The dataset is a 10 m-resolution DEM in grid format covering the whole Italian territory. The DEM is obtained by interpolating the original DEM in Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) format. The TIN version benefited from the systematic application of the DEST algorithm. The projection is UTM, the World Geodetic System 1984 (WGS 84). To provide the dataset as a single seamless DEM, the sole zone 32 N was selected, although about half of Italy belongs to zone 33 N. The database is arranged in 193 square tiles having approximately 50 km side. In addition to the DEM (TINItaly_DEM), the OGC links supply the following DEM-derived products: (i) shaded relief map (TINItaly_Hillshade); (ii) slope map using 2.5σ clipping as technique for image enhancement (TINItaly_Slope); (iii) Sky view Factor (SVF) map using 2.5σ clipping as technique for image enhancement (TINItaly_SVF_2d5); (iv) SVF map using equal area equalization as technique for image enhancement (TINItaly_SVF_EA); (v) openness down map using equal area equalization as technique for image enhancement (TINItaly_OD); and (vi) Hue-Saturation-Value (HSV) composition image with slope (2.5σ clipping) as saturation and SVF (2.5σ clipping) as value, according to RRIM (Red Relief Image Maps) style maps (TINItaly_HSV). For more information about the generation of the DEM-derived products refer to Favalli and Fornaciai (2017) - http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.geomorph.2017.02.029.

With the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community (INSPIRE) more and more high resolution digital elevation models under free licenses are published. The theme of elevation is part of the INSPIRE Annex 2. Unfortunately, the data are mostly only provided with national horizontal and vertical reference systems and an easy pan-European utilisation is not possible. The aim of the OpenDen EU project is to derive a pan-European digital terrain dataset with a standardised horizontal- and vertical reference system. Digital surface models are not recognised at this stage. The data is available in a 50*50 km raster as GeoTIFFs. The spatial reference system is the ETRS89 Lambert Azimuthal Equal-Area projection coordinate reference system (EPSG:3035) and vertical datum EVRS2000 (EPSG:5730). Resolutions below 1 m were recalculated to a 1 m DTM with a cubic resampling method to create manageable datasets below 10 GB.

Digital Elevation Model Etna Volcano Pléiades Imagery Satellite Remote Sensing File Name File Format File Size Uniform Resource Locator/link To File We present a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of Mount Etna obtained from tri-stereo Pléiades data acquired on 18 December 2015. The 3D processing of the tri-stereo Pléiades 1A imagery was performed using the free and open source MicMac photogrammetric library (http://micmac.ensg.eu) developed by the French IGN (Institut Géographique National), and took advantage of Ground Control Points (GCPs) acquired at Mt Etna. The best result obtained is a 4-meter resolution DEM spanning an area of about 16 × 15 km, which covers the summit craters and a portion of the eastern flank of the volcano, including most of the Valle del Bove area. The highest point of 3,367 m is on the south-west rim of the North-East Crater (NEC), while the South-East Crater (SEC) and the New South-East Crater (NSEC) reach an elevation of 3,336 and 3,325 m, respectively. This 2015 DEM was validated against the 1-meter 2005 DEM resulted from digital photogrammetric mapping (Gwinner at al., 2006). The standard deviation of the height difference between the two DEMs in the area not covered by volcanic deposits, emplaced between 2005 and 2015, is 2.95 m. This difference can be partly due to vegetation and/or urbanization. The DEM is provided as GeoTIFF raster (dem_2015_4m.tiff), using the WGS84 datum and the UTM projection, zone 33 North (EPSG 32633). Missing areas are due to snow cover, very low texture and/or terrain shadows. Pléiades data were available through the Space Volcano Observatory with Pléiades (SVOP) project coordinated by Pierre Briole (http://volcano.iterre.fr/svo_projects). We are grateful to Olivier Galland, Luc Girod and Christopher Nuth for their assistance with the use of the MicMac software. This work was developed within the framework of the Laboratory for Technological Advance in Volcano Geophysics (TecnoLab) of the INGV in Catania (Italy) and was partially supported from the "Advanced tools and methods for computational fluid-dynamics"(ATHOS) research programme.

The dataset compiles measurements of fault throw displacements of coseismic ruptures produced after the 2016 seismic events in central Italy (T2); measurements of fault throw displacements of cumulative morphological fault scarp (T1) and slip vector data (T3). The dataset contains label code for each measurement, geographic information (Easting and northing coordinates), and offsets as measured by topographic profiles extracted from digital elevation model topography from satellite Pleiades images provided by the Centre national d'études spatiales (CNES) (ISIS and CEOS_seismic pilot (ESA) programs).
