The GOES-R PLT Washington D.C. Lightning Mapping Array (LMA) dataset consists of total lightning data measured from the Washington D.C. LMA (DCLMA) network during the GOES-R Post Launch Test (PLT) airborne science field campaign. The GOES-R PLT airborne science field campaign took place in support of the post-launch product validation of the Advanced Baseline Imager (ABI) and the Geostationary Lightning Mapper (GLM). The LMA measures the arrival time of radiation from a lightning discharge at multiple stations and locates the sources of radiation to produce a three-dimensional map of total lightning activity. These data files are available in compressed ASCII files and are available from April 6, 2017 through June 1, 2017.

The Washington DC Area geologic map database (DCDB) provides geologic map information of areas to the NW, W, and SW of Washington, DC to various professionals and private citizens who have uses for geologic data. Digital, geographically referenced, geologic data is more versatile than traditional hard copy maps, and facilitates the examination of relationships between numerous aspects of the geology and other types of data such as: land-use data, vegetation characteristics, surface water flow and chemistry, and various types of remotely sensed images. The DCDB was created by combining Arc/Info coverages, designing a Microsoft (MS) Access database, and populating this database. Proposed improvements to the DCDB include the addition of more geochemical, structural, and hydrologic data.

The DC Office of Zoning (OZ) proudly announces an expansion of its online mapping services with the release of the DCOZ 3D Zoning Map. This new mapping application builds off existing DC Open Datasets and new OZ Zoning data to visualize the District in 3D, providing greater context for proposed development projects and helping enhance Board of Zoning Adjustment and Zoning Commission decisions throughout the District. The 3D Zoning Map was developed to enhance District resident’s understanding, knowledge, and participation in Zoning matters, and help increase transparency in the Zoning process.

The GIS layer represents the locations of neighborhood commercial districts comprised of specific streets designated by DSLBD as "Main Streets." DC Main Streets is a program through which the District government works with neighborhood organizations to revitalize the District's neighborhood business districts through a comprehensive and systemic strategy for business retention and attraction, commercial property improvements, and provision of coordinated corridor-wide services.

Planned Land Use from the 2021 Comprehensive Plan Amendment Act of 2021. This data set is an update to the 2006 original version, which was digitized from the Generalized Land Use Map of the District of Columbia Comprehensive Plan. It shows which areas of the city are planned for various uses. These uses include residential and commercial uses at various densities, public land, institutional, federal, and industrial uses. Although planned uses and current uses may be similar, this is not a data set describing current land use. This is a generalized product, and cannot be used to identity specific uses for all specific locations in the District of Columbia.
