The 10 m resolution Lidar Digital Elevation Model (DEM) is the primary elevation data product produced and distributed by the National Park Service, Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

The seamless 1/3 arc-second DEM layer provides coverage of the conterminous United States, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, other territorial islands, and in limited areas of Alaska. The seamless 1/3arc-second DEM is available as pre-staged current and historical products tiled in GeoTIFF format. The seamless 1/3 arc-second DEM layer is updated continually as new data become available in the current folder. Previously created 1 degree blocks are retained in the historical folder with an appended date suffix (YYYMMDD) when they were produced. Other 3DEP products are nationally seamless DEMs in resolutions of 1, and 2 arc seconds. These seamless DEMs were referred to as the National Elevation Dataset (NED) from about 2000 through 2015 at which time they became the seamless DEM layers under the 3DEP program and the NED name and system were retired. Other 3DEP products include one-meter DEMs produced exclusively from high resolution light detection and ranging (lidar) source data and five-meter DEMs in Alaska as well as various source datasets including the lidar point cloud and interferometric synthetic aperture radar (Ifsar) digital surface models and intensity images. The dataset is a 10 m-resolution DEM in grid format covering the whole Italian territory. The DEM is encoded as “ESRI ASCII Raster” obtained by interpolating the original DEM in Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) format. New work reported here was done at 2m resolution, although the improvements have been incorporated into the 10m products as much as possible. Relative to the previous DWR release (https://data.cnra.ca.gov/dataset/san-francisco-bay-and-sacramento-san-joaquin-delta-dem-v3), the 2m DEM product reported here consolidates work at this resolution into a small number of larger surfaces representing approximately one-third of the Delta (link to the Coverage Areas page). Laterally, the 2m models now extend over the levee crest as needed to match well with Delta LiDAR (http://www.atlas.ca.gov/download.html#/casil/imageryBaseMapsLandCover/lidar2009 ), the main terrestrial source of data used in this work. The 10m product (link to the Coverage Areas page) is based on the updated USGS DEM (https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/58599681e4b01224f329b484 ). In places where updated 2m models overlap the 10 meters, the 10m base elevation model was updated by resampling the new 2m model and adding levee enforcement. At the border between the 2m and 10m models, the two resolutions were locally edge-matched over a small region to maintain smoothness. The Reference Elevation Model of Antarctica (REMA) is part of a NGA-NSF public-private initiative to automatically produce high-resolution, high quality, digital surface models (DSMs) of the polar regions using optical stereo imagery, high-performance computing, and open source photogrammetry software. OpenTopography is distributing the REMA mosaics (version 2, released in October 2022) that are that are assembled from multiple REMA strips with the intention of providing a more consistent and comprehensive product over large areas. REMA data is constructed from in-track and cross-track high-resolution (~0.5 meter) imagery acquired by the Maxar constellation of optical imaging satellites.

This product is a mutually compatible suite of DEMs covering most of the aquatic and terrestrial areas of the Bay-Delta. The product was derived from original point data collections, lidar and other DEMs. Also included in the resources are images and shapefiles describing the source data.
