This hosted feature layer has been published in RI State Plane Feet NAD 83.Representative locations of exterior fire hydrants throughout Rhode Island. These data were originally designed and developed for Rhode Island E 9-1-1 Uniform Emergency Telephone System (RI E 9-1-1) purposes. This dataset continues to be maintained to provide an accurate spatial reference for RI E 9-1-1 telecommunicators. Portions of this dataset were collected as early as 2001. Inaccuracies do exist in these data and are therefore under constant revision. Any discrepancies, inaccuracies or inconsistencies recognized in these data should be reported to the pertinent municipality who should alert RI E-911. Users are also encouraged to email ri911gis@akassociates911.com with any suggested updates for this actively maintained dataset.

    Description

This layer contains the data for the hydrant exercise boundaries for the fire department in the City of Round Rock, located in Williamson County, Texas. This layer is part of an original dataset provided and maintained by the City of Round Rock GIS/IT Department and the Planning and Development Services Department. The data in this layer are represented as polygons.A hydrant exercise boundary is an area that includes the nearest fire hydrants, and the closest fire stations. This layer can be used to determine where the closest hydrants are, and which fire station is closest to a given emergency in the area. There are 31 hydrant exercise boundaries in this layer, each containing between 94 and 205 fire hydrants. This layer used to be utilized by the fire department, but the responsibilities of fire hydrant maintenance and tracking has moved under the control of the water department, as per Kim Jones in the Planning and Development Services Department.

    Description

This set of punctual data shows fire hydrants on the island of Montreal. These bollards are high devices located along streets, equipped with a water outlet supplied from the water pipes, to which the fire-fighting hoses are connected in order to ensure fire protection. The information associated with the geographic data corresponds to the date of installation, status, owner and jurisdiction. CAUTION: This data is published annually, so it does not include updates made during the year. For this reason, they should under no circumstances be used for engineering purposes without validation by the City.**This third party metadata element was translated using an automated translation tool (Amazon Translate).**
