Historically, the earliest Bakersfield “urban” subdivisions were not called tracts. The downtown area was subdivided into blocks and lots. Early citywide maps show the city blocks numbered from 1 to over 700. Some blocks were designated by letters rather than numbers. Each block was further subdivided into numbered lots. Thereafter housing subdivisions were called tracts and initially were named (example; Lowell Addition). Many of these “Named” tracts were also subdivided into blocks and lots. The earliest rural land subdivisions are the Sales Map Lands of J. B. Haggin and the Sales Map Lands of the Kern County l Land Company. The legal description of most modern lots is comprised of some combination of the fields: Document Type, Map Number, Phase and Lot Number. A “Block” field should be added for old parcels whose legal description is comprised of tract, block and lot (or just block and lot). The legal description fields for most of the older parcels are not populated at this time. All COGO’d parcels are considered “Excellent” quality User Flag This field is for temporary data storage. However the following user flag values provide information about how the parcel features originally built or subsequently edited: CAD CONVERSION - parcels were developed from georeferenced CAD data. Quality is considered excellent. COGO - parcels were first developed employing COGO editing tools. Quality is considered excellent REBUILT - parcels were originally Valleywide GIS features that were rebuilt using COGO and other editing tools. Quality is considered excellent except parcels that were rebuilt where only assessor maps were available. SHIFTED - original parcels were considered geometrically adequate but required a slight positional shift. Whole blocks of contiguous lots were shifted together. Quality is considered good. Class(Domain)This field provides an opportunity to classify lots for specific purposes. The Private road lot class was created so these lots could be neglected when exporting parcels for the Community Maps Project. Landscape lot Private road lot School lot Sump lot Water Well lot Additional classes could be developed. For the vast majority of parcels the class field is not populated. Address The street address of a lot can be populated if the address point feature class objects have already been created and populated by the GIS Analyst at Community Development. Where there are multiple addresses on a parcel, this data is captured on the Address Point feature class. Assessor Parcel Number (APN) and Assessor Tax Numbers (ATN)The most important parcel layer attributes are the APN and ATN values that are assigned by the Kern County Assessor. An 8 digit APN is assigned to a property that has a specific geometry as defined by a legal description. If any new change occurs such as a lot line adjustment, then the geometry of the parcel(s) are changed and the APN’s for the affected properties are dropped and are never re-assigned. New unique APN’s are assigned to the affected properties and remain as long as the legal description of the geometry does not change. It usually takes at least a few months after a tract is recorded and the parcel feature class objects are developed before the County assigns APN’s to those parcels. The APN field is populated with “NEW” until such time as values are assigned. Parcel APNs can be acquired from the following sources: https://kernpublicworks.com/maps/parcel-maps/, Preliminary (January) and final (July) Kern County parcel GIS releases. Some Condominium common areas do not have an APN. The APN field is populated with “CONDOLOT”. These parcels are retained in order to preserve road right of ways. Compare City parcel layer features with County features to visualize why we retain these parcels.

Data set for the theme Cadastral parcels (CP) harmonised according to the INSPIRE Directive in the extended data model (CPX). The aim of the data set is to provide the full content of the cadastral map of the Czech Republic by extending the CP data model according to the rules of the technical documentation INSPIRE. The data is extended with easements, point fields, other elements of the digital cadastral map. Compared to the INSPIRE data set, the parcels contain some additional attributes such as border type, land use type, type of land, link to the building to parcels and map markers. The data also contains the original arc geometry of the parcel boundaries. The data set is provided as open data (CC-BY 4.0 license). The data is based on ISKN (Cadastre Information System). In areas with an analogue map (raster form), only parcel definition points are available. The borders of the cadastral territories are available for the entire Czech Republic. This parcels data set is a spatial representation of municipal tax lots for Hunterdon County, New Jersey that have been extracted from the NJ statewide parcels composite by the NJ Office of Information Technology, Office of GIS (NJOGIS). Parcels at county boundaries have been modified to correspond with the NJ county boundaries and the parcels in adjacent counties. Each parcel contains a field named PAMS_PIN based on a concatenation of the county/municipality code, block number, lot number and qualification code. Using the PAMS_PIN, the dataset can be joined to the MOD-IV database table that contains supplementary attribute information regarding lot ownership and characteristics. Due to irregularities in the data development process, duplicate PAMS_PIN values exist in the parcel records. Users should avoid joining MOD-IV database table records to all parcel records with duplicate PAMS_PINs because of uncertainty regarding whether the MOD-IV records will join to the correct parcel records. There are also parcel records with unique PAMS_PIN values for which there are no corresponding records in the MOD-IV database tables. This is mostly due to the way data are organized in the MOD-IV database. The polygons delineated in the dataset do not represent legal boundaries and should not be used to provide a legal determination of land ownership. Parcels are not survey data and should not be used as such. The MOD-IV (Tax Assessor's) table for the county is packaged together with the parcels as one download. The MOD-IV system provides for uniform preparation, maintenance, presentation and storage of property tax information required by the Constitution of the State of New Jersey, New Jersey Statutes and rules promulgated by the Director of the Division of Taxation. MOD-IV maintains and updates all assessment records and produces all statutorily required tax lists for property tax bills. This list accounts for all parcels of real property as delineated and identified on each municipality's official tax map, as well as taxable values and descriptive data for each parcel. Tax List records were received as raw data from the Taxation Team of NJOIT which collected source information from municipal tax assessors and created the statewide table. This table was subsequently processed for ease of use with NJ tax parcel spatial data and split into an individual table for each county.***NOTE*** For users who incorporate NJOGIS services into web maps and/or web applications, please sign up for the NJ Geospatial Forum discussion listserv for early notification of service changes. A geographic depiction of city boundaries in Broward County, Florida.
