Land-Form PANORAMA is a digital representation of the contours from Ordnance Survey's 1:50 000 scale Landranger maps. Contours are at 10 metre vertical intervals together with breaklines, lakes, coastline and a selection of spot heights to the nearest metre. Digital contour accuracy values are typically better than 3 metres root mean square error.
The Ordnance Survey has used the dataset to derive mathematically a digital terrain-model (DTM) dataset. The dataset consists of a grid of height values at 50 metre intervals interpolated from the contour data. Height values are rounded to the nearest metre. Accuracy varies according to the complexity of the terrain, from 2 metres in a hilly rural area to 3 metres in an urban lowland area. This data is only available for downloading to your machine.
DTM data can be used for terrain analysis of lines of sight and in applications such as visual impact studies, drainage analysis, site planning.
Natural Resources Wales (NRW) holds copies of Ordnance Survey (OS) basemaps for the whole of Wales, in paper and digital format. NRW obtain much of it's OS data, initially, as part of the Public Sector Mapping Agreement (PSMA) and from 2020 as part of the Public Sector Geospatial Agreement (PSGA), which is a collective agreement between OS and the government.

This is a view service of the CEH 1:50k rivers dataset. This is a river centreline network, based originally on OS 1:50,000 mapping. There are four layer: rivers; canals; surface pipes (man-made channels such as aqueducts and leats) and miscellaneous channels (including estuary and lake centre-lines and some underground channels).The dataset was produced within a long-term project of the Institute of Hydrology (now CEH) between the mid-1970s and the late 1990s. The project digitised, (either manually or using 'laser scanners') the "blue line" layer of the Ordnance Survey's 1:50,000 2nd series (Landranger) maps. The dataset consists of all the single blue lines from the source maps, plus centre-lines from double sided rivers, lakes and estuaries. All gaps in the source material have been closed, using local knowledge where necessary, to give a river network that is continuous from source to mouth

The primary objective from this project was to acquire historical shoreline information for all of the Northern Ireland coastline. Having this detailed understanding of the coast’s shoreline position and geometry over annual to decadal time periods is essential in any management of the coast.The historical shoreline analysis was based on all available Ordnance Survey maps and aerial imagery information. Analysis looked at position and geometry over annual to decadal time periods, providing a dynamic picture of how the coastline has changed since the start of the early 1800s.Once all datasets were collated, data was interrogated using the ArcGIS package – Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS). DSAS is a software package which enables a user to calculate rate-of-change statistics from multiple historical shoreline positions. Rate-of-change was collected at 25m intervals and displayed both statistically and spatially allowing for areas of retreat/accretion to be identified at any given stretch of coastline.The DSAS software will produce the following rate-of-change statistics:Net Shoreline Movement (NSM) – the distance between the oldest and the youngest shorelines.Shoreline Change Envelope (SCE) – a measure of the total change in shoreline movement considering all available shoreline positions and reporting their distances, without reference to their specific dates.End Point Rate (EPR) – derived by dividing the distance of shoreline movement by the time elapsed between the oldest and the youngest shoreline positions.Linear Regression Rate (LRR) – determines a rate of change statistic by fitting a least square regression to all shorelines at specific transects.Weighted Linear Regression Rate (WLR) - calculates a weighted linear regression of shoreline change on each transect. It considers the shoreline uncertainty giving more emphasis on shorelines with a smaller error.The end product provided by Ulster University is an invaluable tool and digital asset that has helped to visualise shoreline change and assess approximate rates of historical change at any given coastal stretch on the Northern Ireland coast.
Strategi is detailed digital map data, ideal for applications requiring an overview of geographical information on England, Scotland and Wales. It is derived from the Ordnance Survey 1:250 000 scale topographic database and provides mapping for applications requiring a regional overview.
Geographical features within Strategi are represented as vector (point and line) data, enabling you to link your business information to relevant features on the map for planning purposes and statistical analysis.
Colourful and easy to use, Bartholomew’s maps became a trademark series. The maps were popular and influential, especially for recreation, and the series sold well, particularly with cyclists and tourists. To begin with, Bartholomew printed their half-inch maps in Scotland as stand-alone sheets known as 'District Sheets' and by 1886 the whole of Scotland was covered. They then revised the maps into an ordered set of 29 sheets covering Scotland in a regular format. This was first published under the title Bartholomew’s Reduced Ordnance Survey of Scotland. The half-inch maps of Scotland formed the principal content for Bartholomew's Survey Atlas of Scotland published in 1895. Bartholomew then moved south of the Border to the more lucrative but competitive market in England and Wales, whilst continuing to revise the Scottish sheets. This Bartholomew series at half-inch to the mile, covered Great Britain in 62 sheets in the 1940s, Bartholomew’s first to cover Great Britain at this scale (their previous series covering Scotland and then England and Wales). The series provides an attractive and useful snapshot of 1940s Britain. By this time, Bartholomew had altered the range of information on their maps compared to the 1900s. There were more categories of roads, Ministry of Transport road numbers were added, and new recreational features such as Youth Hostels and Golf Courses. Bartholomew’s topographic information was gathered partly from original Ordnance Survey maps, and partly from information sent in to Bartholomew from map users. One important user community for Bartholomew were cyclists. From the 1890s, Bartholomew entered into a formal relationship with the Cyclists’ Touring Club, then numbering around 60,500 cyclists, proposing that club members supplied Bartholomew with up-to-date information. In return, Bartholomew provided the CTC with discounted half-inch maps. The relationship worked very well, turning CTC members into an unofficial surveying army, feeding back reliable and accurate topographical information which Bartholomew would then use to update their maps. The Low Water Mark digital dataset is derived from relevant 6 inch and 25 inch Ordnance Maps. The alterations are in accordance with the Boundary Survey Acts Ireland, approved by the Chief Boundary Surveyor and signed off in Privy Council Orders. The dataset also includes changes to HWM brought about by subsequent Maritime Orders. This dataset is currently under review.

This dataset consists of an interactive map (and supporting guidance) containing background information that informs how we understand flood risk across the Severn River Basin District. The map shows the River Basin District, component river basins and the coastline together with layers showing land use and topography.
This dataset together with equivalent datasets for each River Basin District, supports the Preliminary Flood Risk Assessment for England report which has been written to meet the requirements of the Flood Risk Regulations (2009) - to complete an assessment of flood risk and produce supporting maps of river catchments.
