    Description

The Fuel Economy Label and CAFE Data asset contains measured summary fuel economy estimates and test data for light-duty vehicle manufacturers by model for certification as required under the Energy Policy and Conservation Act of 1975 (EPCA) and The Energy Independent Security Act of 2007 (EISA) to collect vehicle fuel economy estimates for the creation of Economy Labels and for the calculation of Corporate Average Fuel Economy (CAFE). Manufacturers submit data on an annual basis, or as needed to document vehicle model changes. The EPA performs targeted fuel economy confirmatory tests on approximately 15% of vehicles submitted for validation. Confirmatory data on vehicles is associated with its corresponding submission data to verify the accuracy of manufacturer submissions beyond standard business rules. Submitted data comes in XML format or as documents, with the majority of submissions being sent in XML, and includes descriptive information on the vehicle itself, fuel economy information, and the manufacturer's testing approach. This data may contain proprietary information (CBI) such as information on estimated sales or other data elements indicated by the submitter as confidential. CBI data is not publically available; however, within the EPA data can accessed under the restrictions of the Office of Transportation and Air Quality (OTAQ) CBI policy [RCS Link]. Datasets are segmented by vehicle model/manufacturer and/or year with corresponding fuel economy, test, and certification data. Data assets are stored in EPA's Verify system.Coverage began in 1974 with early records being primarily paper documents which did not go through the same level of validation as primarily digital submissions which started in 2008. Early data is available to the public digitally starting from 1978, but more complete digital certification data is available starting in 2008. Fuel economy submission data prior to 2006 was calculated using an older formula; however, mechanisms exist to make this data comparable to current results.Fuel Economy Label and CAFE Data submission documents with metadata, certificate and summary decision information is utilized and made publically available through the EPA/DOE's Fuel Economy Guide Website (https://www.fueleconomy.gov/) as well as EPA's Smartway Program Website (https://www.epa.gov/smartway/) and Green Vehicle Guide Website (http://ofmpub.epa.gov/greenvehicles/Index.do;jsessionid=3F4QPhhYDYJxv1L3YLYxqh6J2CwL0GkxSSJTl2xgMTYPBKYS00vw!788633877) after it has been quality assured. Where summary data appears inaccurate, OTAQ returns the entries for review to their originator.

    Description

Iran is a country locating in Middle east. Iran is located in a strategic region at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and Africa. This has made it a major center of trade and commerce for centuries. Iran is also a member of the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

Despite its rich history, large population, and abundant economic potential, Iran is a lower-middle-income country (according to the World Bank). It has large reserves of raw materials, including oil, gas, and minerals, but unfortunately, it does not fully utilize these resources.

This dataset is all the data about Iran in the world bank website. Here is a summary:

    Economic data(2022/23) - GDP (current US$): 463billion - GDPpercapita(currentUS): $5,211 - Inflation, GDP deflator (annual %): 31.5% - Oil rents (% of GDP): 25.6% - Gini index: 38.8 (2019)

    Social data - Population, total: 88.5 million (2022) - Population growth (annual %): 1.1% (2022) - Net migration: 28,080 (2021) - Life expectancy at birth, total (years): 77 (2021) - Human Capital Index (HCI) (scale 0-1): 0.63 (2020)

Environmental data - CO2 emissions (metric tons per capita): 7.2 (2021) - Renewable energy consumption (% of total final energy consumption): 3.6% (2021) - Forest area (% of land area): 7.8% (2020)

You can access the data in this link. There is also lots of plots and other fun tools which you should try.

[World Bank notes] The World Bank systematically assesses the appropriateness of official exchange rates as conversion factors. In Iran, multiple or dual exchange rate activity exists and must be accounted for appropriately in underlying statistics. An alternative estimate (“alternative conversion factor” - PA.NUS.ATLS) is thus calculated as a weighted average of the different exchange rates in use in Iran. Doing so better reflects economic reality and leads to more accurate cross-country comparisons and country classifications by income level. For Iran, this applies to 1972-2022. Alternative conversion factors are used in the Atlas methodology and elsewhere in World Development Indicators as single-year conversion factors.

It is noted that the reporting period for national accounts data is designated as either calendar year basis (CY) or fiscal year basis (FY). For Iran, it is fiscal year based (fiscal year-end: March 20).

    Description

    Context

This dataset is created as part of Opportunity Insights' Economic Tracker, which you can access directly (and with a very nice user interface) at https://www.tracktherecovery.org. The objective of this data is to allow everyone to track the state of the US economy in "real time" - in other words, the data is made available almost as soon as it comes in, and thus there is very little lag between the dataset and the current date. Another interesting feature is that the dataset is very granular, meaning that it can inform you about the economy even at the county or city level, and in some cases with breakdowns by economic sector or by income bracket.

    Content

In short, the data originates from big companies that offer payments services, or job web portals, etc - these companies share their usage data with Opportunity Insight (in a way that protects user privacy, as you can read in detail in OI's website) and they, in turn, match that data with what would correspond to official statistics. Thus, the dataset can be reasonably interpreted as being a sort of tracker for the economy, even though OI does not tap from the same multitude of sources like the official statistical agencies. Further information about the content, including the specific files, can be found at the README page below.

    Acknowledgements

This dataset is fully attributed to Opportunity Insights, and it is their complete merit. If you use it, please make sure to cite it adequately, by pointing to their website (as above) and to the following paper: "How Did COVID-19 and Stabilization Policies Affect Spending and Employment? A New Real-Time Economic Tracker Based on Private Sector Data", by Raj Chetty, John Friedman, Nathaniel Hendren, Michael Stepner, and the Opportunity Insights Team. June 2020. Description

The World Economic Outlook (WEO) database contains selected macroeconomic data series from the statistical appendix of the World Economic Outlook report, which presents the IMF staff's analysis and projections of economic developments at the global level, in major country groups and individual countries. The WEO dataset is released twice a year: April and September/October. Please fill out this online form for access to the confidential version--not for redistribution or transfer to any unauthorized third party. The public version is available on the IMF website.

The IMF's World Economic Outlook uses a "bottom-up" approach in producing its forecasts; that is, country teams within the IMF generate projections for individual countries. These are then aggregated, and through a series of iterations where the aggregates feed back into individual countries' forecasts, forecasts converge to the projections reported in the WEO.

Because forecasts are made by the individual country teams, the methodology can vary from country to country and series to series depending on many factors. To get more information on a specific country and series forecast, you may contact the country teams directly; from the Countries tab on the IMF website.
