This data set includes sub-sampled versions of Viking Orbiter images that are intended to facilitate rapid viewing of the image collection. The image data in these browse images have been reduced in size by sub-sampling the original image by a factor of 4 in both lines and samples. Thus, the data volume has been reduced by a factor of 16. A Viking Orbiter browse image contains 264 lines and 300 samples. A filtering procedure was used in generating the browse images because Viking Orbiter images commonly contain noisy data or are missing data. The brightness value of a pixel in a browse image is the median brightness value of an array of 4 by 4 pixels from the original image. If the 4 by 4 array of original pixels contained zero values, those zero value pixels were not used in determining the median value. Of course, if the entire 4 by 4 array contained zero value pixels, the corresponding pixel in the browse image was assigned a zero value.

The Juno Waves EDR complete data set includes all Waves science and housekeeping data for the entire Juno mission. This data set consists of reformatted, uncalibrated, spectra and waveforms as well as unaltered housekeeping packets. The reformatting operation re-assembles measurements which were too long to fit with in a single transmission unit to the Juno flight data system as well as decompressing data that were transmitted in compressed form. The data for this set were acquired from the Waves Low Frequency Receiver (LFR), High Frequency Receivers (HFR-44, HFR-45), as well as the Digital Signal Processor's housekeeping output. This data set is intended to preserve the uncalibrated instrument packets and is to be used only as a last resort. Other Waves archived data sets are designed to be complete and more easily used. Browse images associated with the other data sets provide a graphical search of the data included in this data set.
Abstract ======== This data set consists of the Juno FGM calibrated cruise observations. The FGM sensor block uses two miniature ring-core fluxgate sensors to measure the magnetic field in three components of the vector field. There are multiple FGM data products to accomodate different coordinate systems.
This data set is a digital archive of images acquired by the Viking Orbiter 1 and 2 spacecraft. The archive will include the best available Experiment Data Record (EDR) versions of images acquired by the Viking Orbiter Visual Imaging Subsystems (VIS). The archive is stored on compact read-only optical disk media (CD-ROM) for distribution. The EDR image data are stored on CD-ROM in a compressed format that allows exact reconstruction of the original image. The images were compressed in order to reduce the number of CD-ROMs required for the archive. The average Viking Orbiter image is compressed by a factor of about 3.5. Each CD-ROM in the archive also includes documentation about the organization and contents of the disk. Software is included to provide programmers with tools to decompress image files. The CD-ROM has index files containing information about all the images stored in the archive. These index files can be loaded into a database management system to help the user locate images of interest.
The NARSTO_EPA_SS_BALTIMORE_JHU_MET_DATA is the North American Research Strategy for Tropospheric Ozone (NARSTO) Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Supersite (SS) Baltimore, Johns Hopkins University Meteorolgical Data product. This product containsmeteorological and turbulence measurements that were recorded using a diverse array of instruments by the Parlange Environmental Fluid Mechanics Group, Department of Geography and Environmental Engineering, JHU at the EPA Baltimore Supersite. Measurements were made at three Baltimore locations over the indicated time intervals: FMC Corporation (May 26 - June 15, 2001), Clifton Park (July 1 - September 14, 2001), and Ponca Street (February 13, 2002 - March 15, 2003).The instruments were mounted on an 11m tall meteorological tower on the site. The instrumentation consisted of a 3d sonic anemometer-thermometer, pyranometer, wind vane, tipping bucket rain collector, 2 cup anemometers, temperature and relative humidity probe and pressure sensor. The data were collected on a continuous basis and were subsequently subjected to multiple cycles of data validation to ensure correctness and accuracy. The validated data was then averaged over a 5 minute interval to create the final data set. The data set is organized to provide a unique data file for any given day within the operating time duration. Each file contains the variables temperature, relative humidity, mean horizontal wind speed (at 10.39m), horizontal resultant vector mean wind speed, mean horizontal wind speed (at 5.87m), mean horizontal wind angle, std deviation of the wind angle, precipitation, friction velocity, Obukhov length, sensible vertical heat flux, solar radiation, atmospheric pressure, virtual potential temperature, specific humidity and wind angle from sonic anemometer. In addition to usual meteorological variables, this data set also provides information on turbulent mixing (parameterized by the friction velocity) and atmospheric stability (parameterized by the Obukhov length). The Baltimore Supersite collected high-quality ambient air quality measurements with unprecedented temporal resolution at an industrially influenced urban site and two intensive measurement campaigns. A data set of project results was constructed to take advantage of advanced multivariate statistical techniques. Data were collected on the sources and nature of organic aerosol for the region, and large quantities of urban particulate matter (PM) were collected for retrospective chemical, physical, and biological analyses and for toxicological testing. These data provided important information on the potential health effects of particles to support exposure and epidemiological studies for enhanced evaluation of health outcome, pollutant, and source relationships. The EPA PM Supersites Program was an ambient air monitoring research program designed to provide information of value to the atmospheric sciences, and human health and exposure research communities. Eight geographically diverse projects were chosen to specifically address the following EPA research priorities: (1) to characterize PM, its constituents, precursors, co-pollutants, atmospheric transport, and its source categories that affect the PM in any region; (2) to address the research questions and scientific uncertainties about PM source-receptor and exposure-health effects relationships; and (3) to compare and evaluate different methods of characterizing PM including testing new and emerging measurement methods.NARSTO, which has since disbanded, was a public/private partnership, whose membership spanned across government, utilities, industry, and academe throughout Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The primary mission was to coordinate and enhance policy-relevant scientific research and assessment of tropospheric pollution behavior; activities provide input for science-based decision-making and determination of workable, efficient, and effective strategies for local and regional air-pollution management. Data products from local, regional, and international monitoring and research programs are still available.

The ASM-SS dataset is a high spatial resolution (every 10 km per node along the coastline), long-term (over 80 years from 1940 to 2020), quasi-global (within 45°S-45°N), hourly data-driven storm surge dataset. Each NetCDF file includes five parameters: longitude, latitude, nodes, time, and surge level. Longitude and latitude are the location information of nodes in degree; the unit of time is accumulated hours since 1900-01-01 00:00:00; surge levels are given in meters. Users can use longitude, latitude, and time as keywords to select surge levels at nodes of interest within a target period.

The Cassini Radio and Plasma Wave Science (RPWS) edited full resolution data set includes all waveform data for the entire Cassini mission. This data set includes uncalibrated values for each waveform channel for each sensor for all times during the mission including the second Venus flyby, the Earth flyby, the Jupiter flyby, interplanetary cruise, and the entire Saturn tour. Data for this data set are acquired from the RPWS Waveform Receiver (WFR). Data are presented in a set of time series organized so as to have fixed-length records for ease in data handling. Data from the different WFR modes (i.e. 2.5-kHz and 26 Hz modes) are segregated into separate files. This data set includes all waveform data acquired by the RPWS. A browse data set is included with these data which provides for a graphical search of the data using a series of thumbnail and full-sized spectrograms which lead the user to the particular data file(s) of interest. The waveform data provide the highest resolution data from the RPWS instrument in the form of a set of waveform series for these two bandwidths and can be used, when data from two electric and three magnetic sensors are available, to perform wave-normal analyses on various plasma wave phenomena. These data can be used in their original time domain in order to look for solitary features such as dust impacts or electrostatic solitary waves. Or, they can be transformed into the frequency domain in order to examine the detailed time and spectral evolution of plasma waves or radio emissions or to do the wave-normal analysis. Usually, this data set includes time series measurements from more than one (up to five) sensors at a time and the samples are made simultaneously for all five sensors.
