    This dataset reports Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) measurements. CTD measurements were taken along with turbulence measurements near the drifter deployments of the Submesoscale Processes and Lagrangian Analysis on the SHelf (SPLASH) experiment on board the R/V F.G. Walton Smith cruise WS17107 in the northern Gulf of Mexico from 2017-04-19 to 2017-04-25. The data were collected using a VMP (Vertical Microstructure Profiler) instrument. The cruise WS17107 was led by chief scientist Dr. Brian Haus.     This dataset reports Conductivity, Temperature, Depth (CTD) measurements. Walton Smith cruise WS16015 in the Gulf of Mexico from 2016-01-29 to 2016-01-31. The data were collected near the FRONT phenomena, in deep water and shallow water by Vertical Microstructure Profiler (VMP) instrument. The data were collected from 100 m depth to the water surface. The cruise WS16015, led by chief scientist Dr. Eric D'Asaro, objective was to study submesoscale dynamics, their interactions, and their impact on transport.
