Historical Employment Statistics 1990 - current. The Current Employment Statistics (CES) more information program provides the most current estimates of nonfarm employment, hours, and earnings data by industry (place of work) for the nation as a whole, all states, and most major metropolitan areas. The CES survey is a federal-state cooperative endeavor in which states develop state and sub-state data using concepts, definitions, and technical procedures prescribed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS). Estimates produced by the CES program include both full- and part-time jobs. Excluded are self-employment, as well as agricultural and domestic positions. In Connecticut, more than 4,000 employers are surveyed each month to determine the number of the jobs in the State. Puerto Rico is included. These are not seasonally adjusted values. The layer is updated monthly with the newest unemployment statistics available from BLS. There are attributes in the layer that specify which month is associated to each statistic. Numbers of jobs in an area by gender, and whether an employee or self-employed. This data shows the number of jobs, not the number of people. People with more than one job are counted more than once. Figures may not add up due to rounding. Figures are rounded to the nearest thousand. Percentages are rounded to one decimal place and were calculated on unrounded figures. Employees - An employee is anyone aged 16 years or over that an organisation directly pays from its payroll(s), in return for carrying out a full-time or part-time job or being on a training scheme. It excludes voluntary workers, self-employed and working owners who are not paid via PAYE People who are self-employed in a second job are included in the self-employed totals. Self-employment data is taken from the Annual Population Survey, and is by place of work. The micro data is available from the UK Data Archive. The male/female split for employee jobs was taken from the Annual Survey of Hours and Earnings data from NOMISweb.co.uk. These proportions were then applied to the BRES employee totals since the ASHE is a not a reliable source for total employee jobs. See more on the BRES website. The BRES is a business survey which collects both employment and financial information. Only employment information for the location of an employees workplace is available from Nomis The BRES is based on a sample of approximately 80,000 businesses and is used to provide an estimate of the number of employees. The difference between the estimate and its true value is known as the sampling error. The actual sampling error for any estimate is unknown but we can estimate, from the sample, a typical error, known as the standard error. The Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) program serves as a near census of employment and wage information. The program produces a comprehensive tabulation of employment and wage information for workers covered by Connecticut Unemployment Insurance (UI) laws and Federal workers covered by the Unemployment Compensation for Federal Employees (UCFE) program. Data on the number of establishments, employment, and wages are reported by industry for Connecticut and for the counties, towns and Labor Market Areas (LMAs) and Workforce Investment Areas (WIAs).

The estimated number of people working in offices in Germany rose annually between 2010 and 2022, except for a slight dip in 2020. The German Federal Employment Agency does not report on the number of employees working in offices, which means that no data is available that covers the exact figure. The estimation is based on the development of employment in the key economic sectors with primarily clerical work. In 2022, the number of office workers in Germany was estimated at **** million. That is not an exact number and should be treated as a rough estimate, as the sectors excluded from the calculation also feature a certain, though low, ratio of office-based jobs. Secondly, the sectors included are also not 100 percent office-based.
