This feature layer contains the Level of Service (LOS) on state roads and other facilities within the District Five, from 2002 to present. LOS is updated annually in July; this dataset will be updated accordingly. Data from the previous year is used to calculate the LOS, so there is a time lag. The currently adopted Urban and Transitioning areas are also shown. Please keep in mind that the methodology and capacities for calculating LOS has changed several times during the past 20 years. Thus, an equal comparison between and among the different years may be difficult to do. For definitions, official FDOT policy on LOS, handbooks/user guides, and contact information, please visit the FDOT Systems Implementation Office website at https://www.fdot.gov/planning/systems/programs/sm/los/default.shtm.

A series of land use (LU) maps have been produced by the SFWMD since the early 1970s. It was produced by photointerpretation of 1:40,000 USGS NAPP color infrared photography. The work was carried out by multiple contractors, with significant input and review by a community of stakeholders at the District. The contract was managed by the Technical Resources Team (TRT) at SFWMD. The classification system is a modified version of the statewide FLUCCS (Florida Land Use and Cover Classification System) maintained by FDOT. This modified version uses classes that are mainly at the community level, but also includes a number of species of concern. Modifications and corrections have been made to the map since its creation. There is no formal assessment of accuracy parameters for this layer. Please note that there are several polygons that have a "0" FLUCCS code that represent gaps and slivers in the data. These polygons will be corrected during the next round of SFWMD Data Cleanup.
Drainage data is provided by Miami Dade County to FDOT District 6. The data (structures and pipes) is clipped to 100 foot buffer of the state road center line. Attribute data is collected by Miami Dade County. Updates are made on a quarterly basis.
Active FDOT Construction Project Feature Service is derived from FDOT Construction Office Enterprise Systems and the service is updated nightly. This Layer contains Active Construction Contracts which are updated with execution and completion dates via Site Manger, a Construction Contract Enterprise System. This layer is the Geospatial System of Reference for Active Construction Contracts.

description: Data produced for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI) in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). This data set consists of digital data describing the seagrass, unvegetated bottom, open water, algal beds, oysters, and apparent shoreline for the Southwest Florida Seagrass project area, which consists of Pine Island Sound, Matlacha Pass, San Carlos Bay, the lower Caloosahatchee River, and Estero Bay, in 1999. The data set includes an ArcInfo coverage that was digitized from 1:24000 scale natural color aerial photographs that were photogrammetrically georeferenced utilizing GPS ground control points. Data was stereoscopically photointerpreted and digitized using a Zeiss P3 analytical stereoplotter. The seagrass beds and additional categories were classified according to the FDOT Florida Land Use, Cover and Forms Classification System (FLUCCS). Minimum mapping unit (mmu) for all classes was 0.25 acres. A Photointerpretation Key was developed to aid in the classification of collected data. Ground truthing was performed during the photointerpretation phase to ensure classification accuracy and consistency of PI. Digital files were created in Microstation design file format (.dgn). 1999 SWIM Seagrass data was translated from ARC/Info to .dgn format and was referenced as collateral tie information during the compilation process. These data were collected under a cooperative mapping program between the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Office for Coastal Management (NOAAOCM), and the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve (NERR). The primary objectives of this program were to collect marine geophysical data to develop a suite of seafloor maps to better define the extent of oyster habitats, the overall seafloor geology of the bay and provide updated information for management of this resource. In addition to their value for management of the bay's oyster resources, the maps also provide a geologic framework for scientific research and the public.; abstract: Data produced for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission's Florida Marine Research Institute (FMRI) in partnership with the South Florida Water Management District (SFWMD). The FDOT GIS Preliminary Context Classification feature class provides spatial information regarding preliminary context classification on selected Florida roadways. Context classification denotes the criteria for roadway design elements for safer streets that promote safety, economic development, and quality of life. All non-limited access state highways will be evaluated and assigned a current context classification. Limited access facilities are assigned only one code - LA - Limited Access. For growth development and design purposes, a future context classification will also be assigned. The District Complete Streets Coordinator will determine the current and future context classification designation, along with the dates, and coordinate with the District RCI staff to get this information into the RCI database. This information is required for All functionally classified roadways on the State Highway System (SHS). This dataset is maintained by the Transportation Data & Analytics office (TDA). Every 10 years, the U.S. Census publishes a list of qualifying urban areas based on the results of the Decennial Census (87 FR 80114). Areas with population of 5,000 or greater are extracted and sent to the FDOT Districts to coordinate the adjustment process in cooperation with local agencies and communities. The original urban area polygons are adjusted or smoothed to accommodate a simplified planning, programming, and maintenance of federal-aid eligible roadways.Maps of the adjusted boundaries are reviewed by the Central Office and FHWA Division for final approvals. To qualify a roadway as part of an urban area, the territory identified according to the criteria must encompass at least 2,000 housing units or at least 5,000 persons. Roadways in urban areas with less than 5,000 persons will be coded as rural for HPMS reporting purposes. The term rural encompasses all population, housing, and territory not included within an urban area. Urban areas are expanded to include adjacent areas as provided for by FHWA regulations.
