Note: The shapefile download may fail when downloading the entire dataset. If this happens, download the file geodatabase instead.Feature class contains 2-foot interval contours of the area surrounding and including the Eugene urban growth boundary. Contours have been derived by LCOG from 2009 LiDAR data. The LiDAR data was prepared by Watershed Science for DOGAMI. General processing includes (1) joining Junction City, Coburg, Eugene East and Eugene West bare-earth quads into one mosaic, (2) smoothing the mosaic with a focal mean (3 x 3 rectangle), (3) contouring the smoothed bare-earth mosaic, and (4) quality-checking along the edges of the quads to insure matching contours. This layer is a digital copy of the adopted Eugene urban reserves boundary for informational purposes only. Urban reserves are a special designation, allowed by state law, for lands outside the urban growth boundary (UGB) that can be considered a first priority if and when Eugene needs to expand for its growing population. Land designated as urban reserves will remain rural, and cannot be urbanized, unless it is brought into the city’s UGB through a formal process for expansion. For additional information on urban reserves, please visit https://www.eugene-or.gov/3885/Urban-Reserves.The Eugene urban reserves boundary aligns with tax lot lines from November 2018. Tax lot boundaries may shift slightly over time, but the Eugene urban reserves boundary will remain static. There is some imprecision in how tax lot lines are shown; if you would like clarification on whether your property is included in Eugene urban reserves, please reach out to staff at UrbanReserves@eugene-or.gov.Terms of UseThis layer is a digital copy of the adopted Eugene urban reserves boundary. Land located within the Eugene Urban Growth Area is zoned to provide areas suitable for certain types of development. Each zone provides a set of regulations governing the uses, building setbacks, height, and other development standards. Property may also be subject to an overlay zone. The overlay establishes additional regulations beyond the base zone to address specific community objectives, such as protection of environmentally sensitive areas or improving the efficient use of public transit. In some cases, overlays may provide an exception to the standard regulations for the base zone.Base Zones: Land located within the Eugene Urban Growth Boundary is zoned to provide areas suitable for certain types of development.
