    Description

This research project examined rural and urban trends in family and intimate partner homicide for the 20-year period from 1980 through 1999. The construct of place served as a backdrop against which changes in trends in family/partner homicide were tracked, and against which various independent measures that purportedly explain variation in the rates were tested. The project merged data from several sources. The offender data file from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's (FBI) Supplementary Homicide Report (SHR) series for 1980 through 1999 was the primary data source. Data for arrests for violent crime, drug, and alcohol-related offenses were obtained from the FBI Report A Arrest File. Population, population density, and race (and racial segregation) data from the decennial U.S. Census for 1980, 1990, and 2000 were also obtained. Data on hospitals, educational attainment, unemployment, and per capita income were obtained from the 2002 Area Resource File (ARF). The total number of proprietors (farm and non-farm) in the United States by state and county for each year were provided by the Regional Economic Profiles data. The project's population and proximity indicator used four categories: metropolitan, nonmetropolitan populations adjacent to a metropolitan area, nonmetropolitan populations not adjacent to a metropolitan area, and rural. Data include homicide rates for 1980 through 1999 for intimate partner homicide, family homicide, all other homicide, and all homicide. Additional variables are included as measures of community socioeconomic distress, such as residential overcrowding, isolation, traditionalist views of women and family, lack of access to health care, and substance abuse. Five-year averages are included for each of the rates and measures listed above.

    Description

For this project, data from 24-hour time diaries probing several indicators of social capital and life quality were gathered to update prior time series on how Americans spend time. Data were collected to be consistent with time-diary collections prepared in 1965, 1975, and 1985 (see ICPSR 7254, 7580, and 9875) to allow cross-time comparisons. The survey was conducted by the Survey Research Center at the University of Maryland between March 1998 and December 1999 (effectively covering each season of the year and each day of the week) with a representative sample of 1,151 respondents aged 18 and older. Using established time-diary procedures with Computer Assisted Telephone Interviewing (CATI), respondents were asked to complete "yesterday" time diaries detailing their primary activities from midnight to midnight of the previous day, their secondary activities (e.g., activities that occurred simultaneously with the primary activities), and when, with whom, and where they engaged in the activities. The project focus included the following substantive and methodological areas: (1) time spent in social interaction, particularly parental time with children, (2) measurement problems in time estimates, (3) activity and social interaction patterns of elderly Americans, and (4) time spent on the Internet and effects on social isolation and other media usage. In addition to the estimates of time use obtained from the time diaries, the project elicited information on (1) marital and parental status, education and employment status of the respondent and spouse (if married), age, race/ethnicity, and family income, (2) weekly and previous-day recall estimates of time spent on paid employment, housework, religious activities, and television viewing, (3) feelings of time pressure, and (4) use of the Internet, e-mail, and home computers.

    Family Banking Apps Market Outlook

According to the latest research, the global Family Banking Apps market size in 2024 stands at USD 2.1 billion, reflecting robust demand for digital financial solutions tailored to families. The market is projected to expand at a CAGR of 17.8% from 2025 to 2033, reaching a forecasted value of USD 8.1 billion by 2033. Key growth drivers include rising digital literacy among parents and children, increased smartphone penetration, and a growing emphasis on financial education for younger generations. As per our latest research, the market’s momentum is further propelled by evolving banking regulations supporting digital onboarding and the proliferation of fintech partnerships with traditional banks.

The rapid adoption of smartphones and mobile internet across the globe has significantly influenced the growth trajectory of the Family Banking Apps market. Families are increasingly seeking convenient, secure, and user-friendly platforms to manage their finances collaboratively. The growing awareness of the importance of early financial education for children and teenagers has led to a surge in demand for apps that provide parental controls, real-time monitoring, and educational resources. Additionally, the integration of gamification and interactive features within these apps is enhancing user engagement, making financial learning both fun and impactful for younger users. The market is also witnessing a shift towards personalized offerings, with apps leveraging artificial intelligence and machine learning to deliver tailored financial advice and spending insights to each family member.

Another significant growth factor for the Family Banking Apps market is the ongoing digital transformation within the banking sector. Traditional banks and fintech companies are increasingly collaborating to offer innovative family-centric banking solutions. These partnerships enable the integration of advanced security measures, seamless onboarding processes, and instant fund transfers, making family banking apps more accessible and reliable. Moreover, regulatory support for open banking and digital KYC (Know Your Customer) processes has lowered barriers to entry, allowing more families to adopt these solutions. The COVID-19 pandemic further accelerated the shift towards digital banking, as families sought contactless and remote financial management tools to ensure safety and convenience during lockdowns and social distancing measures.

The market is also being shaped by the evolving needs of modern families, who are seeking holistic financial management platforms that go beyond basic banking. Family banking apps now offer a range of features, from allowance distribution and budgeting tools to investment tracking and bill payment automation. These comprehensive solutions cater to the diverse financial needs of parents, children, and even extended family members. Additionally, the rise of embedded finance and API-driven architectures has enabled seamless integration with third-party services, such as insurance, lending, and rewards programs, further enhancing the value proposition of family banking apps. As financial institutions continue to innovate and expand their digital offerings, the Family Banking Apps market is poised for sustained growth in the coming years.

