Introduction This reference data provides a standard list of values for all Canadian provinces and territories. The list reflects Canada’s 13 major political units. There are many coding systems for Canadian provinces and territories. The data standard shows the relationships among the recommended code and other common codes. Purpose This list is intended to standardize the way Canadian provinces and territories are described in datasets to enable data interoperability and improve data quality. Not included in this standard are previous names, abbreviations and codes for provinces and territories. When changes occur in the future, version history will be maintained. Applicability Use of the codes within the “Alpha Code” column is recommended when sharing data within the federal government or publishing data to the Open Government Portal. This alpha code was chosen for three reasons: 1. it is comprehensible for users 2. it is closely aligned with the ISO 3166-2 code for subdivision and is identical to the Canada Post abbreviation 3. it has already been adopted by a number of federal departments The Alpha Code exactly matches the set of codes created and managed by Canada Post. If Canada Post changes its codes, the Government of Canada will review and separately approve any changes to this reference standard. If it is necessary to use a numerical code in a data system, then the numerical code created by Statistics Canada is included in the table. This dataset is part of the Geographical repository maintained by Opendatasoft.'Province' and 'territory' refer to the major political units of Canada. From a statistical point of view, province and territory are basic areas for which data are tabulated. Canada is divided into 10 provinces and 3 territories. Statistics Canada uses standard codes and abbreviations to represent provinces and territories. The two-digit code that uniquely identifies each province/territory is based on the Standard Geographical Classification (SGC). The code is assigned from east to west. The first digit represents the geographical region of Canada in which the province/territory is located and the second digit denotes one of the 10 provinces and 3 territories.Processors and tools are using this data.EnhancementsAdded ISO 3166-3 codes.Simplify geometries to provide better performance across the services.

This table contains figures on the expenditures and revenues per task (policy area) by province in millions of euros and in euros per inhabitant. The figures presented are based on data that is in line with the definitions and classifications used by the provinces themselves in their administration. The presented figures are based on data that adhere to the definitions and classifications that provinces themselves use in their administration. These data are supplied to Statistics Netherlands through the questionnaire called Information for Third Parties (Iv3). The directives for this questionnaire have been laid down in the Directive for Budgeting and Accounting for provinces and municipalities (BBV).
Data available from: 2017
Status of the figures: The figures in this table are provisional at the time of first publication. Upon the second publication one year later, the figures will become definitive.
Changes as of 16 December 2024: The provisional figures for 2023 have been added. The figures for 2022 are definite.
Province of Utrecht When the provisional data for the reporting year 2018 were published, the province of Utrecht did not yet have an qualified auditor's report on its financial statements. Halfway 2020 however an qualified auditors report was issued. As a result the 2018 data regarding the province of Utrecht may have been adjusted so that they are now in accordance with the approved 2018 financial statements.
When will new figures be published? The new figures from the provincial accounts are published no later than 12 months after the reporting period. The figures can be adjusted on the basis of the availability of new or updated source material. In general, the adjustments are small. The adjustments are made the moment a new annual figure is added to the series.
Because of changes in the source material, Information for Third Parties (Iv3), the data are no longer completely comparable with data from earlier years as of the publication of the figures of the 2017 budgets. In the administration of provinces the classification of expenditures and revenues by task is sometimes revised, which could cause (small) shifts between tasks between the years 2017 and 2018.
More information on these changes can be found in paragraph 3 under 'relevant tables'.
