This dataset contains Department of Transport and Main Roads road location details (both spatial and through distance) as well as associated traffic data.
It allows users to locate themselves with respect to road section number and through distance using the spatial coordinates on the state-controlled road network.
Through distance – the distance in kilometres measured from the gazetted start point of the road section.
Note: "Road location and traffic data" resource has been updated as of 20/07/2018.

The Statewide Landcover and Trees Study (SLATS) landcover mapping involves several stages of automated and semi-automated image classification techniques, together with visual interpretation. Water, bare ground and shadow (unclassified) masks are created for each scene using spectral classification and visual interpretation.

This data is part of the series of maps that covers the whole of Australia at a scale of 1:250 000 (1cm on a map represents 2.5km on the ground) and comprises 513 maps. This is the largest scale at which published topographic maps cover the entire continent. Data is downloadable in various distribution formats.

Plan (or contour) curvature is the rate of change of aspect (orthogonal to the slope) and represents topographic convergence or divergence. It is significant for water movement across the landscape, i.e., the accumulation or dispersion of water. The plan curvature products were derived from the Smoothed Digital Elevation Model (DEM-S; ANZCW0703014016), which was derived from the 1 second resolution SRTM data acquired by NASA in February 2000. The calculation of plan curvature from DEM-S accounted for the varying spacing between grid points in the geographic projection. The plan curvature data are available at 1 arc-second (approx. 30 m) and 3 arc-second (approx. 90 m) resolutions. The 3 arc-second resolution product was generated from the 1 arc-second plan curvature product and masked by the 3” water and ocean mask datasets.
