    The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the three variables, namely (a) Population (Male), (b) Population (Female), and (c) Gender Ratio (Males per 100 Females), we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the gender classifications (biological sex) reported by the US Census Bureau across 18 age groups, ranging from under 5 years to 85 years and above.     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the population of Lubbock County by gender across 18 age groups. It lists the male and female population in each age group along with the gender ratio for Lubbock County. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Lubbock County by gender and age. For example, using this dataset, we can identify the largest age group for both Men and Women in Lubbock County. Additionally, it can be used to see how the gender ratio changes from birth to senior most age group and male to female ratio across each age group for Lubbock County.

Our research and this dataset mirrors the data reported as Male and Female for gender distribution analysis.

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the data for the Lubbock County, TX population pyramid, which represents the Lubbock County population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates.     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the population of Lubbock County by race. It includes the population of Lubbock County across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Lubbock County across relevant racial categories.

    Key observations

    The percent distribution of Lubbock County population by race (across all racial categories recognized by the U.S. Census Bureau): 66.75% are white, 7.37% are Black or African American, 0.60% are American Indian and Alaska Native, 2.38% are Asian, 0.11% are Native Hawaiian and other Pacific Islander, 7.24% are some other race and 15.55% are multiracial.

To portray the median household income within each racial category idetified by the US Census Bureau, we conducted an initial analysis and categorization of the data. Subsequently, we adjusted these figures for inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series via current methods (R-CPI-U-RS). It is important to note that the median household income estimates exclusively represent the identified racial categories and do not incorporate any ethnicity classifications. Households are categorized, and median incomes are reported based on the self-identified race of the head of the household.     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset presents the median household income across different racial categories in Lubbock. It portrays the median household income of the head of household across racial categories (excluding ethnicity) as identified by the Census Bureau. The dataset can be utilized to gain insights into economic disparities and trends and explore the variations in median houshold income for diverse racial categories.

    Key observations

    Based on our analysis of the distribution of Lubbock population by race & ethnicity, the population is predominantly White. This particular racial category constitutes the majority, accounting for 64.59% of the total residents in Lubbock. Notably, the median household income for White households is $66,152. Interestingly, despite the White population being the most populous, it is worth noting that Asian households actually reports the highest median household income, with a median income of $82,297. This reveals that, while Whites may be the most numerous in Lubbock, Asian households experience greater economic prosperity in terms of median household income.

About this dataset

Context

The dataset tabulates the population of Lubbock County by gender across 18 age groups. It lists the male and female population in each age group along with the gender ratio for Lubbock County. The dataset can be utilized to understand the population distribution of Lubbock County by gender and age. For example, using this dataset, we can identify the largest age group for both Men and Women in Lubbock County. Additionally, it can be used to see how the gender ratio changes from birth to senior most age group and male to female ratio across each age group for Lubbock County.
