The highest employment rate was found among Mexican-Americans, at 64.1 percent, and the lowest employment rate was found among Puerto Ricans, at 55.2 percent. In total, around 60 percent of all working-age Americans were employed at this time.

In the United States, ** percent of Hispanic adults have lost employment income due to the coronavirus between March and June 2020. The survey participants with the lowest share of employment income loss were the white/nonhispanic respondents, at around ** percent.

As of May 5, 2020, ** percent of Hispanic respondents said that they lost their job or were laid off as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak. In comparison, ** percent of White respondents said that they lost their job or were laid off.

Between July 2020 and April 2021, a total of ** percent of new hires recruited as non-editorial staff at Insider were Black, Indigenous, or people of color. Meanwhile, the company hired more white people for its editorial teams, with white people accounting for ** percent of newly-hired editorial staff and BIPOC making up just ** percent.

The IPUMS Contextual Determinants of Health (CDOH) data series provides access to measures of disparities, policies, and counts, by state or county, for historically marginalized populations in the United States including Black, Asian, Hispanic/Latina/o/e/x, and LGBTQ+ persons, and women. The IPUMS CDOH data are made available through ICPSR/DSDR for merging with the National Couples' Health and Time Study (NCHAT), United States, 2020-2021 (ICPSR 38417) by approved restricted data researchers. All other researchers can access the IPUMS CDOH data via the IPUMS CDOH website. Unlike other IPUMS products, the CDOH data are organized into multiple categories related to Race and Ethnicity, Sexual and Gender Minority, Gender, and Politics. The measures were created from a wide variety of data sources (e.g., IPUMS NHGIS, the Census Bureau, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Movement Advancement Project, and Myers Abortion Facility Database). Measures are currently available for states or counties from approximately 2015 to 2020. The Race and Ethnicity measure in this release is an indicator of employment inequity, which includes a ratio between the proportion of people aged 16-64, in the civilian labor force, who are employed and identify as White alone, not Hispanic or Latino and the proportion of people aged 16-64, in the civilian labor force, who are employed and identify as a different race/ethnic group (Black, Asian, and Hispanic). Information about each regular hire* employee at specific points in time, at the end of each calendar year. Employee-related information includes ethnicity, gender and age range. Age range can change from year to year. Job-related information includes date of regular hire, type of regular hire, date of any termination, department, title, SOC job code, SOC job code description, EEO4 job code and management level.

Data is at the end of each calendar year for each of 2013 through 2018. Data is updated annually.

Hire dates for regular hire employees hired before 2013 are all set to December 31, 2012, so accurate employee longevity counts cannot be determined. Employee numbers in the data set are masked, and are not actual employee numbers.

• Regular hire employees have full salaries and benefits and do not have fixed terms on their employment.
