    Mobile Map Packages (MMPK’s) can be used in the ESRI Field Maps app (no login required), either by direct download in the Field Maps app or by sideloading from your PC. They can also be used in desktop applications that support MMPK’s such as ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Navigator. MMPK’s will expire quarterly and have a warning for the user at that time but will still function afterwards. They are updated quarterly to ensure you have the most up to date data possible. These mobile map packages include the following national datasets along with others: Surface Management Agency, Public Land Survey System (PLSS), BLM Recreation Sites, National Conservation Lands, ESRI’s Navigation Basemap and Vector Tile Package.     Description

    These products were developed to provide scientific and correspondingly spatially explicit information regarding the distribution and abundance of conifers (namely, singleleaf pinyon (Pinus monophylla), Utah juniper (Juniperus osteosperma), and western juniper (Juniperus occidentalis)) in Nevada and portions of northeastern California. Encroachment of these trees into sagebrush ecosystems of the Great Basin can present a threat to populations of greater sage-grouse (Centrocercus urophasianus). These data provide land managers and other interested parties with a high-resolution representation of conifers across the range of sage-grouse habitat in Nevada and northeastern California that can be used for a variety of management and research applications. We mapped conifer trees at 1 x 1 meter resolution across the extent of all Nevada Department of Wildlife Sage-grouse Population Management Units plus a 10 km buffer. Using 2010 and 2013 National Agriculture Imagery Program digital orthophoto quads (DOQQs) as our reference imagery, we applied object-based image analysis with Feature Analyst software (Overwatch, 2013) to classify conifer features across our study extent. This method relies on machine learning algorithms that extract features from imagery based on their spectral and spatial signatures. Conifers in 6230 DOQQs were classified and outputs were then tested for errors of omission and commission using stratified random sampling. Results of the random sampling were used to populate a confusion matrix and calculate the overall map accuracy of 84.3 percent. We provide 5 sets of products for this mapping process across the entire mapping extent: (1) a shapefile representing accuracy results linked to our mapping subunits; (2) binary rasters representing conifer presence or absence at a 1 x 1 meter resolution; (3) a 30 x 30 meter resolution raster representing percentage of conifer canopy cover within each cell from 0 to 100; (4) 1 x 1 meter resolution canopy cover classification rasters derived from a 50 meter radius moving window analysis; and (5) a raster prioritizing pinyon-juniper management for sage-grouse habitat restoration efforts. The latter three products can be reclassified into user-specified bins to meet different management or study objectives, which include approximations for phases of encroachment. These products complement, and in some cases improve upon, existing conifer maps in the western United States, and will help facilitate sage-grouse habitat management and sagebrush ecosystem restoration.     This digital vector dataset represents the Northern Nevada Rift as published in an article describing the relationship of epithermal gold deposits to large-scale fractures in Northern Nevada (Ponce and Glen, 2002; see larger work citation). The data are represented on figures 1-5 in the source publication and were later provided in an Esri shapefile via written communication from D.A. Ponce in 2017. An attribute field was added to distinguish the northern Nevada rift-east, northern Nevada rift-central, and northern Nevada rift-west.

    BLM NV PLSSTownship: This dataset represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular surveys. The primary source for the data is cadastral survey records housed by the BLM supplemented with local records and geographic control coordinates from states, counties as well as other federal agencies such as the USGS and USFS. The data has been converted from source documents to digital form and transferred into a GIS format that is compliant with FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standards and Guidelines for publication. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. This data set includes the following: PLSS Fully Intersected (all of the PLSS feature at the atomic or smallest polygon level), PLSS Townships, First Divisions and Second Divisions (the hierarchical break down of the PLSS Rectangular surveys) PLSS Special surveys (non rectangular components of the PLSS) Meandered Water, Corners and Conflicted Areas (known areas of gaps or overlaps between Townships or state boundaries).     This submission contains an ESRI map package (.mpk) with an embedded geodatabase for GIS resources used or derived in the Nevada Machine Learning project, meant to accompany the final report. The package includes layer descriptions, layer grouping, and symbology. Layer groups include: new/revised datasets (paleo-geothermal features, geochemistry, geophysics, heat flow, slip and dilation, potential structures, geothermal power plants, positive and negative test sites), machine learning model input grids, machine learning models (Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Extreme Learning Machine (ELM), Bayesian Neural Network (BNN), Principal Component Analysis (PCA/PCAk), Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF/NMFk) - supervised and unsupervised), original NV Play Fairway data and models, and NV cultural/reference data.     The SMA dataset was created to display the management status of the land through the BLM Administrative State of Nevada. In 2010 it was updated to be coincident with GCDB lines from Premier data. The ownership for each smallest division was identified by the previous land status layer. In areas of confusion or pieces that were divided in areas smaller then GCDB, the MTP was referenced as the final authoritative source. This project was completed 8/10/10, and is updated as necessary. Updates have not occurred to bring the dataset into alignment with the most current CadNSDI PLSS data and there are known alignment errors.

