This resource is a member of a series. The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The All Roads Shapefile includes all features within the MTDB Super Class "Road/Path Features" distinguished where the MAF/TIGER Feature Classification Code (MTFCC) for the feature in MTDB that begins with "S". This includes all primary, secondary, local neighborhood, and rural roads, city streets, vehicular trails (4wd), ramps, service drives, alleys, parking lot roads, private roads for service vehicles (logging, oil fields, ranches, etc.), bike paths or trails, bridle/horse paths, walkways/pedestrian trails, and stairways.

The FDOT State Roads feature class provides spatial information on Florida State Roads, as well as attribute information compatible with the Roadway Characteristics Inventory (RCI) database. Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) roadways are categorized as interstates, US routes, state roads (SRs) and county roads (CRs) and are collectively called the State Highway System (SHS). This information is required for all roadways, including Active Exclusive ramps and frontage roads associated with the state and county roads designations. Do not use for State mileage calculations. This dataset is maintained by the Transportation Data & Analytics office (TDA). The source spatial data for this hosted feature layer was created on: 05/24/2025.For more details please review the FDOT RCI Handbook Download Data: Enter Guest as Username to download the source shapefile from here: https://ftp.fdot.gov/file/d/FTP/FDOT/co/planning/transtat/gis/shapefiles/state_roads.zip
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) roadways are categorized as interstates, US routes, state roads (SRs) and county roads (CRs) and are collectively called the State Highway System (SHS). All roadways on the SHS have a SR number that may or may not be posted. A single route often carries a US route number and state route number, though only one number may be posted. Refer to the Transportation System Jurisdiction and Numbering Procedure, Topic No. 525-020-010. County roads are also coded under this characteristic, with a prefix of CR. If a roadway transfers from the SHS, the SR number is changed to the CR number in the database. Required for all roadways, including Active Exclusive ramps and frontage roads associated with the state and county roads designations. Do not use for County mileage calculations. A line feature class of the FDOT U.S. Highways, it provides spatial information on Florida U.S. Highways as well attribute information compatible with the Roadway Characteristics Inventory (RCI) database. The US Roads feature class covers the state of Florida at a scale of 1:24,000 and was created in a projection system of Universal Transverse Mercator (UTM) 17 North zone and a horizontal datum of North American 1983 (NAD 1983), map units in meters. It was then projected by MDC into NAD_1983_StatePlane_Florida_East_FIPS_0901_Feet, map units feet.Updated: Bi-Annually The data was created using: Projected Coordinate System: WGS_1984_Web_Mercator_Auxiliary_SphereProjection: Mercator_Auxiliary_Sphere

Edge refers to the linear topological primitives that make up MTDB. The All Lines Shapefile contains linear features such as roads, railroads, and hydrography. Additional attribute data associated with the linear features found in the All Lines Shapefile are available in relationship (.dbf) files that users must download separately. The All Lines Shapefile contains the geometry and attributes of each topological primitive edge. Each edge has a unique TIGER/Line identifier (TLID) value.