Regionally, North America remains the largest market for Family Banking Apps, driven by high smartphone adoption, advanced fintech infrastructure, and strong consumer demand for digital financial services. Europe follows closely, with regulatory initiatives such as PSD2 fostering open banking and cross-border interoperability. The Asia Pacific region is witnessing the fastest growth, fueled by a burgeoning middle class, rapid urbanization, and government initiatives promoting financial inclusion and digital literacy. Latin America and the Middle East & Africa are emerging markets, with increasing investments in digital banking infrastructure and a growing focus on youth-oriented financial education. Each region presents unique opportunities and challenges, shaping the competitive landscape and growth prospects of the global Family Banking Apps market.

    Description

This repository contains the database used for the development of the study "Evolution and Trends in Research on Family Digital Leisure: A Bibliometric Analysis" followed the PRISMA 2020 Protocol.

This study aims to analyze the evolution of the field of research on family digital leisure from 2012 to 2022. The analysis, conducted through a bibliometric approach, seeks to identify trends, changes, and emerging patterns in scientific literature. To achieve this purpose, two specific objectives were established. First, the temporal evolution of the field was explored, evaluating the variation in scientific production and academic attention over the last decade. Second, emerging themes and thematic groups that have gained relevance in scientific literature were identified.

On January 31, 2023, a search was conducted in the topic section (abstract, title, and keywords) of the Web of Science (WoS), Clarivate Analytics, and Scopus Main Collection. The descriptors used were: (leisure OR game OR entertainment) AND (digital OR internet OR online OR cyber OR technolg* OR ICT OR ICTs) AND (family). This search was limited to the years 2012-2022.

The initial search generated 2953 results, which, after removing duplicates, were reduced to 1843 documents. These were subjected to the following inclusion criteria: (1) being articles or reviews and (2) having been published between 2012 and 2022. Consequently, chapters of books, conference papers, and other formats were excluded, as well as scientific production accepted for publication in 2023 (early or advance access). Finally, 1381 documents were obtained to carry out the bibliometric study.

Missing Persons Family Portals Market Outlook

As per our latest research, the global Missing Persons Family Portals market size reached USD 1.12 billion in 2024, with a robust year-on-year growth trajectory. The market is projected to expand at a CAGR of 14.6% from 2025 to 2033, positioning the sector to achieve a substantial market size of USD 3.37 billion by 2033. This growth is primarily driven by the rising incidence of missing person cases, increasing digitalization of law enforcement and non-profit operations, and heightened public awareness and engagement facilitated by technological advancements.

Several critical growth factors are propelling the Missing Persons Family Portals market. First and foremost, the global surge in missing persons cases, often aggravated by factors such as conflicts, natural disasters, and human trafficking, has necessitated the development of robust digital platforms for tracking, reporting, and reuniting missing individuals with their families. These portals are increasingly leveraging advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence, facial recognition, and geolocation services, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of search operations. The integration of real-time data sharing between families, law enforcement, and NGOs is optimizing search efforts and improving the rate of successful reunifications, thus driving the adoption of such platforms worldwide. Furthermore, government mandates and international collaborations have encouraged the implementation of standardized digital solutions to streamline information exchange and accelerate response times in missing person cases.

Another significant driver of market growth is the ongoing digital transformation within public safety and humanitarian sectors. Law enforcement agencies, non-profit organizations, and government bodies are increasingly investing in digital infrastructure to modernize their operations. The adoption of cloud-based and on-premises solutions for missing persons portals is enabling organizations to manage large volumes of sensitive data securely, while also ensuring accessibility across multiple devices and geographies. Moreover, the emergence of mobile applications and user-friendly web interfaces has empowered families and the general public to participate actively in search and reporting processes. This democratization of access and information is fostering a more collaborative approach to missing persons investigations, which in turn is fueling market expansion.

Public awareness and advocacy campaigns have also played a pivotal role in market growth. High-profile cases and media coverage have spotlighted the importance of swift action and coordination in missing persons investigations. Social media platforms and online communities are amplifying the reach of missing persons alerts, while family portals are providing dedicated spaces for families to share information, coordinate with authorities, and receive support. The increasing involvement of non-governmental organizations and community groups in both prevention and recovery efforts has further expanded the ecosystem of stakeholders utilizing these platforms. As a result, the market is witnessing sustained investment from both public and private sectors, with a focus on enhancing user experience, data security, and interoperability across various systems.

Regionally, North America continues to dominate the Missing Persons Family Portals market, accounting for the largest share in 2024, followed by Europe and Asia Pacific. The region's leadership is attributed to advanced digital infrastructure, proactive government initiatives, and a high level of public engagement in missing persons cases. Meanwhile, Asia Pacific is emerging as a high-growth region, driven by increasing internet penetration, rapid urbanization, and a growing emphasis on public safety. Latin America and the Middle East & Africa are also witnessing steady adoption, supported by international collaborations and the expansion of non-profit organizations.
