This spreadsheet contains Special Protection Areas (SPAs) with marine components are defined as those sites with qualifying Birds Directive (2009/147/EC) Annex I species or regularly occurring migratory species that are dependent on the marine environment for all or part of their lifecycle, where these species are found in association with intertidal or subtidal habitats.
The definition of SPAs with marine components is set out in the following paper: http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/pdf/MN2KPG16_13_MN2KDefs.pdf
PLEASE NOTE - through ongoing UK MPA stocktake work (http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/page-7438) the SPA qualifying interest features that are considered 'marine' (as opposed to terrestrial-only) are being reviewed. Furthermore, the recommendations of the 2001 SPA review are at different stages of implemention in the UK (particularly with regard to the submission of updated site details to the European Commission, upon which this dataset depends). Therefore the "SPA Marine Interest Features" of inshore SPAs provided here may not be the latest data on SPA features formally adopted by the respective Statutory Nature Conservation Bodies (Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, Scottish Natural Heritage and Department of Agriculture, Environment & Rural Affairs (Northern Ireland); the relevant Statutory Nature Conservation Bodies should be contacted for the latest data on inshore SPA marine qualifying interest features. This issue does not apply to offshore SPAs and SPAs classified or amended in 2017, for which this dataset is fully up-to-date.
The SPA Sites worksheet lists the sites with marine components and their reference attributes. This includes: Site code, Site name, Site status, Country, CP2 Region, Feature type, Marine interest features, Common name, Population type and Annex I/ROMS. Please note that habitats are not listed as qualifying interest features of SPAs but are documented in section 4.1 (General site character) of the Standard Natura 2000 Data Form. For this reason we list marine habitats in SPAs separately in the SPA Marine Habitats worksheet.
This dataset is supported by a shapefile available at: http://jncc.defra.gov.uk/ProtectedSites/SACselection/gis_data/terms_conditions.asp

Please note - this data set is not being maintained. In 2003 a decision was made to transfer selected historic documents held at the United Kingdom Hydrographic Office (UKHO) to The National Archives (TNA) of England and Wales, http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/catalogue/search.asp?j=1. This is an ongoing process and the following types have been transferred: 1. Hydrographic charts and surveys held by the UKHO that were accumulated before 1826 are being catalogued and transferred. Those that have been sent to Kew are listed under the 'Charts and Surveys Transferred' tab, along with their date of transfer. These can be ordered at Kew using their catalogue and have been allocated the class number ADM 352. 2. Coastal views that were placed into albums before 1960 have been transferred. Those that have been sent to Kew are listed under the 'Coastal Views Transferred' tab. These can be ordered at Kew using their catalogue and have been allocated the class number ADM 344. 3. Ships' remark books that were returned to the Admiralty from the 1750s to 1784 have been catalogued and transferred. Those that have been sent to Kew are listed under the 'Remark Books Transferred' tab, along with their date of transfer. These can be ordered at Kew using their catalogue and have been allocated the class number ADM 346
HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) collects the UK’s international trade in goods data, which are published as two National Statistics series - the ‘Overseas Trade in Goods Statistics (OTS)’ and the ‘Regional Trade in Goods Statistics (RTS)’. The RTS are published quarterly showing trade at summary product and country level, split by UK regions and devolved administrations. This release provides statistics for 2019 calendar year. It breaks down the RTS into smaller UK geographical areas. RTS data and related products are categorised by partner country and http://unstats.un.org/unsd/cr/registry/regcst.asp?Cl=28" class="govuk-link">Standard International Trade Classification, Rev.4 (SITC).

Life expectancy at birth and age 65 by sex and ward, London borough, region, 1999/03 - 2008/12.
The population data used is revised 2002-2010 ONS mid year estimates (MYE) - revised post 2011 Census. Revised population estimates by single year of age for wards can also be found on the ONS website for 2002-2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013. These figures are consistent with the published revised mid-2002 to mid-2010 local authority estimates.
Rolling 5-year combined life expectancies are used for wards to reduce the effects of the variability in number of deaths in each year. The same method is applied to higher geographies to enable meaningful comparisons. However, 3-year combined expectancies are published separately on the Datastore for geographical areas that are local authority and above.
If the GLA publish revised 2002-2010 population data for wards then these life expectancy figures will also be revised to reflect them.
The ONS vital statistics mortality data breaks deaths into 10 year age bands. 5 year age band deaths were modelled using this data.
Vital Statistics: Population and Health Reference Tables are available on the ONS website here.
The tool for calculating life expectancy is available from Public Health England.
The highest age band in the calculator is currently 85+. If the tool is updated with a higher upper age band (ie 90+), this data will be revised to reflect this change.
Healthy life expectancy and disability-free life expectancy (1999-2003) at birth have been calculated for wards in England and Wales. These can be found on the ONS website.
This data is also presented in the GLA ward profiles.

