For all facilities which undertake one or more of the activities specified in Annex I above the applicable capacity thresholds, the reporting covers: (a) releases to air, water and land of any pollutant specified in Annex II for which the applicable threshold value specified in Annex II is exceeded; (b) off-site transfers of hazardous waste exceeding 2 tonnes per year or of non hazardous waste exceeding 2000 tonnes per year, for any operations of recovery or disposal with the exception of the disposal operations of land treatment and deep injection referred to in Article 6, indicating with "R" or "D" respectively whether the waste is destined for recovery or disposal and, for transboundary movements of hazardous waste, the name and address of the recoverer or the disposer of the waste and the actual recovery or disposal site; (c) off-site transfers of any pollutant specified in Annex II in waste water destined for waste-water treatment for which the threshold value specified in Annex II, column 1b is exceeded. The European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR) is the new Europe-wide register that provides easily accessible key environmental data from industrial facilities in European Union Member States. The UK Contribution to the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register is the UK's contribution to the E-PRTR.

E-PRTR and LCP integrated data reporting This obligation applies from the 2018 reporting year onwards. Since 2020, the reporting deadline is 30 November (i.e. 11 months after the end of the reporting year). This obligation covers: 1) Data to be reported by Member States according to Article 7 of Regulation 166/2006/EC on the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR). This metadata refers to the geospatial dataset representing the status of the EEA Industrial Reporting database as of 15 December 2023 (version 10). The release and emissions data cover the period 2007-2022 as result of the data reported under the new E-PRTR facilities, 2017-2022 for IED installations and WI/co-WIs, and 2016-2022 for LCPs. These data are reported to EEA under Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) 2010/75/EU Commission Implementing Decision 2018/1135 and the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR) Regulation (EC) No 166/2006 Commission Implementing Decision 2019/1741. The dataset brings together data formerly reported separately under E-PRTR Regulation Art.7 and under IED Art.72. Additional reporting requirements under the IED are also included.

EU Registry on Industrial Sites The EU registry on industrial sites is a data flow that collects information on the facilities, installations, and plants which are obliged to report under the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (E-PRTR) Regulation and the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED). This obligation finds its legal basis in the Commission Implementing Decision 2018/1135/EU (http://data.europa.eu/eli/dec_impl/2018/1135/oj). The first reporting year for this data flow was 2017. From reporting year 2019 thereafter, countries must report the year - 1 information on 30/09/yy (e.g. 2020 information on 30/09/2021).

Current emissions data from industrial units, reporting 2021 (Regulation (EU) 166/2006, European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register). Applies to data from the year 2020.

As of 2020, Member States report the European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register) annually integrated with emissions data for Large Combustion Plants (Industrial Emissions Directive), via the integrated LCP and E-PRTR reporting. The relevant emissions are linked via an Identification number to the respective plant reported to the EU Registry on Industrial Sites — Sites and facilities (European Pollutant Release and Transfer Register).
