at a later date based upon additional investigation and there is always the possibility of mechanical or human error. Therefore, the Chicago Police Department does not guarantee (either expressed or implied) the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or correct sequencing of the information and the information should not be used for comparison purposes over time. The Chicago Police Department will not be responsible for any error or omission, or for the use of, or the results obtained from the use of this information. All data visualizations on maps should be considered approximate and attempts to derive specific addresses are strictly prohibited.
