    As of June 2024, 81 percent of internet users in China were aware of the country's privacy law, the draft Personal Data Protection Bill, thus leading among respondents from other countries. Internet users from France ranked second regarding privacy laws awareness, with roughly 73 percent. Mexico followed, with 66 percent of the respondents stating they knew of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). On average, 53 percent of respondents across all surveyed countries were aware of their local privacy laws.

    Dataset containing information related to non-NYPD Subjects involved in Force Incidents. The Threat, Resistance, or Injury (TRI) Report is the primary means by which the NYPD records use of force incidents. All reportable instances of force – whether used by a member of the Department, or against the member – are recorded on a TRI Report. Data provided here are a result of the information captured on TRI Reports. Each record corresponds to a non-NYPD subject involved in a force incident. The data can be used to explore the various categories of force incidents and when and in which precinct they occurred. For any given incident, there may be one or more members of service involved. Since NYPD policy requires two-person patrols, most incidents will have at least two members. The data is used to populate the public facing Force Dashboard.     Data Set Information:

    This data approach student achievement in secondary education of two Portuguese schools. The data attributes include student grades, demographic, social and school related features) and it was collected by using school reports and questionnaires. Two datasets are provided regarding the performance in two distinct subjects: Mathematics (mat) and Portuguese language (por). In [Cortez and Silva, 2008], the two datasets were modeled under binary/five-level classification and regression tasks. Important note: the target attribute G3 has a strong correlation with attributes G2 and G1. This occurs because G3 is the final year grade (issued at the 3rd period), while G1 and G2 correspond to the 1st and 2nd period grades. It is more difficult to predict G3 without G2 and G1, but such prediction is much more useful (see paper source for more details).

    At a time when OECD and partner countries are trying to figure out how to reduce burgeoning debt and make the most of shrinking public budgets, spending on education is an obvious target for scrutiny. Education officials, teachers, policy makers, parents and students struggle to determine the merits of shorter or longer school days or school years, how much time should be allotted to various subjects, and the usefulness of after-school lessons and independent study. This report focuses on how students use learning time, both in and out of school. What are the ideal conditions to ensure that students use their learning time efficiently? What can schools do to maximise the learning that occurs during the limited amount of time students spend in class? In what kinds of lessons does learning time reap the most benefits? And how can this be determined? The report draws on data from the 2006 cycle of the Programme of International Student Assessment (PISA) to describe differences across and within countries in how much time students spend studying different subjects, how much time they spend in different types of learning activities, how they allocate their learning time and how they perform academically.

    This repository contains data from a study to investigate possible effects of vection on postural control. The data contain two variables (anterior-posterior displacement and total length of trajectory) describing posture, and three variables (rating, latency and duration) describing vection. The experiment used three visual field conditions and five amplitude conditions; posture and vection variables are available for each condition. See Horiuchi et al. (2021) for details.

    The data set comprises posture and vection data collected from 19 participants using a Wii fit board and Wii remote. The variables presented in the data set have been calculated from the raw data (see technical document for information). The experiment used 15 experimental conditions, and the variables are presented for each participant in each condition.

    Description

    Everyday clinical care generates vast amounts of digital data. A broad range of actors are interested in reusing these data for various purposes. Such reuse of health data could support medical research, healthcare planning, technological innovation, and lead to increased financial revenue. Yet, reuse also raises questions about what data subjects think about the use of health data for various different purposes. Based on a survey with 1071 respondents conducted in 2021 in Denmark, this article explores attitudes to health data reuse. Denmark is renowned for its advanced integration of data infrastructures, facilitating data reuse. This is therefore a relevant setting from which to explore public attitudes to reuse, both as authorities around the globe are currently working to facilitate data reuse opportunities, and in the light of the recent agreement on the establishment in 2024 of the European Health Data Space (EHDS) within the European Union (EU). Our study suggests that there are certain forms of health data reuse—namely transnational data sharing, commercial involvement, and use of data as national economic assets—which risk undermining public support for health data reuse. However, some of the purposes that the EHDS is supposed to facilitate are these three controversial purposes. Failure to address these public concerns could well challenge the long-term legitimacy and sustainability of the data infrastructures currently under construction.

    The National Center for Education Statistics’ (NCES) Education Demographic and Geographic Estimate (EDGE) program develops annually updated school district boundary composite files that include public elementary, secondary, and unified school district boundaries clipped to the U.S. shoreline. School districts are special-purpose governments and administrative units designed by state and local officials to provide public education for local residents. District boundaries are collected for NCES by the U.S. Census Bureau to develop demographic estimates and to support educational research and program administration. The NCES Common Core of Data (CCD) program is an annual collection of basic administrative characteristics for all public schools, school districts, and state education agencies in the United States. These characteristics are reported by state education officials and include directory information, number of students, number of teachers, grade span, and other conditions. The administrative attributes in this layer were developed from the 2020-2021 CCD collection.
