    Description

    The research aim was to explore how to promote gender equality using Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). The researcher conducted semi-structured interviews with a total of 19 respondents, both men and women. The researcher used the information that was collected from interviews and document analysis to evaluate the facts and findings of the study. The researcher used SPSS Version 21 to analyse the data in Section A for the respondents’ biographical data and perceived use of ICTs. The researcher then used NVIVO to transcribe and code data and then used Microsoft Excel to present the data set from which themes were generated to analyse data in Section B and C in order to answer the research questions.

    A survey conducted in February 2025 on gender discrimination in South Korea revealed that more than **** of the respondents considered workplace discrimination against women to be a serious issue. The survey indicated that respondents generally viewed discrimination against women as more prevalent than discrimination against men in various areas, including the workplace, home, and school. Gender discrimination in South Korea South Korea has been working towards establishing a gender-equal society after a long history of male dominance. However, gender discrimination still exists, particularly affecting women. A survey revealed that women experience gender discrimination more often than men. This discrimination was complex and structural, occurring in all areas of society, including both professional environments and family settings. Outlook on gender inequality A survey conducted in 2024 revealed that only a small percentage of respondents were optimistic about seeing improvements in gender inequality in the near future. Despite this pessimism, some encouraging trends suggest potential advancements in gender equality and women's rights. Notably, the number of married women leaving the workforce to focus on parenting and household responsibilities has decreased. Additionally, as younger generations gain equal access to education and more opportunities for social advancement, it is anticipated that gender inequality will gradually lessen over time.

    Description

    Previous research has shown that people care less about men than about women who are left behind. We show that this finding extends to the domain of labor market discrimination: In identical scenarios, people judge discrimination against women more morally bad than discrimination against men. This result holds in a representative sample of the US population and in a larger but not representative sample of Amazon Mechanical Turk (Mturk) respondents. We test if this gender gap is driven by statistical fairness discrimination, a process in which people use the gender of the victim to draw inferences about other characteristics which matter for their fairness judgments. We test this explanation with a survey experiment in which we explicitly hold information about the victim of discrimination constant. Our results provide only mixed support for the statistical fairness discrimination explanation. In our representative sample, we see no meaningful or significant effect of the information treatments. By contrast, in our Mturk sample, we see that providing additional information partly reduces the effect of the victim’s gender on judgment of the discriminator. While people may engage in statistical fairness discrimination, this process is unlikely to be an exhaustive explanation for why discrimination against women is judged as worse.

    This study investigates discrimination against women when searching and applying for child care in a nationwide field experiment. We send emails from fictitious parents to 9,313 child care centers in Germany inquiring about access to child care. We randomize whether the email is sent by the child’s mother or father. Our results show that women receive shorter and less positive responses than men. The probability of receiving a response does not differ by gender, highlighting the importance of going beyond response rates to detect discrimination. We provide suggestive evidence that regional differences in gender discrimination are related to gender norms.

    Description

    This record for the Dataset 1 (Interviews & Focus Groups) from the Work Package 2 (Effects of, and Resistances to 'Anti-Gender' Mobilisations Across Europe) of the RESIST Project has been created in the Zenodo open repository, in line with the RESIST Project’s Data Management Plan, and according to the framework of the Open Science principles of the European Union. We followed the accepted gold-standard rule: “as open as possible – as closed as necessarily” to ensure research ethics, integrity, and compliance with the research policies of the EU and the consortium members.

    Data gathered during the Work Package 2 (Effects of, and Resistances to 'Anti-Gender' Mobilisations Across Europe) have been classified as SENSITIVE and therefore the dataset will not be available in open access repositories for ten years after the end of the project (that is until 01/10/2036). After 01/10/2036, if certain conditions outlined by the project consortium are met, the dataset will be released publicly on Zenodo.
