Forsyth County boundary is a base layer for all mapping within Forsyth County

Separated and combined sewer gravity mains. Contains wastewater gravity mains located within the County Water Service Area for Forsyth County, GA. Features located within the City of Cumming Water service area are not included.

This dataset was created to inventory Forsyth County's wastewater infrastructure. The data has been created by digitizing as-built drawings and CAD files in conjunction with orthophotography. Some data has been field verified with mapping grade GPS and survey grade GPS. Other uses include mapping and modeling.Two sub-layers for public consumption (FCWS & Private/Other).

This layer contains boundary polygons depicting the United States Senate Districts in Forsyth County as adopted by the Georgia General Assembly in 2022. This layer was built using Census 2020 Tiger geography and demographic data. The geographic extent of this layer is the State of Georgia.

Community Areas represent specific geographic locales that have unique, recognizable characteristics that are different from adjacent areas. Distinctions are based on the form, pattern and intensity of land development.Comprehensive Plan (2022 - 2042) The purpose of the Comprehensive Plan is to guide the intensity, location and timing of development and to ensure compatibility with existing uses, infrastructure and economic trends while protecting natural and cultural resources.Forsyth County's Comprehensive Plan serves as a policy guide as decisions are made in relation to growth and land use change. Data were captured from USGS 7.5 minute mylar separates containing the "blue-layer" from the U.S. Geological Survey's 1:24000-scale quadrangle maps.Waterlines features updated in 2019 using Arc Hydro extension for ArcGIS Pro and 2018 Digital Elevation Model

A precinct is generally the smallest level of geography established for purposes of conducting elections. Each precinct has a specific location where its residents go to vote.Effective via Feb 18

The published representation of real property areas, combined with assessing and tax information from CAMA and Tax systems, and organized for consumption in desktop and web applications. This feature class contains redundant geometry in cases where there are multiple condominium units on a given tax parcel. The Tax Parcel feature class is updated nightly extracting information from the Parcel Fabric into the feature class.

Road segments representing centerlines of all roadways or carriageways in a local government. Typically, this information is compiled from orthoimagery or other aerial photography sources. This representation of the road centerlines support address geocoding and mapping. It also serves as a source for public works and other agencies that are responsible for the active management of the road network.

After a disaster, when the “normal” means to describe locations, such as street signs, are gone, the U.S. National Grid provide a standardized grid reference system that is seamless across jurisdictional boundaries and allows for pinpointing exact locations.Since USNG is standardized, it can be understood and used as a common geographic framework for response. In the 1800's a survey of Georgia divided much of the state into its present grid system of "land lots" and "districts." In addition, portions of the state use special areas known as "sections," "headrights," and "Georgia Militia Districts." These land area measures are the topics of discussion in the following sections. The districts are generally square areas of land and do not necessarily correspond with county boundary lines. Each district consists of smaller square grids of land known as land lots which vary in size from as small as 40 acres in the northern portion of the state to as large as 490 acres in the central and southern portions. The 40 acre land lots were purposely made smaller for the gold lotteries in the 1830's. Legal descriptions of property located in those areas of the state so divided must include the land lot number and district number. In some areas of the state legal descriptions may use other land divisions in pinpointing the exact location of the property being described.

A gravity main is a pipe in varying sizes that carries storm water by means of gravity. This essentially means there is no artificial machine used to move the storm water.

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. This layer delinates the area being put forward in one of three types of applications to the Long Range Planning Division of the Planning department. CUP - Conditional Use Permit, HOP - Home Occupation Permit, and SP - Sketch Plat. These are all applications which require approval from the Planning Commision (HOP) and the Board of Commissioners (CUP, SP).
