The USGS Governmental Unit Boundaries dataset from The National Map (TNM) represents major civil areas for the Nation, including States or Territories, counties (or equivalents), Federal and Native American areas, congressional districts, minor civil divisions, incorporated places (such as cities and towns), and unincorporated places. Boundaries data are useful for understanding the extent of jurisdictional or administrative areas for a wide range of applications, including mapping or managing resources, and responding to natural disasters. Boundaries data also include extents of forest, grassland, park, wilderness, wildlife, and other reserve areas useful for recreational activities, such as hiking and backpacking. Boundaries data are acquired from a variety of government sources. The data represents the source data with minimal editing or review by USGS. Please refer to the feature-level metadata for information on the data source. The National Map boundaries data is commonly combined with other data themes, such as elevation, hydrography, structures, and transportation, to produce general reference base maps. The National Map viewer allows free downloads of public domain boundaries data in either ESRI File Geodatabase or Shapefile formats. The World Database on Protected Areas (WDPA) is the most comprehensive global database of marine and terrestrial protected areas, updated on a monthly basis, and is one of the key global biodiversity data sets being widely used by scientists, businesses, governments, International secretariats and others to inform planning, policy decisions and management. The WDPA is a joint project between UN Environment and the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). The compilation and management of the WDPA is carried out by UN Environment World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), in collaboration with governments, non-governmental organisations, academia and industry. There are monthly updates of the data which are made available online through the Protected Planet website where the data is both viewable and downloadable. Data and information on the world's protected areas compiled in the WDPA are used for reporting to the Convention on Biological Diversity on progress towards reaching the Aichi Biodiversity Targets (particularly Target 11), to the UN to track progress towards the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals, to some of the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) core indicators, and other international assessments and reports including the Global Biodiversity Outlook, as well as for the publication of the United Nations List of Protected Areas. Every two years, UNEP-WCMC releases the Protected Planet Report on the status of the world's protected areas and recommendations on how to meet international goals and targets. Many platforms are incorporating the WDPA to provide integrated information to diverse users, including businesses and governments, in a range of sectors including mining, oil and gas, and finance. For example, the WDPA is included in the Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool, an innovative decision support tool that gives users easy access to up-to-date information that allows them to identify biodiversity risks and opportunities within a project boundary. The reach of the WDPA is further enhanced in services developed by other parties, such as the Global Forest Watch and the Digital Observatory for Protected Areas, which provide decision makers with access to monitoring and alert systems that allow whole landscapes to be managed better. The Near Real-time Data Access (NeRDA) Portal is making near real-time data available to our stakeholders and interested parties. We're helping the transition to a smart, flexible system that connects large-scale energy generation right down to the solar panels and electric vehicles installed in homes, businesses and communities right across the country. In line with our Open Networks approach, our Near Real-time Data Access (NeRDA) portal is live and making available power flow information from our EHV, HV, and LV networks, taking in data from a number of sources, including SCADA PowerOn, our installed low voltage monitoring equipment, load model forecasting tool, connectivity model, and our Long-Term Development Statement (LTDS). Making near real-time data accessible from DNOs is facilitating an economic and efficient development and operation in the transition to a low carbon economy. NeRDA is a key enabler for the delivery of Net Zero - by opening network data, it is creating opportunities for the flexible markets, helping to identify the best locations to invest flexible resources, and connect faster. The aim of this paper is to investigate the re-use of research data deposited in digital data archive in the social sciences. The study examines the quantity, type, and purpose of data downloads by analyzing enriched user log data collected from Swiss data archive. The findings show that quantitative datasets are downloaded increasingly from the digital archive and that downloads focus heavily on a small share of the datasets. The most frequently downloaded datasets are survey datasets collected by research organizations offering possibilities for longitudinal studies. Users typically download only one dataset, but a group of heavy downloaders form a remarkable share of all downloads. The main user group downloading data from the archive are students who use the data in their studies. Furthermore, datasets downloaded for research purposes often, but not always, serve to be used in scholarly publications. Enriched log data from data archives offer an interesting macro level perspective on the use and users of the services and help understanding the increasing role of repositories in the social sciences. The study provides insights into the potential of collecting and using log data for studying and evaluating data archive use.