Updates:July 2023 - Changed city boundaries at the intersection of the Florida Turnpike and State Road 7 from Tamarac to BMSD to reflect the Situs City of the encompassing parcels ( Folios 494207010270, 494207010260, 494207010090, 49420701014, and 494207010092).February 2023 - Changed BMSD and Coconut Creek Boundaries to reflect contraction of "Alley Farms" parcels 474232010250, 474232010251, and 474232010260 in the Hillsboro Ranches area. Parcels were annexed into the City Coconut Creek in 2019 but subsequently contracted back into BMSD at the petition of the property owners. Coconut Creek Contraction Ordinance (Alley Farms LLC Properties). October 2022 - Boundaries for BMSD and the City of Parkland in the NW portion of Broward County were updated to reflect the annexation of “Gator Acres” parcel (folio 474119010013) into Parkland municipal boundaries in accordance with Parkland Ordinance No. 2021-010 effective September 15, 2022.
Summary of Previous Updates: June 2021: Two annexations for Sept 15th, 2021 were finalized by the Broward County Legislative Delegation in January 2021. Fort Lauderdale annexed a thin tract of land adjacent to Rolly Marine which was owned by Rolly Marine but located within the boundary of Dania Beach. Parkland annexed a tract of land (and its adjacent access road) named the Beasely property on which antennas are located. Both of these annexations were to be effective in 2020 but were delayed due to the pandemic and were approved in January 11th by the Legislative Delegation. Previously on February 22, 2021 a small correction was made between Tamarac and Fort Lauderdale just SW of the Executive Airport. In February adjustments were made between Pembroke Pines, Southwest Ranches and Cooper City where their geographies are coincidence and are meant to follow the northern boundaries of STR geography. Prior to this edit, the City of Coral Springs had annexed four parcels of land from unincorporated Broward County; Ordinances 2018-014 (1 parcel) and 2018-036 (3 parcels), effective Sept 15, 2019. Previously in May 2019, a correction was made to the boundaries of Southwest Ranches and Pembroke Pines at Dykes Road and Sheraton, just north of Sheraton, on the west side of Dykes. Prior to this change, a correction was made to the Lauderhill boundary at the Florida Turnpike interchange located at the Sunrise Blvd entrance on the east side of the turnpike in April 2019; the 1959 Lauderhill incorporation legal description, (Laws of Florida 59-1478) left this thirteen acre area as unincorporated. A 1994 boundary change between Plantation and Lauderhill, (Laws of Florida 94-427) de-annexed five parcels from Plantation and annexed them to Lauderhill in this area. However in 1996, Broward County's Strategic Planning and Growth Management Department made available data sets provided by Broward County’s Planning and Information Technology Division via a CD. This data set depicted this unincorporated area as being part of Lauderhill. This depiction remained such until a boundary adjustment in 2006-2007 incorrectly depicted this as being part of Plantation. In 2009 Broward County was made aware of this error and adjusted it partially using the CD boundary as a template. This resulted in the area being incorrectly assigned to Lauderhill. In September of 2018, Lauderhill revisited this boundary depiction by the County and in 2019 it was concluded this area is unincorporated following the 1959 and the 1994 boundary adjustment legal descriptions. Prior to April 2019 there were other edits. The previous update of the data was Nov 7th, 2018, adjusting the boundaries between Weston and Town of Davie to agree with House Bill 0871 which redefined a small area of their adjoining boundaries in the area of Weston Road and I-75. In July 2018, adjustments were made to the City of Margate to align with a city boundary shape file and written legal description as provided by John Shelton, GIS, City of Margate. The previous update was January 17th, 2018, correcting an unincorporated boundary line of the Triple H Ranch plat area within Parkland. This also reflects an adjustment made to Pembroke Pines southwest boundary between the Turnpike and SR 27 and the Sept 15th 2016 annexations of County unincorporated lands by Parkland. (City Ord 2016-06) and Coconut Creek (City Ord. 2015-027).Also a correction to the Hollywood/Davie boundary in the vicinity of Davie Blvd Ext and N 66 Ave and Oak St, per the City of Hollywood. Recent past boundary changes include annexations of county land to Pembroke Pines and Cooper City in 2015. And a Weston-Davie boundary adjustment in 2015; HB 871. And a July 2015 official resurvey of the City of Fort Lauderdale's boundaries which thus included adjustments to Oakland Park and Pompano Beach boundaries, (F. Gulliano, BC Engineering, M. Donaldson PSM, Fort Lauderdale). Also in 2015, a boundary adjustment was made to the eastern most boundary of Pompano Beach to match it to a more accurate depiction of the coastal erosion line by Broward County; (requested by the city to match their legal description). Further back, the were annexations for Parkland (2013) and Sunrise (Nov 2012) and updates to Lauderdale Lakes (per J. Petrov - BC Engineering 2012) and Plantation (I Reyes, GIS - Plantation 2012).
