TwitterFrom the site: "This data set is a digital soil survey and generally is the most detailed level of soil geographic data developed by the National Cooperative Soil Survey. The information was prepared by digitizing maps, by compiling information onto a planimetric correct base and digitizing, or by revising digitized maps using remotely sensed and other information. This data set consists of georeferenced digital map data and computerized attribute data. The map data are in a soil survey area extent format and include a detailed, field verified inventory of soils and miscellaneous areas that normally occur in a repeatable pattern on the landscape and that can be cartographically shown at the scale mapped. A special soil features layer (point and line features) is optional. This layer displays the location of features too small to delineate at the mapping scale, but they are large enough and contrasting enough to significantly influence use and management. The soil map units are linked to attributes in the National Soil Information System relational database, which gives the proportionate extent of the component soils and their properties."

TwitterThis dataset includes barrier island land cover types collected from mid-November 2015 to mid-December 2015 along randomly placed transects at seven sites throughout the east end of Dauphin Island. Specifically, this data collection included characterizing land cover types and measuring horizontal position and elevation. We characterized plant community composition and structure for a subset of these points (see Vegetation Survey Data Table). This work was conducted through a joint effort by the State of Alabama, the U.S. Geological Survey, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to evaluate the feasibility of various restoration alternatives and how specific alternatives might increase the resiliency and sustainability of Dauphin Island. The overarching goal of the aforementioned effort is to preserve and enhance the ecological functions and values of the island. This product provides a powerful tool for tracking changes to barrier island habitats over time. This data release includes the following three components, which are included in the attached ZIP file: 1) Dauphin Island Habitat Map (Raster data) 2) Land Cover and Vegetation Field Data Points (Vector data) 3) Vegetation Survey Data (Tabular data)

TwitterThe National Pipeline Mapping System (NPMS) Public Viewer enables the user to view NPMS pipeline, liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant and breakout tank data one county at a time, including attributes and pipeline operator contact information. The user can also view gas transmission and hazardous liquid pipeline accidents and incidents going back to 2002 for the entire US. NPMS pipeline data consists of gas transmission pipelines and hazardous liquid pipelines jurisdictional to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA). It does not contain gas gathering or distribution pipelines, such as lines which deliver gas to a customer 's home. Therefore, not all pipelines in an area will be visible in the Public Viewer. As well, the breakout tank data is not complete as submission of that data is not a requirement. All NPMS data is for reference purposes only. It should never be used as a substitute for contacting a one-call center prior to excavation activities. Please call 811 before any digging occurs.

TwitterThis map combines the Live Stream Gauges layer with Dauphin County municipal boundaries to allow users to view the current readings in their local area. This map has limited the Live Stream Gauges data set to the gauges monitored by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).Information on the amount of water flowing in streams and rivers is critical to the management of water resources, emergency response to flooding, fisheries management, and many other uses. The Live Stream Gauge layer provides access to real-time stream gauge readings compiled from a variety of agencies and organizations. The Live Stream Gauges layer contains real-time measurements of water depth from multiple reporting agencies recording at sensors across the world. This layer uses many live sensor feeds, and updates itself every hour. At some gauges, flow in cubic feet per second is estimated using a stage-discharge rating curve. Flow forecasts are also provided where available. These sensor feeds are owned and maintained by the GIS community. For details on the coverage in this map and the users who contributed data for this map via the Community Maps Program, view the list of Contributors for the Live Stream Gauges Service.

TwitterThe PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) and PA Game Commission (PGC) have teamed up to create an interactive map specifically for hunters. Collectively, State Forest Land and Gamelands comprise over 3.7 million acres of public forest open to hunting in Pennsylvania. Hunters can use this map to:View public forests open to hunting.Search hunting seasons and bag limits across different parts of the state.Display hunting hours (starting/ending times) across different parts of the state.Add personal GPS data to the map (waypoints and tracklogs).View different types of wildlife habitat across public forest lands, including mature oak forests, meadows, food plots, openings, winter thermal (coniferous) cover, and young aspen forest.See where recent timber harvests have occurred on public forest lands.Get deer management assistance program (DMAP) information for state forest lands.Add map layers associated with chronic wasting disease (CWD).Identify where bear check stations are located and get driving directions.Display the elk hunting zones and get information about them.Get the location of gated roads opened for hunters on public forest lands and when those gates will be opened.Analyze graphs and trends in antlerless/antlered deer harvests and antlerless license allocations from 2004 to the present.

TwitterThis layer was created as part of a Flood Inundation Map Library developed for display within the NOAA National Weather Service's Advanced Hydrologic Prediction Services (AHPS), the SRBC Susquehanna Inundation Map Viewer (SIMV), and the USGS Flood Inundation Mapper (FIM). This data represents the potential flood extent for a stage of 11-ft to 37-ft as recorded at the Harrisburg (Susquehanna River at Harrisburg, PA; USGS ID 01570500) river gage. This data is part of a series of inundation layers meant to correlate observations and forecasts from the river gage with a visual representation of the areas impacted by high water. The data set of flood inundation areas was created from flood scenarios generated by HEC-RAS runs provided by USACE-Baltimore and LiDAR data from PASDA processed to extract bare earth points. A shapefile of inundation area for each stage was created and subsequently merged to form continuous datasets for the main-stem Susquehanna River and backwater areas on its tributaries. This data was developed to assist the public and emergency officials with planning and response to high water episodes at or near a defined National Weather Service river forecast point.

TwitterThe Sidewalk Inventory was created in 2018 by Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (TCRPC) to show both the presence and condition of sidewalks on Federal Aid roads within the Harrisburg Area Transportation Study's (HATS) MPO region. The three counties comprising the HATS region are Dauphin, Cumberland and Perry. Data was collected via aerial imagery from Goggle Maps and data input was done by staff at Harrisburg University. Sidewalk lines are represented by a single line through the center of the street. Fields within the attribute table present overall presence (sidewalk on one side of the street, sidewalk on both sides of the street, no sidewalk) and separate fields for sidewalk on either side of the street.