This is a MD iMAP hosted service layer. Find more information at http://imap.maryland.gov. This data layer contains the Province-level physiographic subdivisions of Maryland in ArcGIS format. The file was developed from components of a detailed digital physiographic map of Maryland by James P. Reger and Emery T. Cleaves - currently in progress. Physiography is the study and classification of the natural landscape of the earth and the landforms that comprise it. The approach for the detailed physiographic map of Maryland is hierarchical and descriptive. Subdivisions are based on similarities (within) and differences (among) geologic structure - rock type - geomorphic history - and topographic characteristics. Data and subdivisions were compiled at a 1:100 - 000 scale for the detailed state-wide map. The hierarchical classification of the detailed physiographic map (in progress) includes subdivisions as follows - in descending order (and generally decreasing size): Province - Section - Region - District - Area. In Maryland there are portions of five physiographic Provinces. In this file - the polygons reflect Province level subdivision. The polygon feature attribute table has been developed to pertain only to the Provinces level. The table includes information on dominant rock types - geologic structure - topographic relief - and drainage pattern.Physiography is the study and classification of the natural landscape of the earth and the landforms that comprise it. The USGS Central Region Energy Team assesses oil and gas resources of the United States. The onshore and State water areas of the United States comprise 71 provinces. Within these provinces, hydrocarbon plays or assessment units are defined and assessed. Each of these provinces is defined geologically, and most province boundaries are defined by major geologic changes. The province boundaries were drawn on the county lines that most closely followed the natural geologic boundaries.

This publication contains a spatial database of bedrock geological features of the Archean Slavecraton of Northwest Territories and Nunavut. The database was developed by interpretation ofsatellite and aeromagnetic data in conjunction with bedrock maps, from both proprietary andnon-proprietary sources, and has allowed generation of new data and reinterpretation ofgeological relationships. Rock units are classified into a harmonized legend with pan-Slaveapplicability. Point data, including kimberlite locations and geochronological sample sites, forman integral component of the database. The traces of numerous interpreted and mappedfaults, diabase dykes, and topographical lineaments contribute to significant advancements inthe understanding of the Slave’s crustal fracture systems. This compilation builds upon a similar product released by the Northwest Territories GeologicalSurvey (formerly the Northwest Territories Geoscience Office) in 2005 as NWT-NU Open File2005-01. Upgrade, revision, and expansion of geological information primarily by M. Stubley;database design and integrity, and topological consistency by D. Irwin. Both the NorthwestTerritories Geological Survey and the Canada-Nunavut Geoscience Office, the latter throughNRCan, provided financial support to M. Stubley. The compilation was created using ArcMap 10.6.1, and is amenable to integration to other GISplatforms. All data is projected to Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) Zone 12 North usingNorth American Datum 1983 (NAD83). The accuracy of geological relationships reflects thesource data. Many areas are valid at scales of 1:30,000 to 1:50,000, but more-detailed sourcedata are simplified prior to incorporation.NWT Open File 2019-01 contains information on data sources related to this dataset and additional geological interpretation.Recommended citation: Stubley, M.P. and Irwin, D., 2019. There are two types of boundary files: cartographic and digital. Cartographic boundary files portray the geographic areas using only the major land mass of Canada and its coastal islands. Digital boundary files portray the full extent of the geographic areas, including the coastal water area.
Ten hydrogeologic provinces of California are represented by a region- class feature called "provinces" within this digital data set. These provinces were identified and defined in the USGS Water Resource Investigation Report (WRIR) 03-4166 (Belitz and others, 2003) titled, "Framework for a Ground-water Quality Monitoring and Assessment Plan for California". Hydrogeologic provinces are generalized areas where hydrology and/or geology have similar characteristics. The Southern Cal Islands group was not previously defined as a province in WRIR 03-4166, and is therefore identified as a group in this dataset.
These provinces were created by grouping polygons from two formally created digital data sets into respective provinces. New polygons were created where necessary. The two digital data set sources consisted of watershed polygons (calwater) and groundwater basin polygons (gw_basins) compiled to create an original publication of hydrogeologic province boundaries in the form of a region-class within the data set. By symbolizing on the region- class, the user can view the ten hydrogeologic provinces and one grouped province in their simplest representation, without watershed and ground- water basin boundaries obscuring the province areas.
Original polygons for both the watershed data set and the ground-water basin data set were retained as much as possible.
