    The National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHDplus) maps the lakes, ponds, streams, rivers and other surface waters of the United States. Created by the US EPA Office of Water and the US Geological Survey, the NHDPlus provides mean annual and monthly flow estimates for rivers and streams. Additional attributes provide connections between features facilitating complicated analyses. Esri recommends updating your maps and apps to use the new version.This layer displays change in pixels of the Sentinel-2 10m Land Use/Land Cover product developed by Esri, Impact Observatory, and Microsoft. Available years to compare with 2021 are 2018, 2019 and 2020. By default, the layer shows all comparisons together, in effect showing what changed 2018-2021. But the layer may be changed to show one of three specific pairs of years, 2018-2021, 2019-2021, or 2020-2021.Showing just one pair of years in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer To show just one pair of years in ArcGIS Online Map viewer, create a filter. 1. Click the filter button. 2. Next, click add expression. 3. In the expression dialogue, specify a pair of years with the ProductName attribute. Use the following example in your expression dialogue to show only places that changed between 2020 and 2021:ProductNameis2020-2021 By default, places that do not change appear as a transparent symbol in ArcGIS Pro. But in ArcGIS Online Map Viewer, a transparent symbol may need to be set for these places after a filter is chosen. To do this: 4. Click the styles button.5. Under unique values click style options. 6. Click the symbol next to No Change at the bottom of the legend. 7. Click the slider next to "enable fill" to turn the symbol off. How the change layer was created, combining LULC classes from two yearsImpact Observatory, Esri, and Microsoft used artificial intelligence to classify the world in 10 Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) classes for the years 2017-2021. Mosaics serve the following sets of change rasters in a single global layer: Change between 2018 and 2021Change between 2019 and 2021Change between 2020 and 2021To make this change layer, Esri used an arithmetic operation combining the cells from a source year and 2021 to make a change index value. This dataset can be used to visualize land cover anywhere on Earth. This layer can also be used in analyses that require land cover input. For example, the Zonal Statistics tools allow a user to understand the composition of a specified area by reporting the total estimates for each of the classes. Land Cover processingThis map was produced by a deep learning model trained using over 5 billion hand-labeled Sentinel-2 pixels, sampled from over 20,000 sites distributed across all major biomes of the world. The underlying deep learning model uses 6 bands of Sentinel-2 surface reflectance data: visible blue, green, red, near infrared, and two shortwave infrared bands. To create the final map, the model is run on multiple dates of imagery throughout the year, and the outputs are composited into a final representative map.     WDFW cartography staff create map content designed to inform map viewers where certain types of recreation opportunities are promoted on WDFW Wildlife Areas. This layer is created from WDFW parcel data using parcel attributes to define where these targeted recreation opportunities exist. There are currently two focused map content areas, one is to support the GoHunt application where hunting opportunities are promoted. The other is used to identify WDFW lands where a Washington Discover Pass is required. The Recreation Access Code, managed in the WDFW_Lands feature class, is used to define which parcels are dissolved into this feature class. Recreation Access Code values that are brought across as a result of a standard definition query are: 1 - Parcels managed within a designated Wildlife Area and not restricted in any way for being displayed on GoHunt or Discover Pass maps; 4 - Parcels designated by the Wildlife Program for exclusion from GoHunt activities; 5 - Parcels designated by the Wildlife Program for exclusion from the Discover Pass. Users of this feature class can use ArcMap definition queries to appropriately display either GoHunt or Discover Pass map content. This feature class displays the finest scale of the Wildlife Area administrative hierarchy that consists of Widlife Area Complexes, Wildlife Areas and Wildlife Area Units. There are several fields in this data that can be used to label maps with the Wildlife Area Unit name.

    This layer contains information for locating past and present legal city boundaries within Los Angeles County. The Los Angeles County Department of Public Works provides the most current shapefiles representing city annexations and city boundaries on the Los Angeles County GIS Data Portal. The Department also provides large format city annexation maps (pdf) on its FTP site. True, legal boundaries are only determined on the ground by surveyors licensed in the State of California. Numerous records are freely available at the Land Records Information website, hosted by the Department of Public Works.Principal attributes include:NO: corresponds with numbers on the tables displayed on City Annexation Maps.ANNEX_No: is a text version of the "NO" field listed above.     Wetlands are areas where water is present at or near the surface of the soil during at least part of the year. Wetlands provide habitat for many species of plants and animals that are adapted to living in wet habitats. Wetlands form characteristic soils, absorb pollutants and excess nutrients from aquatic systems, help buffer the effects of high flows, and recharge groundwater.     The Vision Zero data contained in this layer pertain to parking violations issued by the District of Columbia's Metropolitan Police Department (MPD)and partner agencies with the authority to do so. For example, the District Department of Transportation's (DDOT) traffic control officers who prevent congestion through enforcement and control at intersections throughout the District. Locations of moving violations are identified from a database provided by the District Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).The data is summarized by ticket counts based on time of day, week of year, year, and category of violation. The summary form was created as a series of aggregated street segment data, in order to view spatial patterns on a weekly basis. This is a temporal crosstab of violation types (defined below) by week and time of day (ranges defined below).Users are able to query by week to get a DC-wide yearly and weekly perspective on over 50 different combinations of violations. Create interesting street segment heat maps which can get quite specific to identify patterns and answer questions. For example, what type of parking violations occurred the most in the time period of this data? These data will give up to 26 distinct street segments of information – one for each week of the half year.Important Notes: Records which could not be associated to a street centerline segment (StreetSeg) were excluded from these summaries. Records which do not have a time of day associated with the violation were excluded from these summaries.

