The 1881 Canadian census database is a 100% sample of the 1881 Canadian census, including 4.3 million cases. Since this database covers the entire enumerated Canadian population in 1881, it is one of our most important resources for the study of social and economic organization during Canada 's formative period.

The 1881 Canadain Census gives information about the individual's given name, sex, age, marital status, place of birth, religion, occupation and infirmities.

Aggregate data files digitized from the published census volumes for 1881. The files were downloaded from the University of Saskatchewan Historical Geographic Information Systems Lab. This data were developed as part of the The Canadian Peoples / Les populations canadiennes Project.
