    This map shows the senior dependency ratio in each area, which is the ratio of population in age 65+ divided by working-age population. Source: U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 Census Demographic and Housing Characteristics information about age and sex for Nation, State Legislative Districts Upper, State Legislative Districts Lower, Congressional District in the United States and Puerto Rico. The senior dependency ratio is:the count of people 65 years of age or older - divided by -the count of people age 18-64. Higher ratios indicate a greater level of dependency on the working-age population. For example, a dependency ratio of 65.6 indicates that there are roughly 66 people in dependent age groups for every 100 people of working age. Note: Working-age population could be out of the labor force (not working), and people outside the 18-64 age range may work.     Measurement technique
    The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the three variables, namely (a) male population, (b) female population and (b) total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the age groups. For age groups we divided it into roughly a 5 year bucket for ages between 0 and 85. For over 85, we aggregated data into a single group for all ages.     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the data for the Mccall, ID population pyramid, which represents the Mccall population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. It lists the male and female population for each age group, along with the total population for those age groups. Higher numbers at the bottom of the table suggest population growth, whereas higher numbers at the top indicate declining birth rates. Furthermore, the dataset can be utilized to understand the youth dependency ratio, old-age dependency ratio, total dependency ratio, and potential support ratio.

    This map shows the dependency ratio in each area, which is the ratio of population in age ranges that generally do not work full time divided by working-age population. Source: Source: U.S. Census Bureau’s 2020 Census Demographic and Housing Characteristics information about age and sex for Nation, Tribal Subdivision, Tribal Census Tract, Tribal Block Group, Alaska Native Regional Corporation, American Indian, Alaska Native, or Native Hawaiian Area in the United States and Puerto Rico.The dependency ratio is:the count of people in dependent age groups (people under 18 years of age + people 65 years of age or older) - divided by -the count of people age 18-64. Higher ratios indicate a greater level of dependency on the working-age population. For example, a dependency ratio of 63.6 indicates that there are roughly 64 people in dependent age groups for every 100 people of working age. Note: Working-age population could be out of the labor force (not working), and people outside the 18-64 age range may work.     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the data for the Lyons, IL population pyramid, which represents the Lyons population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. It lists the male and female population for each age group, along with the total population for those age groups.     Measurement technique
    The data presented in this dataset is derived from the latest U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. To measure the three variables, namely (a) male population, (b) female population and (b) total population, we initially analyzed and categorized the data for each of the age groups. For age groups we divided it into roughly a 5 year bucket for ages between 0 and 85. For over 85, we aggregated data into a single group for all ages.     About this dataset

    Context

    The dataset tabulates the data for the Lake County, IL population pyramid, which represents the Lake County population distribution across age and gender, using estimates from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. It lists the male and female population for each age group, along with the total population for those age groups. Higher numbers at the bottom of the table suggest population growth, whereas higher numbers at the top indicate declining birth rates.
