School level revenue balances for all local authority maintained schools by local authority.
These tatistics describing the total revenue balances (showing both committed and uncommitted revenue balances) and also the total revenue balances as a proportion of the total revenue income for LA maintained schools.
Tables from 1990/00 onwards available on Department for Education website.
A schools total revenue income for the year includes all revenue funding available to the year as well as any additional income generated by the school. This does not include any revenue balances carried forward from previous years.
Please note that although figures are shown here for committed and uncommitted balances there is considerable variation in how these are defined at local level meaning that at national level this comparison is not consistent or meaningful. Great caution should therefore be used in interpreting these figures.
The tables form part of annual series of school balances statistics which have been published on the Department's Every Child Matters website.
The ‘Longitudinal education outcomes study’ compares students’ level of education to their level of employment and earnings in later life.

This data shows Education Attainment, at Early Years Foundation Stage, Year 1 Phonics assessments, and Key Stage 1 teacher assessments. Numbers and percentages of pupils are shown by gender. A brief outline of the attainment levels: • A Good level of Development at Foundation Stage means children achieving at least the expected level within the following areas of learning: communication and language; physical development; personal, social and emotional development; literacy; and mathematics. • Year 1 Phonics attainment is based on the percentage of pupils meeting the standard of the Phonics decoding screening check. • Key Stage 1 attainment is based on the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard or above in each of Reading, Writing and Maths Teacher Assessments. More information about the Early Years Foundation Stage and Primary Key Stage 1 curriculums is available on the Department for Education (DfE) School Curriculum website; a link to that is included along with the dataset. Data is included for Wards, Lower Super Output Areas (LSOA), Districts, and Lincolnshire. The data has been aggregated based on pupil postcode and only includes those pupils living and educated within Lincolnshire. If you want Lincolnshire and District aggregations based on those pupils that are educated within Lincolnshire, irrespective of where they live; then please see the Department for Education Statistics website and School Performance Tables (links to these included as Resources accompanying these datasets). Data is suppressed where appropriate 5 persons and below (this may be shown by missing data). That and any unmatched postcodes may mean numbers for small areas might not add up exactly to figures shown for larger areas. This data is updated annually. Data source: Lincolnshire County Council, Performance Services – Schools Performance. For any enquiries about this publication please contact: schoolperformancedata@lincolnshire.gov.uk Please note: Foundation National data for Early Years Foundation Stage Profile results are published via: Early years foundation stage profile results, Academic year 2022/23 – Explore education statistics – GOV.UK (explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk) There have been changes to the Foundation Stage Profile even though the overall measure of “Good Level of Development” appears to be the same. The DfE offer the following phrase via the above link: “This is the second publication since the 2021/22 EYFS reforms were introduced in September 2021. As part of those reforms, the EYFS profile was significantly revised. It is therefore not possible to directly compare 2022/23 & 2021/22 assessment outcomes with earlier years. The 2019/20 and 2020/21 data collections were cancelled due to coronavirus (COVID-19).” Further details on the changes to the early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework can be found via the following link: Changes to the early years foundation stage (EYFS) framework - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Phonics and Key Stage 1 National data for Phonics and Key Stage 1 results are published via: Key stage 1 and phonics screening check attainment, Academic year 2022/23 – Explore education statistics – GOV.UK (explore-education-statistics.service.gov.uk) It is worth noting that there have been drops in attainment seen nationally. The DfE offer the following commentary via the link above: “These are the second phonics screening check and key stage 1 attainment statistics since 2019, after assessments were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic. These statistics cover the attainment of year 1 and year 2 pupils who took these assessments in summer 2023. These pupils experienced disruption to their learning during the pandemic.”

The Family Resources Survey (FRS) has been running continuously since 1992 to meet the information needs of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). It is almost wholly funded by DWP.
The FRS collects information from a large, and representative sample of private households in the United Kingdom (prior to 2002, it covered Great Britain only). The interview year runs from April to March.
The focus of the survey is on income, and how much comes from the many possible sources (such as employee earnings, self-employed earnings or profits from businesses, and dividends; individual pensions; state benefits, including Universal Credit and the State Pension; and other sources such as savings and investments). Specific items of expenditure, such as rent or mortgage, Council Tax and water bills, are also covered.
Many other topics are covered and the dataset has a very wide range of personal characteristics, at the adult or child, family and then household levels. These include education, caring, childcare and disability. The dataset also captures material deprivation, household food security and (new for 2021/22) household food bank usage.
The FRS is a national statistic whose results are published on the gov.uk website. It is also possible to create your own tables from FRS data, using DWP’s Stat Xplore tool. Further information can be found on the gov.uk Family Resources Survey webpage.
Secure Access FRS data
In addition to the standard End User Licence (EUL) version, Secure Access datasets, containing unrounded data and additional variables, are also available for FRS from 2005/06 onwards - see SN 9256. Prospective users of the Secure Access version of the FRS will need to fulfil additional requirements beyond those associated with the EUL datasets. Full details of the application requirements are available from http://ukdataservice.ac.uk/media/178323/secure_frs_application_guidance.pdf" style="background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">Guidance on applying for the Family Resources Survey: Secure Access.
FRS, HBAI and PI
The FRS underpins the related Households Below Average Income (HBAI) dataset, which focuses on poverty in the UK, and the related Pensioners' Incomes (PI) dataset. The EUL versions of HBAI and PI are held under SNs 5828 and 8503, respectively. The Secure Access versions are held under SN 7196 and 9257 (see above).
FRS 2022-23
The impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the FRS 2022-23 survey was much reduced when compared with the two previous survey years. Throughout the year, there was a gradual return to pre-pandemic fieldwork practices, with the majority of interviews being conducted in face-to-face mode. The achieved sample was just over 25,000 households. Users are advised to consult the FRS 2022-23 Background Information and Methodology document for detailed information on changes, developments and issues related to the 2022-23 FRS data set and publication. Alongside the usual topics covered, the 2022-2023 FRS also includes variables for Cost of Living support, including those on certain state benefits; energy bill support; and Council Tax support. See documentation for further details.
FRS 2021-22 and 2020-21 and the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic
The coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted the FRS 2021-22 and 2020-21 data collection in the following ways:
The FRS team are seeking users' feedback on the 2020-21 and 2021-22 FRS. Given the breadth of groups covered by the FRS data, it has not been possible for DWP statisticians to assess or validate every breakdown which is of interest to external researchers and users. Therefore, the FRS team are inviting users to let them know of any insights you may have relating to data quality or trends when analysing these data for your area of interest. Please send any feedback directly to the FRS Team Inbox: team.frs@dwp.gov.uk

This Statistical First Release (SFR) provides revised information on the overall achievements of young people in GCE and Applied GCE examinations and other equivalent qualifications in 2009/10. This updates the provisional SFR released in October 2010 and contains revised national level analyses by school type, gender and subject and revised local authority level analyses by gender. Further tables are provided separately on the DfE statistics website only, including alternative local analyses, time series giving achievements in GCE A/AS level subjects, and achievements in GCE A level subjects by institution type and Local Authority.
The information in this SFR is based on data collated for the 2010 School and College (Key Stage 5) Performance Tables (formerly Achievement and Attainment Tables), which has now been checked by schools, and covers achievements in all Level 3 qualifications approved under Section 96 of the Learning and Skills Act (2000). The Qualifications and Curriculum Development Agency (QCDA) tariff is used to calculate point scores for all Level 3 qualifications.
Table shows numbers of all Schools and Pupils by Type of School.
School types included in this publication are State-Funded Primary, Secondary and Special schools, Independent schools, Pupil Referral Units, and Alternative Provision.
