Bio-ORACLE is a set of GIS rasters providing geophysical, biotic and environmental data for surface and benthic marine realms. The data are available for global-scale applications at a spatial resolution of 5 arcmin (approximately 9.2 km at the equator).
Linking biodiversity occurrence data to the physical and biotic environment provides a framework to formulate hypotheses about the ecological processes governing spatial and temporal patterns in biodiversity, which can be useful for marine ecosystem management and conservation.
Bio-ORACLE offers a user-friendly solution to accomplish this task by providing 18 global geophysical, biotic and climate layers at a common spatial resolution (5 arcmin) and a uniform landmask.
The data available in Bio-ORACLE are documented in two peer reviewed articles that you should cite: Tyberghein L, Verbruggen H, Pauly K, Troupin C, Mineur F, De Clerck O (2012) Bio-ORACLE: A global environmental dataset for marine species distribution modelling. All data dictionaries held in Oracle. They include both administrative (e.g. codes for companies), scientific (e.g. codes for deformation episodes) and geographic (e.g. codes for countries). Typically, they are used to constrain the allowable values held in other Oracle datasets. In some cases they are an implementation of the classifications that the BGS uses in its work.

The DXC Framework is a collection of programs and APIs for running and evaluating diagnostic algorithms (DAs) under identical experimental conditions. It is complementary to system XML catalogs and data sets.
The Oracle is new to DXC'10 and provides a querying capability to the DAs to determine the correct actions for given faults. Because the oracle uses proprietary NASA software, it is provided only in binary form. Thus the framework is available as a windows binary installer, linux source files + binary oracle, or windows source files + binary oracle. Please see the included READMEs and example DAs for more information.

AbstractPresent day global business environment presents numerous security threats and compliance challenges. To protect against data thefts and frauds we require security solutions that aretransparent by design. The present study deals with Transparent Data Encryption which is a technology used to solve the problems of security of data. Transparent Data Encryption means encryptingdatabases on hard disk and on any backup media. Transparent Data Encryption provides transparent, standards-based security that protects data on the network, on disk and on backup media. It is easy and effective protection of stored data by transparently encrypting data. Transparent Data Encryption can be used to provide high levels of security to columns, table and tablespacethat is database files stored on hard drives or floppy disks or CD’s, and other information that requires protection. It is the technology used by Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Oracle 10g and 11g to encrypt database contents. The term encryption means thepiece of information encoded in such a way that it can only be decoded read and understood by people for whom the information is intended. The study deals with ways to create Master Key, creation of certificate protected by the master key, creation ofdatabase master key and protection by the certificate and ways to set the database to use encryption in Microsoft SQL Server 2008,Oracle 10g and 11g.
As of June 2024, the most popular database management system (DBMS) worldwide was Oracle, with a ranking score of 1244.08; MySQL and Microsoft SQL server rounded out the top three. Although the database management industry contains some of the largest companies in the tech industry, such as Microsoft, Oracle and IBM, a number of free and open-source DBMSs such as PostgreSQL and MariaDB remain competitive. Database Management Systems As the name implies, DBMSs provide a platform through which developers can organize, update, and control large databases. Given the business world’s growing focus on big data and data analytics, knowledge of SQL programming languages has become an important asset for software developers around the world, and database management skills are seen as highly desirable. In addition to providing developers with the tools needed to operate databases, DBMS are also integral to the way that consumers access information through applications, which further illustrates the importance of the software.

In that year, Oracle brought in annual revenue of close to 52 billion U.S. dollars, its highest revenue figure to date. Oracle Corporation Oracle was founded by Larry Ellison in 1977 as a tech company primarily focused on relational databases. Today, Oracle ranks among the largest companies in the world in terms of market value and serves as the world’s most popular database management system provider. Oracle’s success is not only reflected in its booming sales figures, but also in its growing number of employees: between fiscal year 2008 and 2021, Oracle’s total employee number has grown substantially, increasing from around 84,000 to 132,000. Database market The global database market reached a size of 65 billion U.S. dollars in 2020. Database Management Systems (DBMSs) provide a platform through which developers can organize, update, and control large databases, with products like Oracle, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server being the most widely used in the market.
