Seminars are an important channel through which researchers receive feedback on their work and disseminate it. This paper presents descriptive evidence on the representation of female teams, male teams, and mixed teams in economics seminars. I use a balanced panel of 270 institutions in the academic years 2018-2020. I find that before COVID-19, only 7.4 percent of presented projects were authored by female teams, 59.2 percent of projects were authored by male teams, and 33.5 percent of projects were authored by mixed teams. The introduction of virtual seminars during the COVID-19 pandemic led to more balanced distribution across team types.

This article reviews the impact of the heavy snow in December 2010 and the Royal Wedding bank holiday in April 2011 on related economic time series. It will look at the Production, Construction, Services, Retail Sales and Labour Market series to determine which sectors of the economy were most affected. It does not make any attempt to quantify the overall impact of these two events on economic growth, in line with the ONS Special Events policy.

This paper contributes to the current literature investigating whether hosting sports mega-events brings tangible economic benefits to the host country. Specifically, we examine whether staging the Olympic Games and the FIFA World Cups leads to observable economic growth. The research has been conducted through a quasi-experimental study in the spirit of the difference-in-differences method. The research subject includes states in which the Olympic Games and FIFA World Cup were held between 2010 and 2016: Canada, South Africa, Great Britain, and Brazil. We found that there is no significant effect of hosting sports mega-events on economic growth.

This dataset features 25,000 annotated sentences extracted from official central bank documents worldwide.