Data on DWP benefits is also released quarterly through:
A statistical summary document is published on a 6-monthly basis in February and August each year. It contains a high level summary of the latest National Statistics on Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) benefits.
During the quality assurance of Bereavement Support Payment (BSP) experimental official statistics, DWP statisticians have identified an issue with claims in payment figures. The data tables have been removed from the May and August 2019 publications. Tables 2-7 have been removed from the November 2019 publication. Table 1 is still available in the November publication onwards. Further information can be found on the DWP benefits statistics collection page and in the “Welfare and Benefits” community on StatsUserNet. Email stats-consultation@dwp.gov.uk if you have any comments or questions.
Due to the 2019 local government reorganisation, 5 new unitary authorities were created in April 2019, replacing 15 local authority districts. The new authorities are now reflected in our published figures for Housing Benefit administration from April 2019. Residency-based Housing Benefit data on Stat-Xplore will be updated to reflect the changes as part of a routine refresh in spring 2020.
We identified a small error in the number of Widow’s Benefit claimants on Stat-Xplore for February and May 2019. We removed the Widow’s Benefit datasets for February 2019 from Stat-Xplore and delayed the release of May 2019 Widow’s Benefit datasets. Figures for February and May 2019 have now been corrected and will be released on Stat-Xplore on 17 December 2019.
We will also introduce a new ‘65 and over’ age band for Widow’s Benefit and bereavement benefits datasets on 17 December 2019.
We are no longer updating NOMIS datasets. May 2019 was the last release of new data via NOMIS for the datasets listed under the https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/query/select/getdatasetbytheme.asp?theme=35&subgrp=-" class="govuk-link">“Work and Pensions Longitudinal Study” section. August 2019 was the last new release of datasets under https://www.nomisweb.co.uk/query/select/getdatasetbytheme.asp?theme=35&subgrp=5%25+Sample+Data" class="govuk-link">“5% Sample Data”. Existing datasets will remain on NOMIS under a “Discontinued” banner.

Daytime population - The estimated number of people in a borough in the daytime during an average day, broken down by component sub-groups.
The figures given are an average day during school term-time. No account has been made for seasonal variations, or for people who are usually in London (resident, at school or working), but are away visiting another place.
Sources include the Business Register and Employment Survey (BRES) (available under license), Annual Population Survey (APS), 2011 Census, Department for Education (DfE), International Passenger Survey (IPS), GB Tourism Survey (GBTS), Great Britain Day Visit Survey (GBDVS), GLA Population Projections, and GLA Economics estimates (GLAE).
The figures published in these sources have been used exactly as they appear - no further adjustments have been made to account for possible sampling errors or questionnaire design flaws.
Day trip visitors are defined as those on day trips away from home for three hours or more and not undertaking activities that would regularly constitute part of their work or would be a regular leisure activity.
International visitors – people from a country other than the UK visiting the location;
Domestic overnight tourists – people from other parts of the UK staying in the location for at least one night.
All visitor data is modelled and unrounded.
This edition was released on 14 January 2015 and replaces the previous estimates for 2012.
GLA resident population, 2011 Census resident population, and 2011 Census workday populations (by sex) included for comparison.

These files take into account the revised estimates released in 2010.
Ward level Population Estimates
London wards single year of age data covering each year since 2002.
Custom Age Range Tool
An Excel tool is available that uses Single year of age data that enables users to select any age range required.
ONS policy is to publish population estimates rounded to at least the nearest hundred persons. Estimates by single year of age, and the detailed components of change are provided in units to facilitate further calculations. They cannot be guaranteed to be as exact as the level of detail implied by unit figures.
Estimates are calculated by single year of age but these figures are less reliable and ONS advise that they should be aggregated to at least five-year age groupings for use in further calculations, onwards circulation, or for presentation purposes. (Splitting into 0 year olds and 1-4 year olds is an acceptable exception).
ONS mid-year population estimates data by 5 year age groups going all the way back to 1981, are available on the NOMIS website.

Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) are needed whenever a property is built, sold or rented. An EPC contains information about a property's energy use and typical energy costs and recommendations about how to reduce energy use and save money. An EPC gives a property an energy efficiency rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient) and it is valid for 10 years. The Standard Assessment Procedure (SAP) used to create the EPC is the methodology used by the Government to assess and compare the energy and environmental performance of dwellings. It aims to provide accurate and reliable assessments of dwelling energy performances that are needed to underpin energy and environmental policy initiatives. The data come from an IBM Fuel Poverty report and provide SAP/EPC energy rating by post code within the Glasgow Housing Association (GHA) stock register. The fields are: Post Code, Current Energy Efficiency Rating, Potential Energy Efficiency Rating, Current Environmental Impact Rating and Potential Environmental Impact Rating.
