    Description

This excel contains results from the 2017 State of Narragansett Bay and Its Watershed Technical Report (nbep.org), Chapter 4: "Population." The methods for analyzing population were developed by the US Environmental Protection Agency ORD Atlantic Coastal Environmental Sciences Division in collaboration with the Narragansett Bay Estuary Program and other partners. Population rasters were generated using the USGS dasymetric mapping tool (see http://geography.wr.usgs.gov/science/dasymetric/index.htm) which uses land use data to distribute population data more accurately than simply within a census mapping unit. The 1990, 2000, and 2010 10m cell population density rasters were produced using Rhode Island state land use data, Massachusetts state land use, Connecticut NLCD land use data, and U.S. Census data. To generate a population estimate (number of persons) for any given area within the boundaries of this raster, NBEP used the the Zonal Statistics as Table tool to sum the 10m cell density values within a given zone dataset (e.g., watershed polygon layer). Results presented include population estimates (1990, 2000, 2010) as well as calculation of percent change (1990-2000;2000-2010;1990-2010).

The data in a file are described in a read me file which is the first worksheet in each file. Each row in a species spreadsheet is for one plot (plant). The data themselves are in the data worksheet. One file includes a read me description of the column in the date set for chemical analysis. In this file one row is an herbicide treatment and sample for chemical analysis (if taken). The data presented in this dataset is derived from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2017-2021 5-Year Estimates. It presents the median household income from the years 2010 to 2021 following an initial analysis and categorization of the census data. Subsequently, we adjusted these figures for inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series via current methods (R-CPI-U-RS). For additional information about these estimations, please contact us via email at research@neilsberg.com

    Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset illustrates the median household income in Excel, spanning the years from 2010 to 2021, with all figures adjusted to 2022 inflation-adjusted dollars. Based on the latest 2017-2021 5-Year Estimates from the American Community Survey, it displays how income varied over the last decade. The dataset can be utilized to gain insights into median household income trends and explore income variations.

    Key observations:

From 2010 to 2021, the median household income for Excel increased by $13,784 (25.63%), as per the American Community Survey estimates. In comparison, median household income for the United States increased by $4,559 (6.51%) between 2010 and 2021.

Analyzing the trend in median household income between the years 2010 and 2021, spanning 11 annual cycles, we observed that median household income, when adjusted for 2022 inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series (R-CPI-U-RS), experienced growth year by year for 7 years and declined for 4 years.

    Good to know

    Margin of Error

Data in the dataset are based on the estimates and are subject to sampling variability and thus a margin of error. Neilsberg Research recommends using caution when presening these estimates in your research.

    Description

A large number of high-resolution geophysical surveys between Cape Hatteras and Georges Bank have been conducted by federal, state, and academic institutions since the turn of the century. A major goal of these surveys is providing a continuous view of bathymetry and shallow stratigraphy at the shelf edge in order to assess levels of geological activity during the current sea level highstand. In 2012, chirp seismic-reflection data was collected by the U.S. Geologial Survey aboard the motor vessel Tiki XIV near three United States mid-Atlantic margin submarine canyons. These data can be used to further our understanding of passive continental margin processes during the Holocene, as well as providing valuable information regarding potential submarine geohazards. For more information on the U.S. Geological Survey involvement in this effort, see https://cmgds.marine.usgs.gov/fan_info.php?fan=2012-005-FA.

The data presented in this dataset is derived from the U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey (ACS) 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates. It presents the median household income from the years 2010 to 2023 following an initial analysis and categorization of the census data. Subsequently, we adjusted these figures for inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series via current methods (R-CPI-U-RS). Description
    About this dataset

    Context

The dataset illustrates the median household income in Excel, spanning the years from 2010 to 2023, with all figures adjusted to 2023 inflation-adjusted dollars. Based on the latest 2019-2023 5-Year Estimates from the American Community Survey, it displays how income varied over the last decade. The dataset can be utilized to gain insights into median household income trends and explore income variations.

    Key observations:

From 2010 to 2023, the median household income for Excel increased by $10,176 (18.17%), as per the American Community Survey estimates. In comparison, median household income for the United States increased by $5,602 (7.68%) between 2010 and 2023.

Analyzing the trend in median household income between the years 2010 and 2023, spanning 13 annual cycles, we observed that median household income, when adjusted for 2023 inflation using the Consumer Price Index retroactive series (R-CPI-U-RS), experienced growth year by year for 7 years and declined for 6 years.