Point cloud data is no longer recoverable from the EPA, but original DEM tiles in ESRI GRID format were obtained and merged into a single data set. Coverage is incomplete over the dataset area.

    Description

    This raster represents a continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI, created using ArcGIS 10.2.2) values for Nevada during spring, which is a surrogate for habitat conditions during the sage-grouse breeding and nesting period. Summary of steps to create Habitat Categories: HABITAT SUITABILITY INDEX: The HSI was derived from a generalized linear mixed model (specified by binomial distribution) that contrasted data from multiple environmental factors at used sites (telemetry locations) and available sites (random locations). Predictor variables for the model represented vegetation communities at multiple spatial scales, water resources, habitat configuration, urbanization, roads, elevation, ruggedness, and slope. Vegetation data was derived from various mapping products, which included NV SynthMap (Petersen 2008, SageStitch (Comer et al. 2002, LANDFIRE (Landfire 2010), and the CA Fire and Resource Assessment Program (CFRAP 2006). The analysis was updated to include high resolution percent cover within 30 x 30 m pixels for Sagebrush, non-sagebrush, herbaceous vegetation, and bare ground (C. Homer, unpublished; based on the methods of Homer et al. 2014, Xian et al. 2015 ) and conifer (primarily pinyon-juniper, P. Coates, unpublished). The pool of telemetry data included the same data from 1998 - 2013 used by Coates et al. (2014); additional telemetry location data from field sites in 2014 were added to the dataset. The dataset was then split according calendar date into three seasons (spring, summer, winter). Summer included telemetry locations (n = 14,058) from mid-March to June. All age and sex classes of marked grouse were used in the analysis. Sufficient data (i.e., a minimum of 100 locations from at least 20 marked Sage-grouse) for modeling existed in 10 subregions for spring and summer, and seven subregions in winter, using all age and sex classes of marked grouse. It is important to note that although this map is composed of HSI values derived from the seasonal data, it does not explicitly represent habitat suitability for reproductive females (i.e., nesting and with broods). Insufficient data were available to allow for estimation of this habitat type for all seasons throughout the study area extent. A Resource Selection Function (RSF) was calculated using R Software (v 3.13) for each subregion and using generalized linear models to derive model-averaged parameter estimates for each covariate across a set of additive models. Subregional RSFs were transformed into Habitat Suitability Indices, and averaged together to produce an overall statewide HSI whereby a relative probability of occurrence was calculated for each raster cell during the spring. In order to account for discrepancies in HSI values caused by varying ecoregions within Nevada, the HSI was divided into north and south extents using a slightly modified flood region boundary (Mason 1999) that was designed to represent respective mesic and xeric regions of the state. North and south HSI rasters were each relativized according to their maximum value to rescale between zero and one, then mosaicked once more into a state-wide extent.     This polygon feature class shows the spatial extent and boundaries of Areas of Critical Environmental Concern that have become officially designated by the BLM Administrative State of Nevada. These polygon features were previously in a pre-designated status (i.e. being considered as areas to be eventually designated as official ACEC designated polygonst). Once these polygon feature left the Pre-Designated phase (transitioned from a Considered to Designated status), they were removed from the ACEC Pre-designated polygon feature class and placed in this ACEC Designated polygon feature class.

    BLM NV PLSS Metadata Glance: MetadataGlance provides PLSS data steward content for individual PLSS units.This dataset represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular surveys.
