    Description

The National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) acquires aerial imagery during the agricultural growing seasons in the continental U.S. A primary goal of the NAIP program is to make digital ortho photography available to governmental agencies and the public within a year of acquisition. NAIP is administered by the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) through the Aerial Photography Field Office in Salt Lake City. This "leaf-on" imagery is used as a base layer for GIS programs in FSA's County Service Centers, and is used to maintain the Common Land Unit (CLU) boundaries.

Provides the ArcGIS Rest Services URLs for the public facing, most current year 1-meter or higher resolution 4-band NAIP web services for the lower 48 states, served by USDA-FSA Aerial Photography Field Office. It also provides the URL for the seamline services, which provides the image dates and other pertinent information about the NAIP acquisition. In addition, there are reference points to how to download NAIP CCMs and how to order uncompressed NAIP digital ortho quarter quad tiles (DOQQs), historical NAIP, and other historical imagery dating back to 1955.

    Description

This Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) imagery layer features recent high-resolution (1m or better) aerial imagery for the continental United States, made available by the USDA Farm Services Agency. The National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) acquires aerial imagery during the agricultural growing seasons in the continental United States. Approximately half of the US is collected each year and each state is typically collected every other year. This imagery layer is updated annually as new imagery is made available. The NAIP program aims to make the imagery available to governmental agencies and to the public within a year of collection. The imagery is published in 4-bands (Red, Green, Blue, and Near Infrared) where available. Additional NAIP renderings include Natural Color and Color Infrared. This layer currently includes NAIP imagery from 2010 through 2023. You can discover and access other maps and layers available for NAIP through the Living Atlas of the World and through the NAIP Imagery group. All imagery in this layer is sourced from the NAIP Registry of Open Data on AWS.

    Description

The USGS NAIP Imagery service from The National Map consists of 4-band high resolution images that combine the visual attributes of an aerial photograph with the spatial accuracy and reliability of a map. Resolution of National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) data is most commonly 1 meter, which means that every pixel in the digital orthoimage covers a one meter square of the earth’s surface. Some states to include Wyoming and New York began collection of 0.5 meter pixel resolution NAIP in 2015. Many states contribute orthoimagery to The National Map, and USGS relies on a partnership with the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency for NAIP data. The USGS NAIP Imagery service is a mosaic of natural color and color infrared (4-band) aerial imagery, containing NAIP and other imagery sources to complete the mosaic. The National Map download client allows free downloads of public domain compressed orthoimagery in JPEG 2000 (.jp2) format for the conterminous United States, with many urban areas and other locations at 1-foot (or better) resolution, also in JPEG 2000 (.jp2) format. For additional information on orthoimagery, go to https://nationalmap.gov/ortho.html. This imagery service is for viewing only, no downloading of the raster images available. Description

The Geospatial Data Gateway (GDG) provides access to a map library of over 100 high resolution vector and raster layers in the Geospatial Data Warehouse. It is the one stop source for environmental and natural resource data, available anytime, from anywhere. It allows a user to choose an area of interest, browse and select data, customize the format, then download or have it shipped on media. The map layers include data on: Public Land Survey System (PLSS), Census data, demographic statistics, precipitation, temperature, disaster events, conservation easements, elevation, geographic names, geology, government units, hydrography, hydrologic units, land use and land cover, map indexes, ortho imagery, soils, topographic images, and streets and roads. This service is made available through a close partnership between the three Service Center Agencies (SCA): Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), Farm Service Agency (FSA), and Rural Development (RD). Resources in this dataset:Resource Title: Geospatial Data Gateway. File Name: Web Page, url: https://gdg.sc.egov.usda.gov This is the main page for the GDG that includes several links to view, download, or order various datasets. This hosted feature layer is provided by the Farm Production and Conservation Business Center's Geospatial Enterprise Operations Branch (FPAC-BC-GEO) formerly the Aerial Photography Field Office (APFO) and shows the image acquisition dates for the 2015 National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) imagery. The image dates are important to help the user determine what crops if any can be seen on the imagery. This date index contains a polygon for each exposure used in the creation of the imagery. To view the polygons for a particular state go to the bookmark tab in the upper right of the map. Once a state is chosen the view will zoom to the state and the polygons will appear. Click on a polygon to find out more information about any area on the image. Attribute information includes the following:Image acquisition date, color type, camera type, camera manufacturer, camera model, camera hardware and firmware version, and aircraft type. For access, download, and visualization for this and other years of imagery dates please visit the new NAIP Image Dates Data Hub.For more information about the NAIP program visit the NAIP Informational Map Journal and the NAIP History Map Tour Story Map.

description: USGS Imagery Only is a tile cache base map of orthoimagery in The National Map visible to the 1:18,000 scale. Orthoimagery data are typically high resolution images that combine the visual attributes of an aerial photograph with the spatial accuracy and reliability of a planimetric map. USGS digital orthoimage resolution may vary from 6 inches to 1 meter. In the former resolution, every pixel in an orthoimage covers a six inch square of the earth's surface, while in the latter resolution, one meter square is represented by each pixel. Blue Marble: Next Generation source is displayed at small to medium scales. However, the majority of the imagery service source is from the National Agriculture Imagery Program (NAIP) for the conterminous United States. The data is 1-meter pixel resolution with "leaf-on". Collection of NAIP imagery is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Farm Service Agency (FSA). Description

This dataset contains high-resolution aerial imagery from the USDA NAIP program [1], high-resolution land cover labels from the Chesapeake Conservancy, low-resolution land cover labels from the USGS NLCD 2011 dataset, low-resolution multi-spectral imagery from Landsat 8, and high-resolution building footprint masks from Microsoft Bing, formatted to accelerate machine learning research into land cover mapping. The Chesapeake Conservancy spent over 10 months and $1.3 million creating a consistent six-class land cover dataset covering the Chesapeake Bay watershed. While the purpose of the mapping effort by the Chesapeake Conservancy was to create land cover data to be used in conservation efforts, the same data can be used to train machine learning models that can be applied over even wider areas. The organization of this dataset (detailed below) will allow users to easily test questions related to this problem of geographic generalization, i.e. how to train machine learning models that can be applied over even wider areas. For example, this dataset can be used to directly estimate how well a model trained on data from Maryland can generalize over the remainder of the Chesapeake Bay.
