The information was extracted from the Driver Licence Register (DLR) and is current as at 1 July 2023.The data is a distinct count of individuals. An snapshot of licence holders is taken every year covering the annual period of 1st July to 30th June which covers Waka Kotahi's financial year. The data is limited to current licence holders with the following licence classes:Class 1 Motor Cars and Light Motor Vehicles - learner, restricted or fullClass 6 Motorcycles, Moped or ATV - learner, restricted or full.An individual licence holder will be included in more than one count if both class 1 and class 6 are held.A licence holder must hold a full Class 1 (Car) licence before they can apply for a heavy vehicle licence. The data is also limited to current licence holders issued with a photo driver licence (PDL).Region is determined by the physical town or suburb recorded for the driver. It may not reflect the driver's current address. We added low-population regions into a 'Misc' grouping. These regions are Gisborne, Tasman and West Coast. We have not included license holders under 16, because the legal age to get a learner's license increased from from 15 to 16 on 1 August 2011.Data quality statement: Address fields are free text and may contain errors which lead to incorrect coding.Addresses in the driver licence register can often be out of date. It’s therefore difficult to establish what proportion of licence holders are actually still based in a certain location.Address fields are updated when we receive notification of a change of address from the licence holder.Notifications for a change of address may come:directly from the licence holder (for example, the licence holder calling the contact centre and updating their address)as an outcome of a transaction against the licence holder on the DLR (including the processing of an application at a driver licensing outlet with an address update).Data quality caveats: See data quality statement.A legacy Excel file is available here (current to 1 July 2023) but will not be updated in future.

Location of all current mineral exploration licences issued under the Mining Act 1971. Exploration licences provide exclusive tenure rights to explore for mineral resources for up to a maximum of 5 years. Comment is sought on applications for exploration licences from numerous sources before granting. Exploration programs are subject to strict environmental and heritage conditions. Exploitation of identified resources must be made under separate mineral production leases.
Purpose:
The dataset was developed to record information necessary for the administration of the Mining Act.
Use:
Used to supply government, industry and the general public with an up-to-date status and extent of mineral and/or opal exploration licence application activities throughout the state.
Use limitation:
The data should not be used at a scale larger than 1:50 000.
Lineage:
Source data history: Exploration Licence application boundaries were sourced from the official Mining Register licence application documents. Licence application boundaries are legally defined to follow lines of latitude and longitude. The register has existed since 1930.
Processing steps: Coordinates entered by keyboard from licence application documents. Linework cleaned to remove duplicate arcs. Data adjusted for accurate state border and coastline. Where appropriate cadastral parcels removed from licence application polygons. Associated attribute data also captured from licence application documents.

We introduce a large-scale dataset of the complete texts of free/open source software (FOSS) license variants. To assemble it we have collected from the Software Heritage archive—the largest publicly available archive of FOSS source code with accompanying development history—all versions of files whose names are commonly used to convey licensing terms to software users and developers. The dataset consists of 6.5 million unique license files that can be used to conduct empirical studies on open source licensing, training of automated license classifiers, natural language processing (NLP) analyses of legal texts, as well as historical and phylogenetic studies on FOSS licensing. Additional metadata about shipped license files are also provided, making the dataset ready to use in various contexts; they include: file length measures, detected MIME type, detected SPDX license (using ScanCode), example origin (e.g., GitHub repository), oldest public commit in which the license appeared. The dataset is released as open data as an archive file containing all deduplicated license blobs, plus several portable CSV files for metadata, referencing blobs via cryptographic checksums.

This dataset is adapted from an extract from the QLD Dept of Natural Resource and Mines licensing data from the water management system. The dataset includes basic right (domestic & stock) licences as well as surface water licences (eg. irigation, town supply etc). Surface water licences can have an allocation as megalitres or a right to irrigate a certain number of hectares. There is no basic conversion to determine how many megalites/hecatre. The volume allocated for domestic and stock also varies based on the management area. This information can be found resource operations plan or water sharing rules.
For licences that do not have a offtake lat/long, this has been linked to the Cadastre information (also provided by DNRM) that ties the offtake to the centroid of the property.
Although this is not 100% accurate, it now allows future users of the surface water licences to be able to plot locations within a catchment.
In all cases, the 'off-take lat' and 'off-take long' should be used where available. This is the location provided from the licensing system where one was available. Where no location is provided for the offtake, the 'centroid lat' and 'centroid long' should be used.
DNRM counld not supply GIS layers for the water management areas refered to in the dataset.
An additional column, 'asset class' was also added to the dataset for the purpose of the economic asset database. "Asset Class'aggregates the purpose of the licence into the set classes for the Asset Database. Where purpose = domestic; or domestic & stock; or stock then it was classed as 'basic water right'. Where it is listed as both a domestic/stock and a licensed use such as irrigation, it was classed as a 'water access right.' All other take and use were classed as a 'water access right'.

Active Dog Licenses.
All dog owners residing in NYC are required by law to license their dogs. The data is sourced from the DOHMH Dog Licensing System (https://a816-healthpsi.nyc.gov/DogLicense), where owners can apply for and renew dog licenses. Each record represents a unique dog license that was active during the year, but not necessarily a unique record per dog, since a license that is renewed during the year results in a separate record of an active license period. Each record stands as a unique license period for the dog over the course of the yearlong time frame.

This file/dataset contains tables of the number of individuals with no licence, a learner licence, a restricted licence, and a full licence as of 6 March 2018 for various subpopulations. Licences are standard licences (not diplomatic or pseudo licence) for motor cars and light motor vehicles only.
This dataset is published as Open DataLicense Boards, established by Local Authorities, manage alcohol and public entertainment licenses, make decisions on applications, review appeals, and set local policies. Civic Licenses for activities like street trading and late-night refreshment are also administered to ensure standards and regulations are met, safeguarding public welfare. Additionally, Local Authorities regulate taxi services, ensuring driver competence and vehicle safety. This comprehensive oversight maintains public safety and upholds standards across licensed activities in Scotland.
