Nowadays, there are lots of datasets available for training and experimentation in the field of recommender systems. Specifically, in the recommendation of audiovisual content, the MovieLens dataset is a prominent example. It is focused on the user-item relationship, providing actual interaction data between users and movies. However, although movies can be described with several characteristics, this dataset only offers limited information about the movie genres.
In this work, we propose enriching the MovieLens dataset by incorporating metadata available on the web (such as cast, description, keywords, etc.) and movie trailers. By leveraging the trailers, we extract audio information and generate transcriptions for each trailer, introducing a crucial textual dimension to the dataset. The audio information was extracted by the waveform and frequency analysis, followed by the application of dimensionality reduction techniques. For the transcription generation, the deep learning model Whisper was used. Finally, metadata was obtained from TMDB, and the BERT model was applied to extract embeddings.
These additional attributes enrich the original dataset, providing deeper and more precise analysis. Then, the use of this extended and enhanced dataset could drive significant advancements in recommendation systems, enhancing user experiences by providing more relevant and tailored movie recommendations based on their tastes and preferences.

Forbs (“wildflowers”) are important contributors to grassland biodiversity and services, but they are vulnerable to environmental changes that affect their coexistence with grasses. In a factorial experiment at 94 sites on 6 continents, we tested the global generality of several broad predictions arising from previous studies: (1) Forb cover and richness decline under nutrient enrichment, particularly nitrogen enrichment, which benefits grasses at the expense of forbs. (2) Forb cover and richness increase under herbivory by large mammals, especially when nutrients are enriched as grazing will release forbs from decreased grass competition under fertilization. (3) Forb richness and cover are less affected by nutrient enrichment and herbivory in more arid climates, because water limitation reduces the impacts of competition with grasses. We found strong evidence for the first, partial support for the second, and no support for the third prediction. Forb richness and cover are reduced by nutrient addition, with nitrogen having the greatest effect; forb cover is enhanced by large mammal herbivory, although only under conditions of nutrient enrichment and high herbivore intensity; and forb richness is lower in more arid sites, but is not affected by consistent climate-nutrient or climate-herbivory interactions. We also found that nitrogen enrichment disproportionately affects forbs in certain families (Asteraceae, Fabaceae). Our results underscore that anthropogenic nitrogen addition is a major threat to grassland forbs and the ecosystem services they support, but grazing under high herbivore intensity can offset these nutrient effects.

The field of phylogenetics is on the cusp of a major revolution, enabled by new methods of data collection that leverage both genomic resources and recent advances in DNA sequencing. Previous phylogenetic work has required labor-intensive marker development coupled with single-locus PCR and DNA sequencing on a clade-by-clade and marker-by-marker basis. Here, we present a new, cost-efficient, and rapid approach to obtaining data from hundreds of genes for potentially hundreds of individuals for deep and shallow phylogenetic studies. Specifically, we designed probes for target enrichment of >500 loci in highly-conserved anchor regions of vertebrate genomes (flanked by less conserved regions) from five model species and tested enrichment efficiency in non-model species up to 254 million years divergent from the nearest model. We found that hybrid enrichment using conserved probes (anchored enrichment) can recover a large number of unlinked loci that are useful at a diversity of phylogenetic timescales. This new approach has the potential to not only expedite resolution of deep-scale portions of the Tree of Life but also to greatly accelerate resolution of the large number of shallow clades that remain unresolved. The combination of low cost (~1% of the cost of traditional Sanger sequencing and ~3.5% of the cost of high-throughput amplicon sequencing for projects on the scale of 500 loci x 100 individuals) and rapid data collection (~2 weeks of laboratory time) are expected to make this approach tractable even for researchers working on systems with limited or non-existent genomic resources.
