These campaigns were performed at the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) in 2017 and 2018. The load cases (LC) considered include:
LC1 – Load measurements across semi under current loading;
LC2 - Load measurements across semi under forced surge oscillation;
LC3 – Load measurements across semi under wave loading, while held fixed;
LC4 – Free-decay motion measurements in surge, pitch, and heave; and
LC5 – Motion measurements under wave loading.
Details on the results from the OC6 Phase Ia project can be found in the reference, “OC6 Phase 1: Investigating the underprediction of low-frequency hydrodynamic loads and responses of floating wind turbines”, J Phys: Conf Series 1618 032033.
Data Details
The naming of the datafiles follows the convention: oc6.phase1a.name.loadcase.txt. The experimental measurements use the name “EXP0”. Simulation results are also provided from those that participated in the OC6 Phase Ia validation project. The suffix “.txt” is replaced with “.tot” and “.hyd” and for load cases 1 and 2, representing the total load measurement, and just the hydrodynamic component.

Numerous studies make extensive use of healthcare data, including human materials and clinical information, and acknowledge its significance. However, limitations in data collection methods can impact the quality of healthcare data obtained from multiple institutions. In order to secure high-quality data related to human materials, research focused on data quality is necessary. This study validated the quality of data collected in 2020 from 16 institutions constituting the Korea Biobank Network using 104 validation rules. The validation rules were developed based on the DQ4HEALTH model and were divided into four dimensions: completeness, validity, accuracy, and uniqueness. Korea Biobank Network collects and manages human materials and clinical information from multiple biobanks, and is in the process of developing a common data model for data integration. The results of the data quality verification revealed an error rate of 0.74%. Furthermore, an analysis of the data from each institution was performed to examine the relationship between the institution’s characteristics and error count. The results from a chi-square test indicated that there was an independent correlation between each institution and its error count. To confirm this correlation between error counts and the characteristics of each institution, a correlation analysis was conducted. The results, shown in a graph, revealed the relationship between factors that had high correlation coefficients and the error count. The findings suggest that the data quality was impacted by biases in the evaluation system, including the institution’s IT environment, infrastructure, and the number of collected samples. These results highlight the need to consider the scalability of research quality when evaluating clinical epidemiological information linked to human materials in future validation studies of data quality.

In this paper we give an overview of factors and limitations impairing deep-sea sensor data, and we show how automatic tests can give sensors self-validation and self-diagnostic capabilities. This work is intended to lay a basis for sophisticated use of smart sensors in long-term autonomous operation in remote deep-sea locations. Deep-sea observation relies on data from sensors operating in remote, harsh environments which may affect sensor output if uncorrected. In addition to the environmental impact, sensors are subject to limitations regarding power, communication, and limitations on recalibration. To obtain long-term measurements of larger deep-sea areas, fixed platform sensors on the ocean floor may be deployed for several years. As for any observation systems, data collected by deep-sea observation equipment are of limited use if the quality or accuracy (closeness of agreement between the measurement and the true value) is not known. If data from a faulty sensor are used directly, this may result in an erroneous understanding of deep water conditions, or important changes or conditions may not be detected. Faulty sensor data may significantly weaken the overall quality of the combined data from several sensors or any derived model. This is particularly an issue for wireless sensor networks covering large areas, where the overall measurement performance of the network is highly dependent on the data quality from individual sensors. Existing quality control manuals and initiatives for best practice typically recommend a selection of (near) real-time automated checks. These are mostly limited to basic and straight forward verification of metadata and data format, and data value or transition checks against pre-defined thresholds. Delayed-mode inspection is often recommended before a final data quality stamp is assigned.
The Validator extension for CKAN enables data validation within the CKAN ecosystem, leveraging the 'goodtables' library. This allows users to ensure the quality and integrity of tabular data resources published and managed within their CKAN instances. By integrating data validation capabilities, the extension aims to improve data reliability and usability. Key Features: Data Validation using Goodtables: Utilizes the 'goodtables' library for validating tabular data resources, providing a standardized and robust validation process. Automated Validation: Automatically validate packages, resources or datasets upon each upload or update. Technical Integration: Given the limited information in the README, it can be assumed that the extension integrates with the CKAN resource creation and editing workflow. The extension likely adds validation steps to the data upload and modification process, possibly providing feedback to users on any data quality issues detected. Benefits & Impact: By implementing the Validator extension, data publishers increase the reliability and reusability of data resources. This directly improves data quality control, enhances collaboration, lowers the risk of data-driven problems in data applications, and creates opportunities for data-driven organizations to scale up.

The Garamba land cover and change dataset covers an area of 265 976km2 and mapped with dichotomous (8 land cover classes) and modular (up to 32 land cover classes) levels based on FAO's Land Cover Classification System (LCCS). High-resolution optical satellite imagery were used to generate dense time-series data from which the thematic land cover and change maps were derived (LC: 2017, LCC: 2000, 2019). The maps were fully verified and validated by an independent team to achieve the Copernicus Global Land Monitoring Programme's strict data quality requirements. An independent validation dataset was also collected and it is shared here. The validation dataset contains 7168 (2000-2017) and 4647 (2017-2019) verified land cover points based on the [up to] 32 modular (2000-2017) and [up to] 14 aggregated (2017-2019) level land cover classes. Furthermore, two predefined symbology (QGIS legend files) for the land cover and validation datasets based on FAO's LCCS is also shared here to ease the visualization of them (Dichotomous and Modular levels). Further details regarding the sites selection, mapping and validation procedures are described in the corresponding publication: Szantoi, Zoltan; Brink, Andreas; Lupi, Andrea (2021): An update and beyond: key landscapes for conservation land cover and change monitoring, thematic and validation datasets for the African, Caribbean and Pacific region (in review, [Earth System Science Data|https://www.earth-system-science-data.net/]).