This dataset supports the SWAMP Data Dashboard, a public-facing tool developed by the Surface Water Ambient Monitoring Program (SWAMP) to provide accessible, user-friendly access to water quality monitoring data across California. The dashboard and its associated datasets are designed to help the public, researchers, and decision-makers explore and download monitoring data collected from California’s surface waters.

This dataset includes five distinct resources:

• SWAMP Stations – Geospatial and descriptive information about SWAMP monitoring sites.
• Water Quality Results – Field and lab analysis results for chemical and physical parameters measured in water samples.
• Toxicity Summary Results – Summarized results from aquatic toxicity tests. Summary records are entries in the database that summarize the results from multiple replicate toxicity tests of the same sample water.
• Habitat Results – Data on physical habitat conditions typically collected alongside biological monitoring to provide context for interpreting water quality conditions. Includes scores for the California Stream Condition Index (CSCI) and Algal Stream Condition Index (ASCI).
• Tissue Summary Results – Annual summary statistics of contaminant concentrations in aquatic organism tissue samples. The data are derived from raw individual and composite tissue sample results.

These data are collected by SWAMP and its partners to support water quality assessments, identify trends, and inform water resource management. The SWAMP Data Dashboard provides interactive visualizations and filtering tools to explore this data by region, parameter, and more.

The SWAMP dataset is sourced from the California Environmental Data Exchange Network (CEDEN), which serves as the central repository for water quality data collected by various monitoring programs throughout the state. As such, there is some overlap between this dataset and the broader CEDEN datasets also published on the California Open Data Portal (see Related Resources). This SWAMP dataset represents a curated subset of CEDEN data, specifically tailored for use in the SWAMP Data Dashboard.

The Facility Registry Service (FRS) identifies and geospatially locates facilities, sites or places subject to environmental regulations or of environmental interest. Using vigorous verification and data management procedures, FRS integrates facility data from EPA's national program systems, other federal agencies, and State and tribal master facility records and provides EPA with a centrally managed, single source of comprehensive and authoritative information on facilities. This data set contains the FRS facilities that link to the programs listed above once the program data has been integrated into the FRS database. Included in this package are a file geodatabase, Esri ArcMap map document and an XML file of this metadata record. Full FGDC metadata records for each layer are contained in the database.

The National Sample Survey of Registered Nurses (NSSRN) Download makes data from the survey readily available to users in a one-stop download. The Survey has been conducted approximately every four years since 1977. For each survey year, HRSA has prepared two Public Use File databases in flat ASCII file format without delimiters. The 2008 data are also offerred in SAS and SPSS formats. Information likely to point to an individual in a sparsely-populated county has been withheld. General Public Use Files are State-based and provide information on nurses without identifying the County and Metropolitan Area in which they live or work. County Public Use Files provide most, but not all, the same information on the nurse from the General Public Use File, and also identifies the County and Metropolitan Areas in which the nurses live or work. NSSRN data are to be used for research purposes only and may not be used in any manner to identify individual respondents.

This submission comprises two downloadable .zip archives. Each archive contains spreadsheets with 3-D data and a .txt document describing the data. The Mesh Files .zip download contains data regarding the lithologic contacts of the granitoid and overlying sedimentary basin fill. The Initial Conditions .zip download contains data regarding temperature, pressure, and stress. These data were generated during Utah FORGE Phase 2 and exported from Seequent Leapfrog Geothermal. They are intended for use in 3-D earth modeling.

These data are Digital Surface Models (DSM) derived from interferometric synthetic aperture radar (ifsar) data. A DSM is a 3 dimensional representation of surface elevations in an area, including elevations of man-made structures and vegetation. The USGS performs minimal quality assurance and no reprocessing of the DSM data. USGS distributes the DSM data as received from the contractors, partners or contributing entities.
