    Description

We estimate intergenerational income mobility in Italy using administrative data from tax returns. Our estimates of mobility in Italy are higher than prior work using survey data and other indirect methods. The rank-rank slope of parent-child income in Italy is 0.22, compared to 0.18 in Denmark and 0.34 in the United States. The probability that a child reaches the top quintile of the national income distribution starting from a family in the bottom quintile is 0.11. Upward mobility is higher for sons and first-born children. We uncover substantial geographical variation: upward mobility rates are much higher in Northern Italy, where provinces have higher measured school quality, more stable families, and more favorable labor market conditions.

    Description

We study labor mobility among academic economists in the US. Analyzing CV data from over 6,000 economists at R1 institutions, we document that female Assistant and Associate Professors are 8 percentage points less likely to move with promotion than their male counterparts. Women are also more likely than men to relocate to lower-ranked institutions. Event study graphs reveal that men working in departments that receive a new faculty member see their publication output increase by more than twice as much as that of women in these departments. Our findings highlight significant gender differences in who moves and what happens after.

    Description

This data release contains instantaneous streamflow measurements made at 14 partial-record streamgaging stations in Acadia National Park from May through September 2006 to 2020. It includes R code to support Maintenance of Variance Extension Type 1 (MOVE.1) record-extension regression equations for 10 of those partial-record stations that can be used to extend the record of the partial-record station during base-flow conditions using an index station, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) continuous-record streamgage Otter Creek near Bar Habor, Maine (USGS 01022840). An additional four partial-record stations did not correlate well with any continuous-record station tested. The R code was used to develop MOVE.1 record-extension equations and compute mean and median monthly streamflows at 10 of the 14 partial-record stations Partial-record stations were established in 2006 as part of the Northeast Temperate Network (NETN) monitoring program. Tables that accompany a USGS Scientific Investigations Report (Lombard, 2023) that documents the methods and results of the MOVE.1 record extensions are included in this data release and include a summary of continuous-record stations tested for use as index stations, partial-record stations, MOVE.1 equations, and monthly means and medians at the partial-record stations.

    Description

    Introduction

This data set was scraped from the site https://www.the-numbers.com/ using Python 3. it has data of more than 13k movies - and contains monetary data (Domestic Box Office, Infl. Adj. Dom. BO, Opening Weekend, and more) as well as "creative" cinema data (Comparisons, Creative Type, Genre, and more). The complete scraping code I wrote to create the data set is available in my profile: https://www.kaggle.com/code/mayasoffer/movies-data-scraper

    Important Info

Please note, that the data was scraped fully from the "The-numbers" website, therefore: - There is some missing data in accordance with the missing data on the site. - The scraping was committed on 01.03.22 (March 2022) so all the data is true to that time. - For more data on how the columns were created and where the site got that data initially, please look into the site itself. - Lastly, note that I scraped the data and saved it as CSV. however, all the columns were scraped in their original form - how they were written on the website. so some "cleaning" of the columns is necessary before any analysis can take place.

    Inspiration

The data is very diverse and contains a lot of different columns and goes back to 1995. so the analysis options are many. here are a few analysis leads I thought about: - How have genres changed throughout the years? what genres are the most popular throughout the years? (revenue-wise, legs, opening week...). new genres that gained popularity (animation for example) - Does MPAA rating impact revenue? and much more...

Thank you for using my dataset!