    Climate plays a major role in determining the distribution of plants and animals. Bioclimatology, the study of climate as it affects and is affected by living organisms, is key to understanding the patterns of forests and deserts on the landscape, where productive agricultural lands may be found, and how changes in the climate will affect rare species. This layer is part of the Ecophysiographic Project and is one of the four input layers used to create the World Ecological Land Units Map. This layer provides access to a 250m cell-sized raster with a bioclimatic stratification. The source dataset was a 30-arcsecond resolution raster (equivalent to 0.86 km2 at the equator or about a 920m pixel size). The layer has the following attributes: Temperature Description - Seven classes based on the number of growing degree days (the monthly mean temperature multiplied by number of days in the month summed for all months). The 1950 to 2000 monthly average temperature was used to calculate growing degree days.     Description

    This line feature layer contains Legal City boundaries within Los Angeles County.

    The principal attribute is BDRY_TYPE which represents the boundary feature types. Use its values below for definition queries and layer symbology for your mapping needs.

    Coast - This value represents the coastline. This data is carefully maintained by DPW staff, based Los Angeles Region Imagery Acquisition Consortium data.

    Land City - This value represents city boundaries on land.

    Land County - This value represents the county boundary on land.

    Pier - One example is the Santa Monica Pier. Man-made features may be regarded as extensions of the coastline.

    Breakwater - Examples include the breakwater barriers that protect the Los Angeles Harbor.

    Water - This value is used to separate features representing internal navigable waters and the ocean. Examples of internal waters are found in the Long Beach Harbor and in Marina del Rey.

    Ocean - This value is used to represent ocean boundaries between cities in addition to the seaward boundaries of coastal cities. Per the Submerged Lands Act, the seaward boundaries of coastal cities and unincorporated county areas are three nautical miles (a nautical mile is 1852 meters) from the coastline.

The National Hydrography Dataset Plus (NHDplus) maps the lakes, ponds, streams, rivers and other surface waters of the United States. Created by the US EPA Office of Water and the US Geological Survey, the NHDPlus provides mean annual and monthly flow estimates for rivers and streams. Additional attributes provide connections between features facilitating complicated analyses. Similarly, the NHDPlus Area and Waterbody feature classes were merged under a single schema.Attribute fields were added to the flowline and waterbody layers to simplify symbology and enhance the layer's pop-ups. Fields added include Pop-up Title, Pop-up Subtitle, On or Off Network (flowlines only), Esri Symbology (waterbodies only), and Feature Code Description. All other attributes are from the original NHDPlus dataset. No data values -9999 and -9998 were converted to Null values for many of the flowline fields.What can you do with this layer?Feature layers work throughout the ArcGIS system. Generally your work flow with feature layers will begin in ArcGIS Online or ArcGIS Pro. Below are just a few of the things you can do with a feature service in Online and Pro.ArcGIS OnlineAdd this layer to a map in the map viewer. The layer is limited to scales of approximately 1:1,000,000 or larger but a vector tile layer created from the same data can be used at smaller scales to produce a webmap that displays across the full range of scales. The layer or a map containing it can be used in an application. Change the layer’s transparency and set its visibility rangeOpen the layer’s attribute table and make selections. Selections made in the map or table are reflected in the other. Center on selection allows you to zoom to features selected in the map or table and show selected records allows you to view the selected records in the table.Apply filters. For example you can set a filter to show larger streams and rivers using the mean annual flow attribute or the stream order attribute. Change the layer’s style and symbologyAdd labels and set their propertiesCustomize the pop-upUse as an input to the ArcGIS Online analysis tools. This layer works well as a reference layer with the trace downstream and watershed tools. The buffer tool can be used to draw protective boundaries around streams and the extract data tool can be used to create copies of portions of the data.ArcGIS ProAdd this layer to a 2d or 3d map.
